UPS Event Marketing

The GEM Group works with United Parcel Service (UPS) on a number of event marketing initiatives, including the UPS Olympic partnership and the company‘s motor sports sponsorships of NASCAR and their Winston Cup team. For the Olympic program, GEM negotiated and managed all aspects of the UPS Olympic involvement at the 2000 Olympic Games, including a series of field marketing programs conducted on-site in Sydney. Additionally, GEM implemented two key grassroots Olympic programs for UPS: the Olympic Sports Legacy and the Athlete Training Assistance Program. For the NASCAR program, GEM provides strategic counsel and creative development of customer and employee programs on a local, regional and national basis.

The founding partners of The GEM Group have between them over 30 years of consecutive global industry experience. Besonders interessant fand ich die Zusammenarbeit mit
UPS . LBC plant doch seine Logistik zu verbessern .

Meine Meinung ist , das auch durch diesen Investor , weitere
Verbindungen geschlossen werden können .
Ich hoffe die Führung von LBC ist nicht ganz auf den Kopf gefallen und
kann die Verbindungen der ganzen Investoren bald ausnutzen . Einige Bsp. gibt es ja schon z.B. mit Pro7 und
Werbung.

Der Internethändler Letsbuyit.com hat frisches Kapital erhalten. Ein New Yorker Investor hat Investitionen in Höhe von 25 Mio. Euro zugesagt. Ende 2002 will das Unternehmen nun in die Gewinnzone kommen. Weiter teilte das niederländische Unternehmen am Montag mit, dass der Nettobetriebsverlust im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr 2000 bei rund 142 Mio Euro gelegen habe. Der Umsatz wurde demnach mit 38,2 Mio. beziffert.

Die Investitionszusage stamme von der in New York ansässigen Private Equity Gruppe GEM Group, teilte Letsbuyit am Montag vor Börsenbeginn mit. Das New Yorker Unternehmen stelle Eigenkapital zur Verfügung und verpflichte sich, Aktien von Letsbuyit im Wert bis zu 25 Mio. Euro zu zeichnen. Die zeitliche Abfolge könne der Internethändler über Kapitalerhöhungen unter Ausschluss der Bezugsrechte allein bestimmen.

Letsbuyit will nach eigenen Angaben die zusätzlichen Finanzmittel einsetzen, um weiter zu wachsen und damit die für Ende kommenden Jahres angestrebte Profitabilität zu erreichen.

Das am Neuen Markt notierte Unternehmen war im vergangenen Jahr in finanzielle Schwierigkeiten geraten, hatte dann aber eine Kapitalspritze von 52 Mio. Euro erhalten, die die Geschäfte des Internethändlers absicherten.
