Medarex and Centocor Enter Broad Antibody Development Agreement

PRINCETON, N.J., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Medarex, Inc. MEDX announced today a broad antibody development agreement with Centocor, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson JNJ . This agreement allows Centocor and other affiliates of Johnson & Johnson to access the HuMAb-Mouse(TM) technology for an unlimited number of targets. Under the terms of the agreement, Medarex will receive technology access fees, and could also receive license fees, milestone fees and royalties on product sales.
Centocor has developed a high-affinity human antibody from the HuMAb-Mouse, which is in pre-clinical development, and has other product candidates as well. Specifics about the clinical applications are confidential.

Ich finds toll, zeigt dass die was tun für/mit meinem Geld *g*?
Es zeigt sich, daß Medarex eine große Zukunft noch vor sich hat. Trotzdem würde ich momentan mit Nachkäufen abraten, da der Markt kurzfristig nach unten abtauchen wird. Mit Abstauberlimits kann man herrlich in USA einkaufen.

Ziel ist eine gemeinsame Entwicklung von Antikörpern für eine
noch nicht festgelegte Zahl von Targets.
Centocor wird laut
den Vertragsvereinbarungen Zugriff auf Medarex`s Transgenic- Mouse-Technologie haben. Eine
Technologie die es ermöglicht die Gene von Mäusen so
abzuändern, dass von den Mäusen bestimmte Antikörper "produziert" werden.
Man will völlig humane, monoklonale Antikörper produzieren. Dies sind
maßgeschneiderte Antikörper die sich an vorher bestimmte molekulare Targets
heften und so Krankheiten bekämpfen.
Medarex erhält aus der Kooperation
Gebühren für die Technologiebereitstellung, Lizenzgebühren, Meilensteinzahlungen und Lizenzzahlungen für
spätere Produktumsätze.
