Olaroz Project, Argentina
The 33,000 hectare project is situated in the Province of Jujuy, northwestern Argentina and contains two known deposits, the La Providencia silver deposit and the Chingolo silver deposit, which was acquired on the basis of its geological similarity to La Providencia. The Chingolo prospect is located approximately 15 kilometres away of La Providencia.
Partly the project is easily reached via a well-maintained gravel road. The remainder of the property is accessible by off-road vehicles.

La Providencia
Prior to Cardero’s studies and sampling, the deposit was being mined and approximately 200,000 tonnes were processed from rudimentary surface-pits, showing estimated mill head grade ranging from 350 to 600 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.
The Company then undertook within the surface-pits a systematic chip-sampling program within an area measuring 120 metres east-west by 550 metres north-south. The 54 chip samples returned weighted average silver values of 489.6 g/t (Argentinean laboratory) and 494.8 g/t (Canadian laboratory). This preliminary sampling program also identified the presence of copper (0.47%), lead (0.47%) and zinc (0.44%).

The Company believes that there is an enormous potential to delineate a world class, large tonnage, open-pit, silver deposit at La Providencia.

Chingolo
Nine surface chip samples of conglomerate and jasperoid cap rocks were collected. Silver values ranged from 20 up to 391 g/t. During a previous property examination in 1996 by another exploration company five samples of altered conglomerate were collected from a trench exposure and returned analyses that averaged 747 g/t silver. The Company, on that basis, infers that the Chingolo prospect has the potential to contain a silver deposit similar to La Providencia.

Work Program
At the Chingolo silver prospect an initial 1,100 metre diamond drill program commenced late April of 2003. The close spaced follow-up backhoe pitting, bedrock sampling and geological mapping program has been completed. This detailed work located first-priority drill targets, over a 600 metre strike length, defined by anomalous silver-copper-lead-arsenic-antimony values. The program will test the potentially silver-copper mineralized Tertiary conglomerate formation to approximately 200 meters depth.
Upon completion of the initial Chingolo drill program the drilling equipment will be mobilized to commence diamond drill evaluation of the Providencia silver deposit. Subject to favorable results from the initial drill program at the Chingolo silver prospect, a second diamond drill rig will be mobilized.
The Company anticipates releasing the results by the end of June of 2003.

Mexico IOCG Venture
Cardero has entered into an agreement with Anglo American Mexico, S.A. de C.V. to explore and develop the Alisitos Belt of Baja California Norte, Mexico. The target area was identified by Cardero, and it has the potential to host large iron oxide copper-gold (“IOCG”) type deposits.

Earlier site visits and due diligence by Anglo American geologists and consultant Dr. Richard Sillitoe are complete and exploration in the area is now underway.

As to the agreement, Anglo will manage and fund expenditures for the identification and acquisition of mineral concessions within the area of interest, which would earn them a 70% interest in the mineral concessions, but with no further exploration costs to the Company.

Cardero Resource Corp. has 20.5 million shares issued and outstanding with a price per share of CDN$1.85 (12. June 2003), which results in a Market Capitalization of CDN$30.7 million. The Company is financially strong with CDN$3.5 million cash on hand.

Large mining companies need to acquire large-tonnage world-class mineral deposits to replace rapidly depleting reserves. Small deposits and mines will not suffice. Überaus interessante, zeitliche Auflistung was um Cardero geschieht!

Ascot Resources recently dropped their La Sarda Mexican project after they received unexceptional results from their initial drill campaign. They continue to search for another important project but for now solely offer an excellent fashion in which to ride the coat-tails of Cardero Resources. Ascot maintains a seven million share holding of Cardero’s stock. Cardero is working on what may become a world class silver project. They are presently drilling their Cingola Prospect and anticipate shortly performing their initial diamond drilling on their prime target, La Providencia. To date, their share price has not benefited from the expected excitement that should attend their drilling results. However, if they meet with success which is highly likely, in an industry where few companies achieve such an end, their share price will soar. I continue to believe that Cardero shares offer little downside risk and enormous upward price appreciation.

The Olaroz Project is comprised of a number of mineral concessions encompassing 25,000 hectares in the Salar Olaroz region, 230 kilometres at 334 degrees bearing from the city of San Salvador de Jujuy in the province of Jujuy, northwestern Argentina. We don`t know what the effect on the stock price will be (other than it won`t be positive) and we haven`t had a chance to review the results in detail. The main purpose of this brief note is to point out that we would NOT consider a sharp drop in the CDU stock price in response to this latest news to be a buying opportunity

Sehe ich auch so und baue eher auf einen technischen Rebound, vielleicht bis 0,9 oder 1. Allerdings sind die Jungs nicht untätig. Fundamental ist die Luft erstmal raus!

Es werden morgen 2 neue Geologen bei dem Projekt eintreffen, um eine evaluation durchzuführen. Der Geologe der das Projekt unter Verantwortung hatte wurde entlassen, da die Daten für alle Bohrlöcher eine schlechte "recovery rate" hervorbrachten, weil wahrscheinlich viel Silber weggespült wurde. Man hätte das vermeiden können, bereits nach den ersten paar Löchern. Die 2 neuen Geologen werden ein Gutachten erstellen, um herauszufinden was nun wirklich mit dem Projekt anzufangen ist. Es bleibt nach wie vor eines von Cardero`s Hauptprojekt. Sie werden weiterhin explorieren. 10 Millionen Unzen silber sind schon bestätigt. Sollten neue Bohrungen ein anderes Ergebniss bringen, dann wird es sehr schnell in eine andere Richtung lauen. Nächste Woche soll das gutachten der "neuen Geologen" schon veröffentlicht werden. Dann weiss man mehr. Bleibt auf der WL

Ich bin bei Research Capital. Das ist auch nicht billig und kostet mich pro Order $100, aber dafür sucht er den besten Zeitpunkt und beobachtet die Aktie für mich mit. Hört er irgendwas, kriege ich einen Anruf und einen Rat. Der Broker hat sein Ohr eben weitaus näher dran.

Die CDU könnte sehr schnell wieder auf $1,50 laufen. Die letzten news haben das Ergebnis der bohrungen relativiert. Es kann von vorne beginnen

Drill holes 6A, 6B and 6C were drilled around the collar of drill hole 6. The contractor drilled these holes using different techniques in order to optimize the core recovery for future drilling. The mean silver grade in the three holes is 486.6 g/t, which is approximately 40% higher than that encountered in the same zone in the original hole 6 which had significant core loss.

Drill hole 22 was drilled on the same east-west section which includes holes 4, 5 and 6. The four holes on the section give an average grade of 155.5 g/t silver over an average conglomerate thickness of 28.7 meters and an east-west width of 65 meters.

Drill holes 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 are located on an east- west section to the east of the north pit. An altered conglomerate of up to 60 meters in thickness, which contains silver mineralization, was discovered over an east west dimension of 200 meters.

Drill hole 16 was drilled 250 meters west of the north pit and intersected unaltered to slightly altered conglomerates.

Drill holes 19 and 21 were drilled on a geochemical anomaly 500 meters to the south of the mine workings. Both holes intersected strongly altered conglomerates. Hole 19 has anomalous silver values and results for hole 21 are pending. The area is open in all direction for future exploration.

The results and interpretation to date suggest north-south mineralized fault structures running through Providencia up to 800 meters in length with possible extensions to the north and south. The results of the latest drilling indicate that there is a correlation between lower silver values and zones of significant core loss in the earlier drill holes.

The company is presently compiling all the results of regional and detailed mapping, as well as the extensive program of surface channel sampling and will integrate this data with the drill results. The interpretation of this data will provide a model for the resumption of drilling in early September.

Chingolo

An interpretation of results at Chingolo suggest that it may be a flat lying conglomerate body originating from an east-west fault located to the south. The following from "Financial Insights" published today, for anyone interested:

"LATE NOTE : While I was completing this Letter Cardero Resources announced the results from the remaining drill holes of their initial La Providencia program. These were accompanied by four additional holes that were recently performed to essentially check a few earlier ones that were very disappointing. If you will recall, trenching results at La Providencia reported exceptional silver assays in the pit areas from which high grade silver had been earlier mined. Further, there was a question regarding the loss of core in the neighborhood of 25% from the majority of diamond drill holes in their first round. It was postulated that the poor recovery might have caused the reduced assay results. This moved some experts to seriously question whether they should have been announced. Additionally, the director who was responsible for the project was rele! ased by the company. The bottom line is that there was a possibility that the earlier disastrous results were due to a series of human errors.

The four newly released holes that were drilled to confirm or disprove the earlier results, returned far higher assays, and appear to confirm the probability of human error. Three holes were drilled around hole 6 and showed a 40% greater silver recovery. They averaged 486 gr./tn. over 13.5 m. compared with hole 6 at 339 gr./tn. silver over 11.95 m. Additionally, the three holes were intentionally stopped at15 m. as they were intended to check the hypothesis of core loss causing the poor results. Hole 22 was drilled in the same section as the earlier holes 4, 5 and 6 which averaged 155.5 gr./tn. silver over 28 m. Hole 22 returned 187.1 gr./tn. silver over a wider intercept of 40 m. The balance of the reported holes were the final ones from the first drill round and their core recovery was poor.

It is my belief that the newly announced information has the potential to resurrect Cardero’s La Providencia and Chingolo projects. The company now plans on completely reevaluating all data and will design a new program for implementation in September. In any event, it will take some time before Cardero and the marketplace will be able to sort out the potential of these projects, but the new information is encouraging."

Der erste Mutige hat auch schon in Frankfurt zugeschlagen. Drüben füllt sich das Bid recht zeitig und ist jetzt schon bei 86ct

Ich erinnere gerne nochmal an die Ausgangssituation. CDU stand bei ca 1,60 und man sah Kurse um die $10 für den Fall, das die Bohrergebnisse erfolgreich sind. Die schlechten Ergebnisse wurden revidiert und es kann von Neuem beginnen. Mal shen was passiert, wenn die nächsten Bohrergebnisse positiv ausfallen.

Cardero stieg heute wieder 5,47% und ab September sollen mehrere news releases kommen. So schrieb es mir jedenfalls Henk van Alphen. Ich solle mich gedulden und ich werde dann Antworten in offiziellen News Releases der Firma erhalten.

Das drilling auf der Chingolo Property wird im September wieder beginnen. Auf Providenica soll ab Oktober gebohrt werden. Ein heisser Herbst steht bevor und die CDU wird bis dahin wieder alte Höhen erreichen. so sehe ich das jedenfalls. Die Konsolidierung nach 60% in einer Woche dürfte vorbei sein.

Es wird Zeit sich für die drillings einzudecken
