Trotz des enormen Anstiegs der letzen Tage (Kursverdopplung in den letzten 8 Handelstagen von 1,5$ auf über 3$!!) sind weiter steigende Kurse sehr gut möglich.

Acclaim reports Q2 net profit

GLEN COVE, N.Y., April 10 (Reuters) - Video software maker Acclaim Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ:AKLM) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter profit, crediting the results on cost-cutting moves that also resulted in lower revenues.

Glen Cove, N.Y.-based Acclaim reported second-quarter earnings of $500,000 or 1 cent per diluted share on revenues of $40.4 million. The comparable figures for the second quarter last year were a net loss of $19 million or 34 cents per share on revenues of $65.9 million.

The single analyst polled by Thomson Financial/First Call had forecast a second-quarter loss this year of 16 cents per share.

"The company achieved profitability in the quarter on lower net revenues primarily through the reduction in its operating expenses," the company said in a statement. "Operating expenses for the second quarter decreased by 48 percent from the same period one year ago."

Acclaim also said it expects to remain profitable in its third and fourth fiscal quarters.

Irgendwie scheinen diese Zahlen damals Mitte April kaum jemanden interessiert zu haben.


2.: Zur Zeit sind Spielsoftwaretitel sehr gefragt.
Man schaue sich nur einmal die Werte Electronic Arts (ERTS) oder Activision (ATVI) an. Die Branche profitiert wohl von der Play Station2 und v.a. von den Phantasien der Micrsofot X-Box.
