Diversinet Partners With Wireless Solutions To Provide Secure Mobile Applications

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, APR 11, 2001 (CCN Newswire via COMTEX) -- New Horizons in Mobile Internet and Mobile Banking Have Been Opened Up by an Agreement Between Diversinet and Wireless Solutions to Develop Security Infrastructures for Wireless Transactions and Data Transmission

RSA Conference 2001 - Diversinet Corp. ( NASDAQ SMALL CAPVNT), a leading provider of m-commerce security infrastructure solutions, and Wireless Solutions, one of Europe`s first WASPs (Wireless Application Service Provider), today announced a strategic agreement to integrate Diversinet`s infrastructure for secure wireless data transactions into the Italian firm`s Business-to-Business platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wireless Solutions will resell Diversinet`s wireless security technology in the Italian Market. The two companies will jointly focus on bringing end-to-end security solutions, including system integration and application development, to service providers and the enterprise market.

Wireless Solutions, a pioneer of leading-edge technologies offering new business opportunities in high-growth, high-potential markets, develops services and technologies for robust, reliable Mobile Banking and Business-to-Business Messaging platforms for various users-professionals, public and private-linked to the financial and banking sectors.

A recent survey by Boston Consulting Group shows that financial and banking application users, who represent 22% of all WAP enabled phone owners, make the widest use of data transmission and commerce transactions over mobile devices. However, the survey also found that they are the most sensitive and vulnerable group to the question of Internet security.

Diversinet shares find upside after signing deal (DVNT, AETH) By August Cole
Diversinet (DVNT) jumped 18 percent after finalizing a contract with Aether Systems (AETH) for the
use of Diversinet`s technology in Aether`s wireless e-commerce platform. By deploying Diversinet
technology, Aether will equip its current and future wireless data offerings with digital certificate
software that safeguards transactional data. Diversinet shares are up 1 3/4 to 11 3/4. Aether also
signed an agreement with credit card giant Visa to work together to develop services aimed at
supporting mobile e-commerce transactions, but shares have not gotten much of a boost. Aether is
up 3 7/8, or 2.6 percent, to 153 7/8.
