Hey Landlord,

weißt Du warum Sepracor so extrem abgeht ? Ich habe nirgends Infos gefunden. Zur Zeit bin ich dabei einige Bioaktien zur Anlage auszuwählen. Sepracor ist auch so eine. Wie siehst Du die Zukunft. Andererseits bieten sich natürlich wieder günstige Einstiegskurse.

Wichtiges Medikament von Sepracor hat keine (kaum) Wirkung. Deshalb hat Eli Lilly die Patentvereinbarung mit Sepracor aufgelöst.



Sepracor tumbles 40 percent (SEPR, LLY) by Tomi Kilgore

Sepracor (SEPR) is tumbling $47.81, or 40 percent, to $73 pre-market trading. Eli Lilly (LLY) said that it has decided to terminate its license agreement with Sepracor for its R-fluoxetine, anti-depressant treatment, due “an evaluation of evolving clinical data.” Sepracor said that R-fluoxetine, at the highest dose tested, demonstrated a "clinically insignificant effect," and the development of a lower dose would delay a new drug application by at least two years. Lilly said it would return existing scientific data to Sepracor.

Hi!
Jetzt will ich mich mal unbeliebt machen.
Ich halte SEPR nach wie vor für ein tolles Unternehmen. Die Geschichte mit Prozac II war doch eh mehr oder weniger gelaufen seit dem Lizenzurteil im August.
Und wie ihr gesehen habt, gibt es schneller eine Kurserholung als man glaubt – von gut 100 auf 145 Euro in 3 Monaten.
Ich wette, dass SEPR in 3 Monaten wieder da steht, wo sie gestern waren. Oder höher, wenn mit Claritin alles klappt.
Klar, so ein Rückschlag ist böse, aber eigentlich doch nur ein Grund zum Nachkaufen.

Ich weiß nicht was Ihr wollt, sind doch prima Eintiegskurse, so billig gibts die bald nicht mehr...hab nochmal 140 nachgelegt bei 85 euro, ist das totale Schnäppchen...außerdem sind die ja nicht nur abhängig von Prozac, Pipeline ist voll.
Vergleicht mal mit dem Fall Cephalon, die haben sich im nu wieder von dem 50% sturz erholt..

und ich hab mich am 19.10 geärgert, dass ich bei 83 nicht aufgestockt habe. momentan wäre ich über die 83 froh...
...froh um rauszukommen. da ziehen die bios an, und die kohle liegt fest in so nem abkackwert. grrrr.
na ja, langfristig sieht es wohl gar nicht übel aus...

Ich glaube auch, daß Sepracor langfristig wieder top ist. Es wird noch ein paar Wochen dauern, bis niemand mehr an Prozac denkt. Dann wird auch Sepracor wieder laufen. Die haben noch genug Potential in der Pipeline!

UPDATE 2-Schering-Plough shares downgraded, stock drops

NEW YORK, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Wall Street stock analysts
heaped downgrades on Schering-Plough Corp. on Friday
after the drug company announced production troubles that could
cut earnings, leading to a 14.6 percent drop in its stock
price.
Shares of the maker of the blockbuster allergy drug
Claritin closed at $41.25, down $7.07, on the New York Stock
Exchange. The stock, which has in the past 52 weeks has ranged
from $30.50 to $60, fell as low as $40.03 during the session.
The stock posted the fifth largest decline in percentage
terms on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.
Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Bear Stearns, J.P. Morgan,
Credit Suisse First Boston and Raymond James & Associates cut
their earnings forecasts for the company for the next two years
as a result of problems at Schering-Plough`s manufacturing
plants.
Analysts fear that the production troubles could delay
approval of Clarinex, a drug that was expected to maintain
Schering-Plough`s allergy franchise when Claritin`s patents
expire in December 2002.
Schering-Plough said its first-quarter earnings will drop
as much as 15 percent from 42 cents a share a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by First Call/Thomson Financial had on
average expected a 48 cent profit.
The company said on Thursday that the Food and Drug
Administration found it failed to adhere to "Good Manufacturing
Processes, primarily relating to production processes, controls
and procedures." The plants affected, it said, were in Union,
N.J.; Kenilworth, N.J.; Manati, Puerto Rico; and Las Piedras,
Puerto Rico.
Credit Suisse First Boston downgraded Schering-Plough to
hold from strong buy and cut its earnings estimates to $1.64 a
share from $1.87 for 2001 and to $1.84 from $2.08 for 2002.
Raymond James & Associates analyst Mike Krensavage cut
earnings estimates on the stock, but raised the investment
rating to strong buy from market perform this morning when he
saw the drop in the stock price.
Krensavage said his 12-month price target on
Schering-Plough is $45 based on earnings per share estimates of
$1.55 from $1.89 in 2001 and $1.90 from $2.16 in 2002.
J.P. Morgan analyst Carl Seiden wrote in a research note to
"stay away from the stock until the $30 level."
Faraz Naqvi, portfolio manager at the Dresdner RCM Global
Healthcare Fund, said his fund has been buying the stock in the
$40 and $41 range during Friday`s trading.
Any delays in resolving the production problems would weigh
on the stock price and make the company more vulnerable to a
takeover, Naqvi said. "Merck (& Co) could acquire this company
for $60 a share and it still would be accretive to earnings on
day one," he added.
Companies with Schering-Plough ties were not spared from
losing market value. Despite saying it would not be affected by
Schering-Plough production problems, Enzon Inc. , a
maker of a component of a Schering-Plough`s hepatitis C drug,
fell 2.68 percent. Sepracor Inc. , which licensed
rights to the Clarinex allergy drug to Schering-Plough, fell
10.5 percent.
Until Thursday`s close, Schering-Plough shares had matched
the performance of the American Stock Exchange`s Pharmaceutical
Index <.DRG>, which tracks the value of large drug makers, over
the past year. Friday`s activity, however, had the stock
underperforming the index, which was down 0.82 percent at
403.84, by 14 percent.
