Thomas Tuttle is a Director of Global Emerging Markets North America, Inc. Prior to this he was the Indonesian country manager for Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for capital raising and advisory services in that market. He has received undergraduate degrees in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and Economics from the Woodrow Wilson School. He also graduated as a Baker Scholar and the recipient of the Henry Ford II and Thomas and Edna Wolfe Award from the MBA program at the Harvard Business School.
Edward J. Tobin is a Director of Global Emerging Markets North America, Inc. Prior to joining GEM, Mr. Tobin was Managing Director of Lincklaen Partners, a private venture capital group. Previously, he had been a portfolio manager with Neuberger and Berman and prior to that Vice President of Nordberg Capital, Inc., an institutional brokerage in New York City. Mr. Tobin received his MBA from the Wharton School, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Economics (cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Christopher Brown is a Director of Global Emerging Markets North America, Inc. and a partner in GEM, Ltd., where he oversees the New York office and manages private placements on a global basis. He began with Drexel Burnham Lambert as an associate in 1985. He later joined Smith Barney as an Investment Advisor from 1986 to 1988 and worked for Shearson Lehman Brothers from 1988 to 1993. Mr. Brown attended UCLA.
Mark F. Durfee is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Mr. Durfee was a partner of Exeter Capital L.P., a management buyout firm. Prior to that position, he was a vice president of mergers & acquisitions at Salomon Smith Barney and a vice president at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. Mr. Durfee graduated from the University of Wyoming.
Julio Marquez is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets, where he oversees the Latin American investment and advisory business. Prior to joining GEM he was a senior banker and Director of Analytics at Violy, Byorum & Partners. Mr. Marquez, a Mexican citizen, has 15 years of experience in Latin American M&A, as a Director at Prudential Securities, a Vice President at Wasserstein Perella, and an Associate at Citibank. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Charles Krusen is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Mr. Krusen is an experienced capital markets executive with over 25 years of service with premiere institutions including Citigroup, UBS PaineWebber, and Societe Gnerale. With a recent focus on private placements. Mr. Krusen has been involved in varying degrees with originating, structuring, and placing over 100 transactions for public and private companies over the last five years. He has an extensive background in financial derivatives and structured products. He is an honors graduate of Harvard College.
Stuart Sundlun is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Prior to this he worked extensively in Russia dealing with joint ventures for his own company, Grosvenor Equities, Inc. and was an associate in investment banking at Lehman Brothers. He has directed, managed, and structured investments in distressed companies and has also helped raised funds for money managers. Mr. Sundlun received an MBA in finance from Columbia University and a BA in international relations from Harvard University.
Alexander Timken is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Prior to this he worked extensively in private equity investments in oil and gas exploration and production companies in the US and Canada. He also worked extensively in Eastern Europe and Japan for his family’s industrial manufacturing company. He received an MBA from Harvard University and a BA in English Literature from Princeton University.
Alexander T. Shang is a Vice President of GEM Advisors, Inc., specializing in private placement of convertible securities, with particular focus on Asian companies or companies doing business in Asia. Previously, he was a Vice President in the Emerging Markets Group at Furman Selz, specializing in raising capital for Chinese companies. Mr. Shang also has held positions at Financial Security Assurance, a bond insurer, and at Dean Witter as a fixed income analyst covering electric utilities. Mr. Shang graduated from Columbia University with bachelor degrees in economics and computer science. He also received a MSC in management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Shang is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research.
Bryan D. Legate is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Prior to this he founded and served as Chairman of the Board of River Oaks Trading, L.P., an equity securities trading firm. Mr. Legate is also co-founder and partner of KL Group, a consulting firm specializing in commercialization of intellectual property for public and private companies and institutions. He holds a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and an undergraduate degree, with distinction, from Princeton University.
William B. Boyd, III is President of GEM Advisors, Inc., bringing 30 years of administrative, operational and sales experience within the banking, securities and insurance industries. Mr. Boyd has had a distinguished career starting in 1969 with First Pennsylvania Bank. Starting in 1971 and through the end of 1995 Mr. Boyd either worked as a manger, principal, General Partner, president and owner of various retail securities firms. By the end of 1995 Mr. Boyd had found his way to the GEM Group where he operates GEM Advisors, Inc. a NASD broker-dealer specializing in private placements. In 1996 Mr. Boyd also formed and operated a second broker dealer, GEM Investments Ltd.
Rick Joshi is a Vice President of GEM Advisors, Inc. Prior to this he gained substantial emerging market experience in fund management as well as corporate finance as the Vice President of Bombay-based Times Guaranty, a leading Indian financial services firm. He previously held senior marketing management positions with Oracle, Hewlett-Packard and Intel in Silicon Valley, California. Mr. Joshi holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Idaho as well as an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

würde ein Unternehmen wie GEM in MBX investieren, wenn alles nur Lüge wäre ?? Dies zu glauben ist wohl schwerer als das MBX WIRKLICH entprechende Aufträge hat !!
Die Fragen sind echt berechtigt. Sind die Jungs von GEM spekulativ auf olle Aktien aus, oder warum investieren sie in die jüngsten Pleitefirmen: Micrologica, Metabox ... Kabel wird doch wohl hoffentlich den Reigen nicht fortsetzen? Obwohl - man hört ja schon Gerüchte über Liquiditätsprobleme.
Die Anlagestrategie von GEM würde ich gerne durchschauen. Oder müssen die einfach um jeden Preis ihre Gelder platzieren?

Noch einmal: würde ein Unternehmen wie GEM (immerhin AAA rating)Geld in eine Firma wie MBX investieren, wenn sie nicht vorher:
a) das Produkt gesehen haben ?
b) Markt und Marktchancen genau analysiert haben ?
c) evtl. Kenntnisse über die Kunden von MBX hätten ?

die MBX ist wie ein Streckbett auf dem im
Mittelalter den Leuten die Glieder
ein bisschen gedehnt wurden. Man kann sich dieses
Foltergerät auch heute noch in alten Burgen ansehen.
Man sollte aber nicht auf ihm liegen.
Also mein Rat, steh schnell wieder auf und schaffe
eine geistige Distanz zwischen dir und dem Gerät.
