Leider kann ich zu FS auch nicht viel sagen.
Eine schlechte Performance haben sie allerdings nicht.

Hi,

habe letztens einen Artikel in der C'T gelesen (aktuelle Ausgabe).

Freescale baut demnach demnächst Hochfrequenz Funk Netzwerkkarten.
Mit relativ hohen Bitraten.

Jedoch scheinen die aus meiner Sicht noch nicht 100% ausgereift.
Waren aber Vorserien Produkte die getestet wurden.

Bleibt abzuwarten ob sich das als Konkurenz zum WLAN oder Bluetooth entwickelt.

Falls das jedoch was werden sollte, dann sieht die Sache für den Aktienkurs natürlich recht gut aus ;-)

Ich werde sie nicht verkaufen, hatte zunächst einige Aktie hinzugekauft damit ich auf eine handelbare Größe kam. Nun werde ich nochmals nachlegen, da ich denke, dass noch einiges an Potential in dem Wert steckt!

Magnetspeicherchip löst RAM-Chips ab
Der Halbleiterhersteller Freescale hat den ersten kommerziell verfügbaren Magnetspeicherchip vorgestellt, der herkömmliche RAM-Chips ablösen soll. Das Hochfahren von Computern würde sich mit der Technologie signifikant verkürzen.
Der Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory [MRAM] setzt bei der Speicherung der Daten auf Magnetismus statt auf elektronische Aufladung und behält daher die Daten auch ohne Stromversorgung.

Freescale ist davon überzeugt, dass die Chips schon bald in elektronischen Geräten wie MP3-Playern, Handys, Digitalkameras und Computern zu finden sein werden.

Kürzere Bootzeiten
Computer könnten dann wesentlich schneller hochgefahren werden, da die Daten nicht erst in den Speicher geladen werden müssen.
"Meilenstein in der Chipindustrie"
Marktbeobachter sehen in der Entwicklung von Freescale einen Meilenstein in der Chipindustrie.

"Das ist die wichtigste Speicherneuerung in diesem Jahrzehnt", meinte Will Strauss, Analyst bei Forward Concepts. Einige Halbleiterfirmen hätten an dieser Technologie geforscht.

Freescale ist es nun jedoch erstmals gelungen, die Chips zu kommerzialisieren und in großer Stückzahl zu produzieren.

Die ersten Vier-Mbit-Chips laufen bereits in Freescales Halbleiterfabrik in Arizona vom Band, um Lagerbestände aufzubauen. Wann der Speicher erstmals in Alltagsgeräten verbaut wird, ist nicht bekannt.

The consortium is led by The Blackstone Group, and includes The Carlyle Group, Permira Funds and Texas Pacific Group.

Under the terms of the merger agreement, the consortium will acquire all of the outstanding Class A and Class B shares of Freescale for $40 per share in cash, representing a premium of approximately 36% over Freescale's average closing share price during the 30 trading days ended September 8, 2006. The company first acknowledged it was in discussions with third parties regarding a possible transaction on September 11, 2006.

The board of directors of Freescale has unanimously approved the merger agreement and resolved to recommend that Freescale's stockholders adopt the agreement.

There is no financing condition to the obligations of the private equity consortium to consummate the transaction, and equity and debt commitments for the full amount of the merger consideration have been received. It is currently anticipated that substantially all of the company's outstanding Notes will either be tendered for or repaid.

The merger is subject to customary conditions to closing, including the affirmative vote of Freescale stockholders and requisite antitrust approvals. The merger agreement contains a provision under which Freescale may solicit alternative proposals from third parties during the next 50 calendar days. In addition, Freescale may, at any time, subject to the terms of the merger agreement, respond to unsolicited proposals. If the company accepts a superior proposal, a break-up fee would be payable by the company. There can be no assurance of any alternative proposal.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. serves as financial advisor to Freescale and provided a fairness opinion in connection with the transaction. Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Professional Corporation serves as legal adviser to Freescale in connection with the transaction.
