Schaut Euch mal den chart von SEMICONDUCTOR LASER INTL (NASDAQ: SLIC)
      an !!!

BINGHAMTON, N.Y., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Semiconductor Laser International Corporation (SLI) (OTC Bulletin Board: SLIC - news, SLICW - news) and bmp Mobility AG Venture Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of bmp AG, a German stock corporation, jointly announced today the receipt of $1,150,000, as the final installment of payments under the Securities Purchase Agreement, dated as of February 5, 1999, between SLI and bmp, as amended, which provided for an equity investment in SLI by bmp of between $2,050,000 and $2,750,000.

As previously announced on February 10, 1999, under the terms of the Securities Purchase Agreement, as the first stage of the investment, on February 8, 1999, bmp purchased 2,000,000 newly issued shares of SLI common stock at a price of $0.375 per share, for an aggregate purchase price of $750,000. Such purchase represented the acquisition of approximately 16% of the outstanding shares of common stock of SLI by bmp. In the second stage of the investment, bmp agreed to purchase, subject to certain conditions, a minimum of 650,000 and a maximum of 1,000,000 newly issued shares of non-voting Series B convertible preferred stock of SLI, par value $0.01 per share and a liquidation preference of $1.00 per share at a purchase price of $2.00 per share, or $0.40 per share of SLI common stock, for a minimum aggregate purchase price of $1,300,000 and a maximum aggregate purchase price of $2,000,000. Each such share of preferred stock is initially convertible into five shares of SLI common stock, subject to certain adjustments. bmp does not have the right to convert its acquired shares of SLI preferred stock; such conversion may only be effected by unaffiliated transferees from bmp.

On April 29, 1999 SLI and bmp entered into Amendment No.1 to the Securities Purchase Agreement, pursuant to which bmp agreed to purchase, subject to certain conditions, the full 1,000,000 newly issued shares of non-voting Series B convertible preferred stock of SLI at a purchase price of $2.00 per share, for an aggregate purchase price of $2,000,000. The purchase of the Series B convertible preferred stock took place in three monthly installments, the first of which, $465,000 for 232,500 preferred shares, was received on May 5, 1999, the second of which, $385,000 for 192,500 preferred shares, was received on May 28, 1999, and the third of which, $1,150,000 for 575,000 preferred shares, was received on June 26, 1999,

Semiconductor Laser International Corporation Announces the Delisting of Its Common Stock from the Nasdaq Smallcap Market and Quotation on the OTC Bulletin Board
BINGHAMTON, N.J., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Semiconductor Laser International Corporation (SLI) (OTC Bulletin Board: SLIC - news, SLICW - news) has received notice from The Nasdaq Stock Market that its securities have been delisted from The Nasdaq SmallCap Market, effective as of the close of business on May 26, 1999. The Nasdaq Stock Market based its determination on SLI`s failure to meet the minimum bid price requirement for its common stock and the minimum net tangible assets requirement set forth under the Nasdaq Marketplace Rules. Starting today, SLI`s securities are quoted on the OTC Bulletin Board (Symbol SLIC and SLICW).

Geoffrey Burnham, the Company`s President and Chief Executive Officer stated, ``As previously disclosed, the Company had submitted a two step plan to Nasdaq for reattaining compliance with the Nasdaq requirements. Our plan consisted of a $2.75 million equity investment by bmp Mobility AG Venture Capital and a seven for one stock split. We have already received $1,215,000 of the equity investment from bmp and are scheduled to receive the remaining portion of the investment by the end of June 1999. The seven for one stock split will be voted upon by our shareholders at the June 11, 1999 annual meeting of shareholders. We are currently reviewing our options concerning appeal of the Nasdaq determination. Although we are disappointed concerning the delisting, we are optimistic about our business and are currently in discussions regarding an additional private placement. Regardless of the outcome of any appeal we may choose to make to Nasdaq, we intend to reapply for quotation on The Nasdaq SmallCap Market at such time as we can satisfy Nasdaq`s initial listing requirements. For now, our stock will be quoted on the OTC Bulletin Board.``
