Hallo zusammen!

Mal sehen was bei raus kommt...

BioConversion Black Soldier Fly - Hermetia Illucens Investment Highlights
EcoSystem is innovating industrial-scale applications of bioreactor technology that are designed to resolve compelling ecological challenges while producing value added carbon neutral products.
Our proprietary bioconversion technologies rely on engineered ecosystems to apply biotechnologies that nature has already selected to manage food, animal and human wastes.
The natural mechanisms at work here have been proven to be amazingly effective at consuming and metabolizing targeted wastes into protein, fat and other valuable products in a clean and safe way.
Our ambition is to develop scalable solutions based on our technologies for use by EcoSystem’s partners, licensees and clients in the commercial feed, energy, chemical and waste management sectors.
EcoSystem’s technologies rely on a number of organisms, one of which is Hermetia Illucens – the Black Soldier Fly.
Hermetia are clean, energy-efficient and voracious. They rapidly consume large quantities of feed during maturation, without regard for the chemicals, toxins, bacteria and pathogens that would cripple algae and other bioreactor technologies.
Hermetia’s natural life cycle allows for the following important benefits:
Rapid conversion of waste into biomass.
Low energy demand, favorable carbon footprint and reduces the carbon footprint of the targeted feedstock source.
High tolerance to contamination equates to increased caloric uptake and survival until harvesting.
Works by itself or with other organisms in an engineered food/product chain.
Management has strong research and development background and significant experience implementing go-to-market strategies with new technologies.
Strategic partnership with experienced cleantech development company, GreenShift Corporation.
Pre-revenue today but business model includes system sales to qualified early-adopters, licensing to key strategic partners in targeted verticals, and project ownership.

EcoSystem Unveils MAGFUEL(TM) Feedstock for Biodiesel
3/17/2009 2:21 PM - Business Wire
Process Converts Food Scrap Waste into Natural Oils with Greater Yields than Soy
NEW YORK, Mar 17, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
EcoSystem Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ESYM) today announced its MAGFUEL(TM) biofuel feedstock model. EcoSystem will apply its bioreactor technology to convert food scrap waste into natural oils for biodiesel feedstock and specialty chemical applications.
The key to EcoSystem's bioreactor technology is the use of the Black Soldier Fly. When at full capacity, Black Soldier Fly food scrap waste conversion technology could yield up to 190,000 gallons of crude (non-food) natural oils per acre of bioreactor surface area annually. In comparison, soybean yields an average of 40 gallons of oil per acre annually. EcoSystem's integrated bioreactor is estimated to be deployed at a cost of less than $100 per square foot with minimal use of utilities for other than periodic cleaning and heating.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the annual food scrap waste generated per capita in the U.S. is 1,678 pounds, of which 11% are food scraps. 40% to 50% of nearly all food harvested never gets consumed according to the University of Arizona's Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology. Nationwide, household food waste adds up to $43 billion per year. Residential households waste an average of 14% of their food purchases, and fifteen percent of that includes products still within their expiration date but never opened.
EcoSystem estimates that 25% of the volume of retail, restaurant, and industrial generated food waste could be converted into Black Soldier Fly larvae. Based upon U.S. 2010 Census data, up to 100 million gallons per year of MAGFUEL(TM) natural oils could be produced and sold to U.S. biodiesel producers using EcoSystem technology.
"Competitively-priced feedstock has always been a challenge for the biodiesel industry" says Glen Courtright, President and CEO of EcoSystem. "We are excited to develop this competitively priced, high quality feedstock to the biodiesel industry by diverting food scrap waste from landfills. We are in discussions now with a number of very interested early-adopter partners for co-location of our bioreactor technology."
EcoSystem will market the MAGFUEL(TM) into the existing biodiesel industry as a blending agent for lower grade biodiesel feedstocks (e.g., choice white grease, tallow, and yellow grease) which have poor cold flow properties and high cetane values. The larvae dry weight consists of about 42% protein and 35% natural oils. The natural oil derived from the Black Soldier Fly Larvae is comprised of the following constituents: 1.6% capric acid; 53.2% lauric acid, 6.6% myristic acid, 8.4% palmitic acid, 1.7% stearic acid, 12.4% oleic acid, and 8.8% linoleic acid.
EcoSystem's revenue model will be driven by tipping fees for accepting and processing food scrap waste, MAGFUEL(TM), and other product sales.
EcoSystem's Black Soldier Fly bioreactor technology can convert a diverse array of feedstocks, including poultry and swine manure, livestock processing wastes, and food scrap waste. Black Soldier Flies are clean, energy-efficient and voracious. They rapidly consume large quantities of feed during maturation and have a high tolerance against contaminants that would cripple algae and other bioreactor technologies.

EcoSystem Applies for U.S. DOE Grant for Biofuels Feedstock Development
3/19/2009 1:47:01 PM - Business Wire
Industrial Scale Bioreactor Uses Insect Based Technology
DAYTON, Ohio, Mar 19, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
EcoSystem Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: ESYM) today announced its that it has submitted a grant application to the U.S. Department of Energy's Biomass Research and Development Initiative based on EcoSystem's proprietary bioconversion technology.
EcoSystem's application is based on the voracious appetite of the black solider fly, a non-pest insect, to convert locally available food scrap waste into biofuels feedstock and biobased products in a safe, clean and industrial scale engineered ecosystem. The demonstration project will be sized to convert 24,000 tons annually of food waste into natural oils, high protein aquaculture feed, and fertilizer. The demonstration project will be co-located with a regional waste transfer station in the greater Cincinnati-Dayton Ohio region where it will intercept and devour food waste prior to disposal in landfill. Natural oils produced in the project will be sold under EcoSystem's MAGFUEL(TM) brand to a refinery located in Adrian, Michigan, for conversion into biodiesel fuel.
"An incredible 50% of all food grown, harvested, shipped, processed, sold and served for human consumption in the U.S. ends up in landfills," said Glen Courtright, CEO and President of EcoSystem. "The amount of resources to deal with this waste is astronomical; our society is dumping nearly 26 million tons of food scraps into landfills each year. Today the U.S. is only recovering three percent of that waste stream. We have petitioned the U.S. DOE for grant funding in support of our efforts to streamline the flow of resources into, through and out of America's food chain to reduce energy consumption, carbon emissions, and transportation and disposal costs by converting food wastes into concentrated feedstocks for regional animal consumption and next generation biofuel production."
The University of Arizona estimates that the adverse environmental impact of inefficient food chain including methane emissions, land fill use, soil depletion, use of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides could be reduced by more than 25% with landfill diversion practices. Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas (GHG), 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
In his inaugural address, President Obama remarked that "We will harness...the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories ..." Courtright added: "we're certainly harnessing the soil by converting food scrap wastes into biofuels and biobased products, but we're also doing it in a sustainable, responsible, and economical way."
This volume can be increased to a much larger quantities by using EcoSystem's technology to bioconvert a diverse array of waste-derived feedstocks, including animal manure, livestock processing wastes, and other agricultural wastes into MAGFUEL(TM) biodiesel feedstocks. Black soldier flies are clean, energy-efficient and voracious. They rapidly consume large quantities of feed during maturation and have a high tolerance for contaminants that would cripple algae and other bioreactor technologies.
The objectives of EcoSystem's proposed demonstration project are to refine scale-up assumptions, optimize industrial scale breeding conditions, maximize feedstock conversion yields, evaluate natural oil blends for biodiesel, and document protein and fiber suitability for aquaculture feeds.
EcoSystem will be notified in late April 2009 if the DOE wants a full application submitted. Full grant applications are due June 11, 2009. If the grant proposal is accepted, the DOE will notify EcoSystem by July 23, 2009 and will make awards by September 30, 2009.

Rules to Limit Emissions In the Making of Ethanol
05/06/2009
"WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration on Tuesday proposed rules to limit emissions of climate-changing gases from the manufacture of ethanol, a step that would probably curtail the expansion of corn ethanol production.
In its first major policy steps on ethanol, the administration said it would help producers of biofuels who could not get credit to refinance their operations, and assist them in selling their products through a growing network of retail fuel distributors and by encouraging the manufacture of vehicles to burn it.
It said it was forming a biofuels working group made up of the agriculture and energy departments and the Environmental Protection Agency to coordinate federal actions. A goal of the group is to quickly dispense money allocated in the federal stimulus package and two previous energy bills.
The rule is intended to force the industry to help meet targets set by Congress in 2007 for reducing greenhouse-gas emissions from ethanol, even as legislators encourage its production as an alternative to gasoline.
The proposed rules for calculating the emissions of biofuel producers do not apply to plants that were under construction by December 2007. The administration added that it would invest in finding ways to help farmers use crop wastes or other biological materials as fuel.
The proposed renewable fuel standard maintains a quota for 2010 of 100 million gallons of ethanol from cellulosic sources, the woody parts of plants. The ethanol industry was looking for a signal of support from the Obama administration, especially after the collapse of gas prices and a public backlash against corn ethanol based on an argument that its production was helping to push food prices higher.
The efforts announced Tuesday will be led by the Agriculture Department. Tom Vilsack, the agriculture secretary, referring to the stimulus package and other financing, said, 'There is over $1.1 billion of opportunity here, created by the Congress, to assist in building biorefineries in helping existing refineries convert from fossil-fuel power to renewable power.'"

Tried to get a starter at .0022 but nothing Friday. This stock looks like it could be another EESO. I think Global Ethanol may be interested in buying this company. This company doesn't put out too much news and with two big press releases out in one day it could be a sign of good things to come.

NewsvineEcoSystem Corporation (ESYM) today announced today its plans to conduct operational trials of its Feedstock Machine™ at targeted poultry and swine processing companies.
The Feedstock Machine™ is an integrated, scalable solution that converts poultry and swine manure into high protein feeds, natural oils, and high quality soil amendments.
The Feedstock Machine™ consists of three major subsystems: (1) material preparation and handling, where manure is dewatered and evenly distributed to the bioreactors, (2) bioreactors, where the manure is processed by black soldier fly larvae, and (3) refining and processing, where harvested black soldier fly larvae are refined into high protein feeds and natural oils.
“We designed the Feedstock Machine™ as a modular system that can be scaled to fit most large scale swine and poultry operations” says Glen Courtright, President and CEO of EcoSystem. “We plan to conduct trials in 2009 in Ohio and Indiana with a select number of swine and poultry production facilities. These trials will provide our customers and EcoSystem with the necessary data to confirm our scale-up assumptions and to document black soldier fly based meal, oil, and casting nutritional profiles for each our customers’ feedstocks.”
Using EcoSystem’s Black Soldier Fly based technology to convert manure from Ohio’s nearly 1.8 million market hogs could yield up to 4.5 million gallons per year in natural oils for renewable fuel production and 39,000 tons of high protein animal feeds annually.
EcoSystem’s Black Soldier Fly bioreactor technology can convert a diverse array of feedstocks, including poultry and swine manure, livestock processing wastes, and food scrap waste. Black Soldier Flies are clean, energy-efficient and voracious. They rapidly consume large quantities of feed during maturation and have a high tolerance against contaminants that would cripple algae and other bioreactor technologies.

NewsvineEcoSystem Corporation (ESYM) today announced the appointment of Trevor Bourne, the founder and chief executive officer of Global Ethanol, LLC (“Global”), to EcoSystem’s board of directors.
Founded in July 2006, Global operates two ethanol plants for a total production of 160 million gallons per year (“MMGPY”). Global considers safety to be a core principle and operates its plants from a professional chemical production perspective. Mr. Bourne has extensive chemical processing and industrial construction experience, as well as significant depth in early-stage technology and company development. Mr. Bourne has held senior management positions for WMC Resources, Thiess Pty Ltd, and Multiplex Engineering Pty Ltd. Mr. Bourne has developed numerous businesses, including Multiplex Engineering Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Multiplex Construction Group. Mr. Bourne holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from RMIT University, Melbourne Australia, and also has military experience as a test pilot and former officer in the Australian Air Force. Mr. Bourne’s appointment to the EcoSystem board of directors will become effective May 31, 2009.

Engineered Ecosystems
EcoSystem is innovating industrial-scale applications of bioreactor technology that are designed to resolve compelling ecological challenges while producing value added carbon neutral products.
Our goal is to streamline the flow of resources into, through and out of our food chain, and to do it in ways that are rapidly scalable in multiple geographies. We intend to achieve this by delivering distributed, engineered ecosystems to intercept agricultural and food wastes prior to landfill or other disposal.
Our engineered ecosystems are designed to convert these wastes into feedstocks for regional animal feeds, natural oils for fuel and chemical uses, and high nutrient soil amendments.
Our first managed ecosystem is based upon the Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens). The Black Soldier Fly can cost effectively convert a diverse array of feedstocks, including poultry and swine manure, livestock processing wastes, and food scrap waste. Black Soldier Flies are clean, energy-efficient and voracious. They rapidly consume large quantities of feed during maturation and have a high tolerance against contaminants that would cripple algae and other bioreactor technologies.
The Black Soldier Fly’s natural life cycle allows for the following important benefits:
Rapid conversion of waste into biomass.
Low energy demand, favorable carbon footprint and reduces the carbon footprint of the targeted feedstock source.
High tolerance to contamination equates to increased caloric uptake and survival until harvesting.
Works by itself or with other organisms in an engineered food/product chain.
