Here’s my End of Year Summary.

A big lesson from this year for Investors is to now not only beware the Pegmatite Ann headline misleader, but also the Fractionated Pegmatite headline. Another lesson is regarding what investors consider a prospective project and will reward, namely it needs to have coarse gained spodumene with low Iron content in long intercepts near surface. This we’re told will assist to see a project survive during Lithium price weakness. It will have you scratching your head in this case, the reaction to WR1’s MRE (59MT @ 1.12% Li2O (0.6% cut off) which ticks these boxes but did not please the market enough. Another positive for Quebec was AKE’s progress on it’s mining licence for it's James Bay project.

I did notice a few horses issuing shares towards the end of year, so their market caps may inflate owing to dilution.

I have only included the Quebec projects for each company, most have other projects. Excuse typos and if you feel one company may have more info shared unfairly. I followed my interest and it may reflect. Bold at the beginning means they’ve reported spodumene from their work. I’ve also bolded when companies have results pending. I have to admit I'm surprised this race is still running, hopefully we have a winner next year.

BMM - Corvette North and Corvette NW. Earlier reported that exploration had commenced in May 23 but no results had been reported. In their 31 October Quarterly Activities Report they stated they are planning for preliminary exploratory works at the two projects. So if you’d bought in for their Quebec projects, you’d perhaps be disappointed at the pace of that exploration. Their Ontario Gorge Lithium project, 215km NE Thunder Bay, is now their Flagship project and they recently reported finding spod there.
BNZ - 75% of Ruby Hill (West and East), option to get to 100%, 1% NSR royalty. Its a 25km trend with two pegmatites highlighted Mikisiw M1 and M2. I previously noted they had found Spod crystals and they have now reported a 2,967m drill programme ( 19 holes x 150m) was completed in November. They are awaiting assay results.
BUR - Chubb. Have done 11,000m of drilling since April 23. There are two targets, Chubb Central in which they have found a stacked spodumene containing pegmatite system, and Chubb North - which they are currently drilling LCT pegmatite targets. Example drills from Chubb Central include 10.1m @ 1.03 from 170m and 4m @ 1.42% from 6m. Their Geologists are looking for new drill targets at Central, in the hope of expanding the extent of the Central target. 12 December BUR announced they had found Pollucite in two holes near their spodumene. Pollucite is the last of the magma melt to crystallise (after Tantalite and the Lithium Aluminosilicates ie spodumene) and this would provide more information to Burley’s geologists for their planning. On 22 Dec BUR reported Preliminary metallurgy results for spod samples from Central, namely lithium recoveries of 72% for high grade samples and 60% for low grade samples (both achieving > 6% Li2O commercial concentrate grades.) Ended the year with a project acquisition in Manitoba. One thing I note is that BUR often highlight’s its proximity to Sayona Quebec’s NAL operating Lithium mine, however I’m not sure that it’s a beneficial reflection for Chubb given Sayona’s notoriety. Burley is aiming to publish its maiden lithium resource over Chubb Central within six months.

C1X - Corvette Far East and La Salle (75% JV w Midland). Very little has occurred on these projects since the last update (LCT targets at CFE and tourmaline bearing pegmatites at Lasalle). This company’s Quebec projects have been viewed as nearology to Corvette and now Brunswick’s Mirage projects, and despite such good potential ground, has had very little announced to the market.
CAZ - Sundown . Fieldwork commenced 18 Oct and concluded 10 November with 304 rock chip samples sent for analysis. Results were expected in 8 - 10 weeks from 10 November, so approx 1st or 2nd week of Jan (or mid Jan allowing for Xmas). Most recent results reported to the market were focused on their REE Gascoyne project.
CBH - Carmoy, Mago North, Taiga. 13 September field work completed and 27 Rock chip samples were collected and sent to SGS for assaying. No mention of spod and results still haven’t been reported. Previously noted: Ground truthing also revealed several of the previously interpreted dykes were in fact linear glacial deposits commonly referred to as eskers covered in pale to white coloured lichen which makes them difficult to differentiate from outcropping dykes using satellite imagery.
CY5 - Pontax (up to 70%), Auclair, Sakami, Mitsumis. Cygnus has a Pontax MRE of 10.1MT @ 1.04%. Cut off 0.5% Li2O. Drilling has resumed at Pontax, possibly following up the high grade rock chips nearby, but also likely to fulfil their Stria Buy-In obligations. Cygnus announced very good rock chips at Auclair (might I suggest spectacular) as high as 6.6% and 5.5%, but the announcement fell flat. I was informed that their announcements are too pumpy, and I did read a couple of tweets about their use of adjectives. Anyway, CY5 announced 3 spodumene targets at Auclair. The initial Auriga (80m x 9m, coarse spodumene 50cm long x 10cm wide), Pegasus (2 outcrops; course grained and large crystals) and Lyra. Drilling with 2 drill rigs will commence at Auclair from mid/late January 24 and further target generation via geophysics and geochemical sampling will be conducted over Winter. The Auriga drill results are overdue, these were expected early- mid December. The London presentation stated that exploration at Sakami commenced in December 2023, but given the weather it may be desktop. The presentation also said exploration to commence in August with airborne magnetics, LiDAR, and high-resolution orthophotography.

DAF - Mia Adjacent acquired from 1 Minerals in June 23. After performing reconnaissance field work with no announcement about spod of fractionated pegmatites, DAF have advised 20 Dec that they will not progress with their option for the project. A withdrawn horse.
FIN - Cancet West, Ross, Gaspe (Clay in south Quebec). Found spod during their initial field work at Cancet West and then staked further tenements on the project. FIN expecting a 15.8km pegmatite trend at Cancet West. Further field work found second spod containing pegmatite called White Bear that is 250m from the initial find. FIN reported assay results of rock chips at White Bear (Sample 138181 with 6.5% Li% had a K/Rb ratio of 35.43 and Sample 138182 with 6.85% had a K/Rb ratio of 26) which I highlight as it’s another example of Lithium being found where K/Rb ratios are above the accepted K/Rb ratio of 15 as being required for Lithium to be present. I have highlighted other examples. I mention it because some posters are very negative when companies report K/Rb ratios under 40. FIN further reported less impressive (but still good) channel samples at White Bear. They summarise the White Bear project as a Coarse (≤70cm), spodumene-bearing high-grade lithium mineralised zone, over an approximately 300m strike length by 100m at its widest within five pegmatite outcrops. Will do a maiden 1,500m drill programme to test the White Bear Lithium Discovery during Q1 2024.

Two days of field work was completed at Ross and no Lithium was found. The samples were lab analysed for pathfinder elements, which showed TREO and Th in two samples which FIN believe may indicate Ross may have NYF type pegmatites (as opposed to LCT pegmatites). N.b. there are two types of rare element pegmatites NYF or LCT. A consultant was engaged to find targets at Gaspe but I haven’t seen any field work reported.

FRS - 50% JV with ALX Resources for Hydra Lithium Project. It comprises 8 smaller projects including: Volta (bw PMT and CBH), Echo and Nike (near PLN), Sprite (just above LLI Brisk area 3), Cobra/Viper (near KNI Mia Northand RDS) and Python West & Python East (up far north). There has been no further Ann since my last summary, which was the 27 Oct field work commenced at Volta and that they had obtained LiDAR. Notable since the last summary is that their MD and CEO Michael Anderson resigned and that they raised money to support exploration on their WA projects.
IEC - Ilama. 11 day field work completed. 83 rock chips sent for analysis and were expected to be reported in the Dec quarter but weren’t reported. No spod was found. They found columbite, beryl, tourmaline, and muscovite in some of the rock samples.
JBY - 4 projects: Joule (near RDS and SUM Castor), Aero (above LLI Brisk area 1), Aqua (b/w FIN’s Cancet West) and Triolus (near SYA Moblan). Aero: JBY has reported two fields of fractionated pegmatites and a smallish spodumene crystal at the Warhawk outcrop. Drilling is planned for Q1, 24 to follow up.

Aqua: 123 LCT pegmatite targets from LIDAR and high resolution photography, some are 200m East of FIN’s original spod find at Cancet West. Field work is planned at Aqua and Joule in the first half of 2024. Can’t see planned works for Troilus.

KNI - Fraser, Mia North, and Nemaska South Lithium. Field work was conducted at Mia North and Fraser during May and June. Field work was conducted at Nemaska in August. 67 samples were collected across Mia North and Fraser, and 48 samples at Nemaska South. In the quarterly KNI reported that all assay results have been received and no LCT pegmatites were found across all 3 properties. KNI haven’t said they’re discontinuing the projects, rather have mentioned gold exploration potential. I believe KNI can probably be disqualified from the cup.
KOB - JB1 project. There has been no further update since the last summary. KOB has done a 2 week sampling programme and collected 117 outcrop samples and 20 till samples. They have been submitted for analysis, assay results were expected in late November (but weren’t annouced) and the complete till analysis expected to follow in early 2024.
L1M - Dalmas and Hiver. Initial Field work completed in October at both projects; explored 113 pegmatite targets at Dalma and 52 targets at Hiver. These targets formed seven clustered areas across the two projects. 32 samples were taken across the project areas that have been sent off for lab analysis but not reported yet. The geologists believe they found green Beryllium (Beryllium usually crystallises out of the melt before the aluminosilicates). The focus over the coming months will be a review of all previous geological and geophysical data available for the area that may further accelerate exploration efforts. L1M looks to be exploring their WA projects during these reviews.
LLI —Trieste, Brisk. Trieste: reported 6 spodumene containing pegmatite outcrops on the Trieste project. Dyke 3 was 1.4m long crystal with rock chip of 7.44% Li2O.

LLI drilled 1,192m over 14 drill holes at Dyke 1 and reported impressive intercepts of spodumene eg 74.77m. It received some criticism that some intercepts were down dip, reminding me of criticism of WC8 initial drill holes. Reading the JORC table on page 17 of their ann, LLI explains why they drilled down dip (This hole was deliberately drilled sub-perpendicular to other drill holes, to test the variation in spodumene content and lithium grade where it was recorded in outcrop and drill hole core). Samples were selected for assaying and results expected by January 2024. I also spoke to LLI about Brisk and they have said they intend to explore Brisk now given the spod find at the nearby JBY Aero project.

LU7 - Apollo, Adina West and Adina South. Apollo: Field work was completed in August/Sept. 209 rock chip samples were collected and a 300 x 150m soil sampling programme was conducted. LU7 received all the final soil laboratory analysis from ALS Laboratories. Interestingly I did not see these results reported. LU7 has said they will use this information to devised a drilling strategy in 2024 along a major east-west trending fault shear corridor feature. LU7 has released a couple of announcements regarding their Lithium Carbonate Refinery Study.
MEG - Cyclone and K. Field work at 30% of Cyclone completed and reported 9 Oct. Fieldwork at K was scheduled to commence Mid Oct, but no ann to confirm it has commenced. Remaining 70% of Cyclone Lithium Project to be “ground truthed” in 1H, CY24. Last quarter they released ann about their Iaho North Fork Rare Earth Project.
MLS - Corvette River. MLS found coarse gain pegmatites, sampled and submitted for analysis. Results were reported 21 Dec, didn’t find spod but pathfinders for LCT pegmatites (Rb, CS). L273631 (from the Felicie Prospect that is 2.5km from CV9) looked their most promising with RB of 3050ppm but only 163 ppm of Lithium. This is very similar to me to C1X so far. MLS will now seek government approvals to launch a priority channel sampling and drilling program across the entire width of the CR1 LCT pegmatite discovery. MLS also announced work on their other projects.
MRZ - Two Quebec Projects. 1 Northern Lights project which comprises Bohier, Lac Barou, Chateau Fort and the Eastman Léran Project (Northern Lights Minerals Pty Ltd, MRZ’s 75% owned subsidiary (NLM), owns 100% of the Eastmain Léran Project) which is near near BNZ. Also a JV with Azimut to earn 70% of the Wapatik Gold-Copper Nickel Project near the James Bay deposit.

MRZ did field work on Bohier, Léran and Wapatik projects. MRZ are exploring the Bohier and Léran projects for Lithium.

Bohier: MRZ found outcropping spodumene bearing pegmatites in the South-West corner of the property and a second exploration programme of channel sampling reported 6.05m @ 1.78% Li2O, 7m @ 1.71% Li2O and 1m @ 1.97% Li2O. 18 samples remain outstanding in the Actlabs laboratory facility in Val d’or, Quebec, although MRZ fast tracked and reported the 3 most promising results (above).

Léran hosts two distinct Boulder fields that MRZ will continue to actively explore:

Eastmain Léran Wahemen boulder field high grade discoveries – 2.41%, 4.02%, 3.51% Li2O (announced on 18th September and 21st November 2023); and
Eastmain Léran Central boulder discovery and 8km Tantalum zone – delivering 1.12% Li2O

They plan to drill these projects next year. I didn’t see results for the JV.

MTC - Sauvolles (East, Central and West). 12 day field exploration completed focused on 11 priority targets. Identified multiple highly fractionated pegmatites. Systematic grab sampling, rock sawing and channel sampling cobtained. The Company will also aim to obtain geophysical field work such as airborne and ground gravity surveys and LiDAR surveys. These results, once received, will be analysed and compiled for follow up exploration programmes.
NYM - Le Myone, Pontax East, Walrus Island. Did field work at Pontax East and samples are at the lab. Results not reported yet. Walrus Island: Working through access arrangements for exploration, none performed to date. Le Moyne: Interestingly NYM announced that they did field work on this project but did not announce any results. Instead they discussed access to Le Moyne.
OCN - Monaro. Field work completed and reported. No spod found but pathfinder elements (eg K/Rb ratios ranging from 24.3 to 40.8 and up to 3,179ppm Rb), to poorly evolved with a K/Rb ratio of up to 200 17 august. A total of 175 rock samples (including cut channel samples) collected have been sent to the ALS lab in Val-d’Or, Québec. Oceana acquired an option to purchase a 100% interest in the 207 mineral claims that comprise the Monaro project in July 2023. The option expires on 31 December 2023, but subject to the listing rules, may be extended at the sole discretion of Oceana to 31 March 2024. No announcement about whether they’ve exercised the option or extended it, although SH voted to issue shares should the board elect to extend the option and acquire the project.
OLY - Cadillac. The vendor’s first pass drilling resulted in grades up to 1m @ 3.14% Li2O in hole CAD-22-04A and spodumene crystals observed in core; but following OLY’s field work they have only reported a trend of highly fractionated, lithium fertile pegmatites. (Thirteen rock chip samples from the Dyke M zone recently assayed returned a maximum value of 387 ppm Li2O, with 5 samples > 200ppm Li2O. A strong trend of the potassium to rubidium ratio less than 30 (K/Rb <30) in pegmatites has been demonstrated at Dyke H (1km SSW of Wells-Lacourcière) and at Dykes F/G (1km NNE of Wells-Lacourcière). OLY have started approvals process to try to drill over Winter and said they are continuing field work.
OM1 - Lac Des Montagnes. OM1 are currently suspended pending the release of an announcement of a material acquisition. No further details on the ASX but the details are easily found via news websites; namely a friendly takeover of TSX listed Dixie Gold. It is seen by some as more-so a way for Dixie to access the ASX and their investors. No further results announced for the LDM project but they are planning a maiden drilling programme during Winter.
PIM - Adina East. Lac Bigniba, Lac Rug. Completed field work at Adina East and reported fractionated pegmatites ( ie peraluminous pegmatite outcrops and Aluminous minerals). They didn’t report finding spodumene but the did say Mineral analysis of samples to be undertaken to determine the mineralogy (including the presence of spodumene) with results due early December 2023. I didn’t see those results reported. PIM plans to do follow up field mapping and sampling in Q2 2024. PIM also completed field work at the other 2 projects and reported pegmatite outcrops at Lac Rug. Samples due to be reported in January 24. LIDAR imagery to identify accessible outcrops is planned for Q2 2024 to follow up.
PLN - La Grande Riviere, Quatre East and Quatre West. Newly listed in September and completed 3 days of field work at La Grande. They reported 9 outcropping pegmatites but really it’s just not enough time on ground. They plan to do a comprehensive field work programme in the next Quebec Summer. PLN have done work on their Ontario Root Lake project, nestled within GT1’s Root project (not the one they got their Mining Licence for) and acquired another Ontario project. They also promptly had their NED Gerard O’Donovan resign so as to focus his work on MD at BM8, but then he also resigned from that role. From my not very close monitoring, that leaves him as NED at JBY in the Canadian Projects.
PR1 - La Forge. Initial field work in May 23 but didn’t find spod crystals. Field work was resumed 20 Aug, 292 rock chip samples sent to ALS but I haven't seen the results ann yet. Following receipt of assay results the company will include geophysical surveys and drill hole testing of prospective targets. PR1 did release assays for their Sweden project, as high as 11.7% Lithium in Mica. This may have got some investors excited but those more knowledgeable knew this meant the lithium is unlikely to be in economical spodumene. PR1 received a please explain from the ASX. I find this interesting as their NED James (also from OM1) is listed as one of two experts at Discovery Alert (a paid subscription service that highlights new discoveries). Discovery Alert warned that LLI’s hits may be misleading, I wonder what they would have said about this PR1 announcement? Their website doesn’t list a report about this potential PR1 project.
RB6 - Ceiling. 9 day field work completed 7 November, 122 rock chip samples were collected across the property, with assay results expected in late 2023. They haven’t been reported yet. RB6 didn’t confirm spodumene rather found an unknown aluminosilicate mineral with the appropriate crystal habit and cleavages at multiple sites. They have announced work on a WA project.
RBX - Wali and Ernst Lake - 20 Sept ann multiple pegmatite outcrops at both Wali and Ernst Lake over 14 days of field work and 84 rock chips had been sent to ALS labs. No spod observed. These results have not been announced.
RDS - Radisson East and Sakami, also a JV with Galan (GLN) for 3 (Taiga, Camaro and Hell Cat). RDS have announced targets for all their projects and but so far have not completed field work.

JV Projects: the previous owner did basic geologic reconnaissance to assess the prospectivity of the Taiga-Camaro-Hellcat properties. Found pathfinder elements (e.g. trends to very low ratios of K/Rb, Mg/Li, and Nb/Ta), while two pegmatite samples show Ta values above 100 ppm.

Radisson East have identified 6 targets and Sakami have identified 18 targets. Preparations and planning, and liaison with First Nations has commenced for an inaugural field program to test and confirm several of the targets for their potential to contain lithium.

REC - Express and Wapistan. Completed LIDAR and field work at both projects. REC ann 4 target areas at both Express and Wapistan, but no significant findings. Samples were sent for assay but I haven’t seen them reported. They plan to continue field work in 2024 at both projects. REC may have suffered from being close to Q2’s Mia project, in which the market was disappointed by some results Q2 reported.
RGL - Abigail. RGL had 120 days to do dd from 31 Aug. 18 September they mobilised to site to do DD field work. In their October quarterly RGL they will to undertake a more comprehensive greenfields generation program in the early 2024 field season so long as the Sept results warrant it. I haven’t seen an ann with the field work results yet.
SUM - Castor. 10 Nov Field reconnaissance and LiDAR and high-resolution aerial imagery completed. Over 150 samples sent for analysis and assay results due by the end of the year. Haven’t seem them reported. Castor has pegmatites mapped along trend from Spodumene occurrences on the same greenstone belt to the SW. In addition to the presence of pegmatites, they also identified several copper-gold targets. SUM announced work on other projects.

Have a great and safe New Year. I’m off for 2 weeks holiday with the family.
