Meldon Ellis Appointed New CEO of Starnet

Dohlen to Remain as Major Shareholder and Advisor

ST. JOHNS, Antigua--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 1999-- Starnet Communications
International Inc. (OTC BB: SNMM) (``Starnet``), announced today that its board of directors has appointed Meldon Ellis,
former general counsel to the company, as chief executive officer of Starnet, effective immediately. Mark Dohlen has resigned
as Starnet`s chief executive officer, but will remain as a member of Starnet`s advisory board.

``Mark Dohlen has been one of the major contributors behind Starnet`s meteoric rise to prominence in online gaming and
entertainment, transforming the company from a small Internet venture to a leader in online gaming,`` said Ellis. ``As a result,
Starnet`s business has never been stronger - with revenues up 449% in the first quarter over the same period last year and
profits in the same period up 495% over last year. Our business is strong, our strategy is in place and our experienced, talented
management team is vigorously executing our strategic plan.``

About Meldon Ellis

Meldon Ellis, 37, joined Starnet earlier this year as a legal and business consultant to help Starnet manage its rapid growth and
direct the company`s strategic planning. Since that time, Mr. Ellis`s efforts have proved instrumental in helping to redefine
Starnet and transform the company from an on-line entertainment company into the leader in on-line gaming.

Prior to Starnet, Mr. Ellis served as a legal and management consultant at Douglas Symes & Brissenden structuring business
start-ups and providing strategic business and legal advice to businesses in the entertainment and new media industries. Mr. Ellis
holds a bachelor of arts from Simon Fraser University, a business management certificate from the British Columbia Institute of
Technology, a bachelor of laws degree from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in

Files Appeal of Order Freezing Canadian Accounts

Jones, Jensen & Company, LLC is a member of the McGladrey Network, an affiliation of more than 80 independent accounting firms serving businesses across the country, providing the firm with access to a broad base of experience.

Meldon Ellis, chief executive officer of Starnet said, ``As a leader in online gaming with international operations, we sought the assistance of an accounting firm with significant global experience. The order was originally granted by Justice Dohm on August 25, 1999.

Chris Zacharias, Starnet`s corporate counsel, said, ``We continue to believe that the facts in this case make it very difficult to interpret these funds as proceeds of crime. As a result, we are confident that careful consideration of the facts by the Court of Appeal will result in a decision favorable to Starnet and have asked the court to expedite this matter. Im ragingbull-board wird die Nachricht überwiegend positiv aufgenommen. Der "Neue" ist gar nicht so neu. Scheint bisher die Nummer 2 gewesen zu sein.

Dohlen sollte wohl etwas aus der Schußlinie genommen werden. Würde mich nicht wundern, wenn dies mit der noch ausstehenden Anklage, die in den nächsten 2 Monaten erwartet wird, zusammenhängt.

Auf "StarnetIsland" wird diese Nachricht auch als Neuanfang/Neupostionierung von SNMM gewertet.

MD war ein charismatischer, erfolgreicher Leader, allerdings wohl zu stark im Porn-Business involviert.Die Vergangenheit holt jeden irgendwann ein. Das war wohl auch der Ursprung seiner Karriere.

Meldon Ellis ist "sauber", ohne neg. Belastungen aus der Vergangenheit, außerdem soll er gute Kontakte zur BC-Regierung haben.
Es wird vermutet!, daß evtl. Anklage gegen MD erhoben werden könnte.

Dieser Neuanfang war evt. auch ein Entgegenkommen an die Forderungen der RMCP. Diese kann ihr Gesicht wahren, erhebt Anklage gegen den EHEMALIGEN CEO MD - und Starnet ist chemisch rein und ist die einzige, von den Behörden überprüfte und attestiert saubere I-Gaming-Company der ges. Branche.Durch
SNMM und MIT SNMM werden in jeder Hinsicht neue Standards gesetzt.

Das war der entscheidende Schritt, um dieses Nightmare zu beenden.

Mich würde nicht wundern, wenn MD die Porn-Division übernimmt.

Mit dem Rücktritt von Mark Dohlen hätte ich nicht gerechnet. Vorallem bin gespannt, wie das vom Markt aufgenommen wird.

In guten Zeiten wäre es bestimmt ein Schock gewesen, aber in der momentanen Situation könnte es durchaus auch positiv gewertet werden.
Besondern dann, wenn MD tatsächlich Dreck am Stecken hätte, wie oben schon vermutet.

Da dürfte eine Klage wohl keine katastrophalen Auswirkungen mehr haben. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, bis sich der ganze Mist endlich aufklärt. Vorher wird sich am Kurs nicht viel bewegen.

Nun muß man wohl abwarten ob dieser Schritt zum Wohle der Firma Starnet gemacht wurde, oder ob die Ratten nur das sinkende Schiff verlassen.

Starnet fährt momentan genau den richtigen Kurs:

- rechtliche Klarheiten vor Gericht schaffen (siehe Leve-Verfügung)

- "zweifelhafte" Personen entfernen (M.D. zieht sich in den Hintergrund zurück; der Security-Mann mit den Kinderpornos wurde fristlos gefeuert)

- erneut ein hochprofessionelles und seriöses Wirtschaftsprüferbüro anheuern.

- Geschäftseinheiten, die in rechtlichen Grauzonen operieren ins Ausland verlagern (Antigua)

Jetzt muß Starnet "nur noch" endlich seine Porno-Sparte verkaufen, die Aktionärsklagen niederschmettern und eine gerichtliche Klärung der RCMP-Razzia herbeiführen (deren Ergebnis ja anscheinend nur marginale Rechtsverletzungen hervorbringen wird).

Danach ist Starnet "NASDAQ-seriös"...

stimme meinem Vorredner Easy im Prinzip zu, dennoch wäre ich persönlich
ziemlich enttäuscht von MD, wenn seine Person selbst auch "Dreck" am
Stekken hätte. Schließlich wurde keiner so stark mit dem Erfolg Starnets identifiziert wie MD. Aus Unternehmenssicht ist dieser Schritt
aber möglicherweise sehr heilsam, deshalb vielleicht auch eher aus politischen Gründen erwogen, denn aus Gründen der Zweifelhaftigkeit MD`s. Dafür spricht ja auch die bisherige, gute Starnet-Politik, die ja wohl noch die Handschrift MD`s trug und trägt. Insofern hat er vermutlich tatsächlich nichts zu befürchten, was seine Person angeht.

Vor einigen Wochen habt ihr und die Amis überwiegend MD göttlich in den Himmel gelobt und jetzt seit ihr plötzlich froh, daß er weg ist.
Ich persönlich verstehe nicht, daß der SNMM-Kurs nicht um 50% abgesackt ist.

Im Übrigen zeigt die Reaktion am Markt, daß Deine Einschätzungen eben nicht immer richtig sind.

MD zurückzuziehen ist eine strategische Entscheidung und hat mit "Dreck am Stecken" nichts zu tun. Denn dann wäre er entlassen worden.

Warum sollte der Kurs auf diese Meldung hin 50% verlieren?
Ich sehe einen neuen Ceo positiv, wenn ich mir auch einen richtigen Management
wechsel gewünscht hätte.
Dieser Wechsel ist leider nur recht halbherzig gewählt, da ja nur die Nr1 gegen die Nr2 getauscht wurde anstatt einen echten neuen Ceo zu bestellen.
Wäre ein echter Profi gekommen, würden wir heute einen echten Sprung nach oben sehen.

Ich bin überrascht über den heutigen Kursverlauf, weil die Schuld für den Kursverlauf in den letzten Wochen eher bei einem Priester als bei dem heißgeliebten MD gesucht worden wäre. Schaut euch doch die Ami-Boards an, und hier war es ähnlich, wobei einige kritischen Stimmen sich in letzter Zeit eingeschlichen hatten.

Und jetzt das Ende des "Vaters" von SNMM!

Könnte sein, daß man jetzt versucht SNMM eine weisse Weste zu verpassen. Ob dies ausser einem lukrativen Day-Trade zu einer längeren Kurserholung führt, kann man bezweifeln.
Ich sehe das als Schwächereaktion von SNMM, denn jemand, der sich nichts zu Schulden hat kommen lassen, der muss auch nicht zurücktreten.

Ich glaube bezüglich des Vertrauens an die neuen Leute werden die momentanen und zukünftigen Anleger mit einem Vorwegmisstrauen reagieren. Man wird wohl sehr lange nicht mit voller Euphorie ohne ein mulmiges Gefühl in den Wert gehen können. Das wird, denke ich, den Kursverlauf Grenzen setzen.

asienfreund deine Aussagen hier beweisen daß du kein Geschäftspolitisches Denken hast. Und deswegen wirst Du weiterhin mit deinen Prognosen bezüglich SNMM auf dem Holzweg bleiben. Ich halte den Rückzug von Dohlen für einen weiteren ausgezeichneten Schachzug und bleibe weiterhin sehr optimistisch für meine
Aktien.

Wer sagt eigentlich, das man immer CEO bleiben muss?
Wer von den SAP-Gründern ist noch im Vorstand?
Der Aufsichtsrat ist auch noch da, um aus dem Hintergrund zu steuern.

Der Neue muss jetzt zeigen was er draufhat. Ein Grund zur Sorge dürften die nächsten Q-Zahlen sein. Die werden wohl nicht so berauschend ausfallen. Umsatz ja, aber der Gewinn nicht.

Zu den Wirtschaftsprüfern: Die sind immer seriös!! Das ist ein angesehener Berufsstand, der eine anspruchsvolle Ausbildung erfordert. Bei Antrag auf das Ablegen der Berufsexamina wird die Person auf Eignung überprüft. Sollte sich ein WP wirklich mal was leisten, dann landet er im Knast und das Berufsausübungsrecht wird für immer versagt.
Also: Seriös ist das Unternehmen, das sich prüfen läßt, besonders wenn es dazu nicht verpflichtet ist.

Lasst mich meine Einstellung zum Rücktritt von MD so ausdrücken:
Wäre ich überzeugter und tiefgläubiger SNMM-Aktionär mit 80-100% Kapitaleinsatz und würde ich MD über Monate für einen der besten Firmenleader halten, dann würde ich auf einen Rücktritt mit Sorge und Unsicherheit reagieren, da ich den Menschen vor einigen Tagen noch für den einzigen gehalten habe, der das optimalste aus der Firma herausholen kann.
Man kann das nicht etwa mit den Hypervereinsbank- Manager vergleichen, die für die Aktionäre Fremde sind.

Ich habe immer hier das Gefühl gehabt, insbesondere durch die Postings, daß SNMM mit MD steht oder fällt. Eine Art unzertrennliche Symbiose.

Deshalb hat mich die pos. Kursreaktion überrascht. So kann man sich täuschen!

Starnet ist doch keine Band ala rolling stones, wenn mick jagger aufhört ist die band kaputt.wenn bei snmm jemand aus der schußlinie genommen wird wie M.D. tut dies dem angestrebten Ziel der Firma nur gut.
Hoffentlich muß ich dir nicht bald alles mit Äpfeln und Birnen erklären ;-)
