I have a chance to go to the Iguazu falls in a couple of
months. Is it worth? What can I exspect to see? Thanks a
lot.

Iguassu Falls is the widest waterfall in the world. I`ve
been to Victoria Falls in Africa and Niagara Falls in New
York, which are the other two wide waterfalls, and Iguassu
is the most magnificent one of all. What you will see is
one of the most awesome sites on the planet.

Melanie is right: they are spectacular. Don`t miss the
chance to see them, from both the Argentine and Brazilian
sides.

it`s right...the falls are phantastic. go there early in
the morning with your own breakfast in your
bag...unbelivably! i would recommend you to visit brasilian
side first, then on second day argentinian side (it`s
great!).

Seeing the Iguazu Falls is something you`ll never forget.
It`s absolutely worth it. But it`s true that you should
visit the brazilian side first and wait until 5:00pm until
the tucans wake up...

If you like birds, there`s a great bird park just outside
the national park where the Falls are (in Brazil). It`s
called Parques des Aves.

As all have said above its great and some sound advise as
well! Foz is a great place to stay and should not be left
off your travel plans. Take lots of films and if you like
Racoons you can`t miss them. Take the shorter boat ride in
the Ribs that take you right under the falls (better on the
Argentinean side but not the long trip as its expensive and
not all that good.) The Dam is worth a visit if you have the
time as it is a free tour and very good with a film show in
different languages and a coach trip around and over the
Dam, and all you have to pay for is your bus fare from town
and back. Have fun you will love Foz its great.

The poster above says that "if you like raccoons you can`t
miss them," but the animals that you will see actually are
coati (or coatimundi), which the dictionary defines as
"related to and resembling the raccoon but having a longer
snout and tail." (Forgive me, "Do It," but I`m a retired
editor, and sometimes I can`t stop myself from correcting
what others write!)

Die Wasserfälle von Iguazu sind 100 Meter hoch und erstrecken sich über eine Breite von fünf Kilometer.

Es gibt eine argentinische sowie eine brasilianische Seite.

Unmittelbar oberhalb der Fälle befindet sich ein ca. drei Kilometer breiter Laufsteg.

Ob sich das lohnt?
Es ist ein überwältigendes Naturerlebnis. Auf brasilianischer Seite befindet sich ein phantastisches Hotel, dessen Zimmer alle zu den Wasserfällen ausgerichtet sind. Es soll das zweitbeste Brasiliens sein ( das beste ist in Manaus). Ich war in beiden und kann nur sagen: Spitze.
Vom Hotel gibt es einen schmalen Pfad oberhalb der Fälle entlang mit herrlichen Aussichten in die Fälle.
Du kannst auch einen Hubschrauberrundflug buchen. Der fliegt dann runter und Du schwebst praktisch in den Wassernebeln und hast das Gefühl, in den Fällen zu sein. Recht aufregend.
Das Ganze ist bei mir allerdings 12 Jahre her. Nehme aber an, dass die Fälle noch da sind
