Ich finde, dass es um unsere Vertex in der letzten Zeit ganz schön ruhig geworden ist. Warum schreibt keiner mehr etwas? Seid Ihr nach dem "Crash" überhaupt noch investiert? Wo seht Ihr den Kurs bis Jahresende?

Bin seit längerem investiert und bleibe das auch.

Ich bin ganz froh das Vertex hier nicht so intensiv behandelt wird, denn die meisten stark besprochenen Aktien leiden sehr. Bei Vertex ist nicht das Jahresende 2000 wichtig sondern das Jahresende 2003.

Wenn Ihr einfach einmal ein paar andere Boards Euch ansehen würdet, dann würdet Ihr auch sehen, daß eine VRTX neben einer MLNM hier der offensichtlich heißest diskutierteste US-Bio-Wert ist, wo nahezu jeder Anleger offensichtlich zwischenzeitlich reingeförtscht ist.

Ist es nicht eigentlich egal, wo eine VRTX Mitte Dezember steht.Oder war da nicht noch der Eichel??

Denke spätestens morgen sehen wir wieder 3 stellige rote Zahlen bei den Indizes.
Die Wahl ist noch lang nicht aus und an den Wirtschaftsdaten hat sich niiix geändert.

Ich habe sowohl die Aktie, als auch den Call. Bin beim Call jetzt auch wieder im Plus. Wollte eigentlich nachkaufen, als der Briefkurs bei 1,15 Euro lag. Hatte aber leider kein Geld und nicht genug Mut, mein Konto noch weiter ins minus zu ziehen. Läuft jetzt aber wirklich gut.

das 3TC zweimal täglich. Dieser Versuch schreibt 210 Patienten in mehr als 30 Mitte in den
Vereinigten Staaten ein und setzt Sicherheit und Antivirenwirksamkeit jeder Regierung über eine
Zeitdauer von 48 Wochen fest. Studie 30002 ist eine open-label Studie, die mehr als 600
HIV-infectedpatienten einschreibt, die nicht vorher antiretroviral Therapie empfangen haben.
Patienten werden randomisiert, um jedes eine Kombination von drei Tabletten von VX-175 +
ritonavir einmal täglich oder nelfinavir Magnesiums zu empfangen 1250 zweimal täglich. Alle

Hallo zusammen,
kann mir mal jemand erklären, was das heute wieder soll. Es vergeht ja kein Tag mehr ohne 10-20% +/- bei Vertex, Millennium usw.
Was meint Ihr, geht es bei Vertex nochmal auf 55$ bzw. Millennium 40$ oder noch tiefer?

The UN has released the latest indications of how fast the AIDS virus is spreading world-wide. As expected, it is moving rapidly through poorer nations in Africa, Asia and eastern Europe

One small drug maker is developing a new once-a-day treatment that would be more accessible to the people in those countries



The UN and the WHO comes out with their survey every year; this year alone there were almost 4m new infections in Sub-Saharan Africa, bringing the total infections in that region to 25m - it`s a huge percentage of the world-wide number, which is about 36m

2.2m people died in the Sub-Sahara alone this year; the number is growing a little more slowly than before, but that may be because the number of people who can get infected is slowing down

Prevention seems to be having an impact in some countries in the Sub-Sahara, like Uganda Senegal; in general, the AIDS situation in Africa is "catastrophic"

The price of the effort to get the drugs into this region have been extraordinary; the drugs are difficult to use - patients must take anywhere from 6-15 pills every day

It`s almost impossible for people in that part of the world to comply

VRTX has come up with a version of a drug it has already licensed to GLX that it thinks could be used once a day - even if the treatment has to be administered 3-5 times daily, it would still be an advance

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Nasdaq: VRTX) announced today that VX-175, an HIV protease inhibitor discovered by Vertex and licensed by Glaxo Wellcome, has entered Phase III clinical trials. VX-175 (also known as GW433908) is a prodrug of the HIV protease inhibitor amprenavir. VX-175 has been formulated to allow a dosing regimen in clinical trials of three pills, twice a day. As part of Phase III clinical development, the potential for once daily dosing of VX-175 is also being investigated.

Two Pivotal Trials Now Underway

VX-175 is now being investigated in two Phase III clinical trials. Study 30001 is an open-label, randomized study that compares three tablets of VX-175 dosed twice daily with the protease inhibitor nelfinavir dosed twice daily in patients who have not previously received antiretroviral therapy. All patients will also receive the reverse transcriptase inhibitors abacavir and 3TC twice daily. This trial will enroll 210 patients at more than 30 centers in the United States, and will assess safety and antiviral efficacy of each regimen over a period of 48 weeks.

Study 30002 is an open-label study that will enroll more than 600 HIV- infected patients who have not previously received antiretroviral therapy. Patients will be randomized to receive either a combination of three tablets of VX-175 + ritonavir once daily, or 1250 mg nelfinavir twice daily. All patients will also receive abacavir and 3TC twice daily. The trial will be conducted at more than 50 research centers worldwide, and will assess safety and antiviral efficacy of each regimen over a period of 48 weeks. An additional Phase III study, in treatment-experienced patients, is planned for 2001.

Hi Leute!

Bin auch der Meinung das Vertex in den Boards sehr heiß diskutiert wird. Ich finde das Problem ist der Gesamtmarkt, wenn der sich wieder beruhigt und die Angst nachlässt dann wird es Vertex auch wieder besser gehen. z.Z. ist das ja total irre mal 20% hoch dann wieder 15% runter. Bin seit 3 Handelstagen dabei und hab Vertex im Tagesverlauf für 61 Euro eingesammelt. Bin mir seit gestern aber nicht mehr sicher ob sie noch weiter fallen (50 Euro) könnten??? Bin aber eher langfristig interessiert. Mein Kursziel für Vertex ist 100 Dollar, wenn es der Börse wieder besser geht.
