First Virtual Communications Releases Click to Meet 4.0 with Improved Integration for Voice, Video and Data Communications

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--06/07/2004-- The simultaneous release of Click to Meet(TM) 4.0, Conference Server 7.3 and a new SDK provides an integrated and scalable platform for deploying a real-time, rich media communications infrastructure

First Virtual Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: FVCXE), a premier provider of infrastructure software solutions for real-time, rich media communications, today announced the new version of its award-winning Click to Meet(TM) rich media communications solution. Click to Meet now offers an increased level of customization and integration capabilities, while delivering an infrastructure software solution that may improve the return on investment and lower the total cost of ownership over the long term.

Click to Meet 4.0 improves on the performance of previous versions, while delivering additional enhancements including improvements in security, scalability by now supporting 500 concurrent users and integration with desktop applications, such as Microsoft Outlook and Active Directory. Conference Server, the engine that powers Click to Meet, has also been upgraded to help enterprises, government agencies and educational institutions gain greater control over their voice, video and data network costs, bandwidth and deployments. Click to Meet 4.0 also includes a Software Development Kit (SDK), which provides additional flexibility and integration capabilities to developers who want to add new functionality to existing products or create entirely new products to serve vertical markets.

"Integration is the major thrust behind Click to Meet 4.0," commented Jonathan Morgan, president and CEO of First Virtual Communications. "We`ve integrated with the environments our customers already have deployed through our support for standards-based systems. We`ve integrated more of the common desktop applications for improved workflow efficiencies, but most importantly, we`ve provided an SDK so that others can integrate the more than 10 years of experience we bring to this technology into the products of tomorrow."

Click to Meet provides a rich media communications platform that allows multiple users to communicate in an online meeting with voice, video, data and text chat all integrated into a single application and single-window environment. As a software solution, Click to Meet offers more affordable, more flexible deployment options, easier upgrades and lower cost processing power than hardware-based solutions.

NJEDge.Net, a non-profit corporation of the New Jersey Presidents` Council, is a broadband statewide network designed to enhance the teaching, research and public service missions of New Jersey`s colleges and universities. It is planning a network-wide rollout of Click to Meet 4.0 this summer.

"A major charge of NJEDge.Net`s mission is to promote new forms of inter-institutional collaboration," said Charlie McMickle, director of technical services for NJEDge.Net. "We have chosen Click to Meet 4.0 to be a key means of meeting this charge. After evaluating the pre-release version, our staff is very excited about Click to Meet`s power and simplicity. We particularly like its ability to transparently overcome the network obstacles that plague other applications we use, particularly video."

Click to Meet 4.0 provides a number of enhanced features for real-time communications:

-- Integration - provides improved integration in a Microsoft environment, including the option of using Outlook for scheduling, Windows Messenger and Live Communications Server for presence and call setup, as well as Active Directory. Integrated iCal calendaring support for meeting notifications extends invitation functionality to other calendar systems, such as Lotus Notes

-- Improved Security - display secure web sites to other conference participants without divulging passwords using web snapshot functionality and control

-- Enhanced Functionality - includes a new personal document repository, conference scheduler, audio transcoding, voice-activated switching and contact list

-- Complete SDK - offers three levels of customization and integration of Click to Meet for 1) customizing the conference room or in-conference experience, 2) adding functionality into Click to Meet from other applications, and 3) bypassing Click to Meet`s conference entry pages for direct control of Click to Meet from another application

-- Open & Standards-Based - supports industry-recognized standards, such as H.323, T.120 and H.320, extending not only investments in existing videoconferencing and VoIP infrastructure, but also implementing the groundwork for new and updated connection protocols as they evolve, such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and others

-- Scalability - allows 500 concurrent users in conferences, 10,000 users in directory database and 1,000 users logged in checking calendars and availability in the Click to Meet system

Further, Click to Meet`s scalability is enhanced by its Intelligent Linking(TM) technology where a decentralized conferencing model with distributed server linking takes into consideration the major factors that affect bandwidth use and network performance in the IP environment. Through Intelligent Linking, multiple, distributed media servers (Click to Meet Conference Servers) balance the conferencing load on a network, routing audio, video and data streams from distributed endpoints through appropriate local paths.

David Alexander, industry manager for Frost & Sullivan`s Multimedia/Conferencing and Collaboration Group commented, "Industry research has found that enterprises are continually looking for new ways to implement presentation/application/desktop-sharing applications into their communications framework in an attempt to streamline business processes. Click to Meet 4.0 turns commonly used applications into an integrated communications solution that allows organizations to work together more quickly and efficiently."

      Pricing and Availability

Click to Meet 4.0 is expected to ship worldwide this month with pricing starting in the US at $1,850 per concurrent user. All inquiries, including additional pricing, can be obtained from First Virtual Communications and its authorized reseller channel by sending email to salesinfo@fvc.com.

Click to Meet 4.0 will be demonstrated at InfoComm 04 in Atlanta, Ga., June 9-11, 2004 in First Virtual Communications` booth, #5039.

Meldung vom 30.April 2004. Es gab einige Ungereimtheiten im China Business. Köpfe rollen und ein separates Auditing wird eingesetzt.

First Virtual Communications Announces Audit Committee Investigation

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 2004--First Virtual Communications, Inc.(NASDAQ-SMALL:FVCX) (NASDAQ:FVCX) today announced that its Audit Committee is in the process of reviewing certain irregular sales transactions. Most of the transactions currently under review involve its sales operations in China. The Company has made personnel changes in China as a result of these transactions.

This investigation was initiated as a result of the Company becoming aware of several of these transactions, and subsequently notifying its Audit Committee and its independent auditors. The Audit Committee has engaged independent counsel to conduct the investigation which is in its early stages.

The Company`s auditors will not be able to complete their review of the financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2004 until the investigation is completed and the Company will not be able to release its first quarter financial results on May 4, as previously scheduled. The effect of the irregular sales transactions on the unaudited interim results for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 and on previously issued annual and quarterly financial statements, if any, has not been determined, and it is not known whether the Company will be required to restate prior period financial statements. Since the investigation will not be completed by the May 17, 2004 deadline for the filing of the Company`s Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q, the Company will not be able to file this Form 10-Q on a timely basis.

      @Ebro

ich verfolge die Firma bzw die Vorgängerfirmen seit 1999. Es gab ja eine Reihe von Fusionen un Namensumbenennungen. Hatte damals die WPNE = WHITE PINE, die dann in CUSM = SEE U SEE ME umgetauft wurde.

Hier muss man einfach mal sehen, was passiert.

First Virtual Communications Expands Its Commitment to Educators; Click to Meet 4.0 Enriches Learning With Real-Time, Rich Media Communications

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--06/21/2004--First Virtual Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: FVCXE), a premier provider of infrastructure software solutions for real-time, rich media communications, today announced it is expanding its commitment to its education customers and the educational technology consortia that serve them. Drawing on 10 years of experience in the market, the Company is delivering greater customization options for its Click to Meet(TM) integrated communications platform, implementing new programs for educators and actively participating in industry-leading educational technology associations that foster partnership among academia, industry and government. The Company believes that through this new initiative, educators will be better able to integrate real-time online interaction into their learning blends to create classrooms without boundaries.

With the growing adoption of blended learning, where instructional material is delivered using a combination of technologies and media to create a better or more widely available learning experience, programs are being enriched with a combination of online and traditional classroom components. Click to Meet combines high-quality multipoint voice and video with web collaboration tools within a single web browser interface to allow educators to enhance their offline learning modules with real-time communications. This provides a range of delivery vehicles appropriate to the lesson, instructor and students and interoperable with the existing network infrastructure. Using Click to Meet, educational institutions at the primary, secondary and university levels are offering direct instruction, participating in electronic field trips, interacting with remote guest lecturers and conducting instructor, faculty and researcher meetings.

At St. Petersburg College in Florida, professors are using Click to Meet to conduct public speaking and project management classes over the Web. These courses are part of the school`s online-only associate`s and bachelor`s degree programs. Dr. James Olliver, Seminole/eCampus Provost at the College, said, "Click to Meet is essential in helping us meet and exceed our tough standards for quality online educational programs. It provides us with multi-person, real-time, interactive conferencing capabilities that mimic the actual classroom experience. With Click to Meet, we can remain a leader at integrating technology into education while our students gain the flexible learning solutions they want and need."

First Virtual Communications recently introduced Click to Meet 4.0 with improved functionality, scalability and integration capabilities. Once it is installed on a campus network, Click to Meet offers educators:

-- Ease of use - easy for instructors and students to create, join and participate in online classrooms

-- Security and privacy - premised-based software and encryption give control to administrators

-- Flexibility - any institution can customize Click to Meet to add specific functionality to its learning blend

-- Scalability - grow deployments to up to 500 concurrent users in conferences worldwide, statewide or regionally, or simply extend the reach of currently deployed videoconferencing systems

-- Cost control - A software-based server and freely distributed desktop client provide low total cost of ownership metrics, and a concurrent user license model means no individual usage fees

-- Interoperability - Click to Meet supports industry-wide standards, allowing it to work with and enhance existing investments in telephones, videoconferencing and directory systems

-- Integration - Click to Meet`s Software Development Kit enables integration with educational technology applications, as well as the ability to create new applications on an open communications platform

"Educators have long been an integral part of First Virtual`s installed base and have been leaders in the adoption of rich media technologies. This new initiative will help us serve these customers better, so they may continue to drive the delivery of innovative blended learning models," said Gary Dietz, education marketing manager, First Virtual Communications. "By participating in leading industry groups and offering more education-focused options for Click to Meet, we believe we are helping educational institutions reach more students, increase access to remote faculty, meet government requirements to provide equal education opportunities and encourage communication and collaboration across geographic regions."

First Virtual will be demonstrating Click to Meet 4.0 in New Orleans, La., June 21-23 at the National Educational Computing Conference (NECC) 2004 in Booth #2256.
