Keine Ahnung, ob der Stocksplit auch die GDR betrifft, aber ich hätte nichts dagegen, 50 mal so viele Aktien zu bekommen.

Hallo Charlie,
Die Originalakte WKN 888322 wird an deutschen Börsen nicht gehandelt. Dafür hat Korea zwei GDRs ausgegeben, die 881823 und die 896360. Eine von den beiden wirst Du ja im Depot haben. Beim Aktiensplit der Originalaktie partizipieren natürlich auch die GDR im selben Verhältnis. Das gleiche gilt auch für ADR, die von den USA ausgegeben werden.

Samsung reportedly to sign MoU with China NDRC

Samsung Electronics reportedly will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), which has expressed concerns over Samsung's significant role in memory-chip price increases.

A report by Business Korea quoted Kim Dong-yeon, South Korea's finance minister and deputy prime minister, as saying he plans to discuss an MoU between Samsung and the NDRC during his visit to China. Kim did not elaborate on the planned MoU details.

The planned agreement between Samsung and China's NDRC will be about "comprehensive cooperation," the Business Korea report cited an unspecified government official as indicating.

Market research firm DRAMeXchange believes the MoU between Samsung and NDRC will cover cooperation in the chip sector, such as more investments from Samsung in China and technical collaboration. Samsung is also likely to agree to moderate DRAM price hikes to mitigate rising component costs encountered by China's smartphone vendors.

DRAM prices have been rising over the past six quarters, putting pressure on China-based smartphone vendors' operating costs, DRAMeXchange indicated. The issue started to draw the attention of NDRC at the end of 2017, and the China government is looking to intervene to stabilize the memory prices. Such intervention is expected to moderate mobile DRAM price increases in the first quarter of 2018, DRAMeXchange said.

Continued growth in DRAM memory prices has also put pressure on China's memory startups. Stabilization in the chip prices will help encourage China-based suppliers to expand their production capacities and improve the firms' profitability, according to DRAMeXchange.

Wann sollte denn dieser erfolgen?
Übrigens kann ich mir unter "partiziperen" in Bezug auf die GDRs (abgebildere Anzahl Aktien //bzw Kurs) nicht wirklich etwas Eindeutiges vorstellen.
Vielleicht kann ich noch aufgeklärt werden.

Hallo Tratsch,
ADR (American Depository Receipt) werden stellvertretend für hier nicht gehandelte amerikanische Aktien verwendet.
GDR (Global Despositary Receipt) sind ebenfalls Hinterlegungsscheine für ausländische Aktien, wie in unserem Fall Samsung GDR.
Wenn nun die nur an der Heimatbörse gehandelte Aktie splittet, erfolgt dies in gleichem Maße für die GDR bzw. die ADR.
Wenn Du also z.B. fünf GDR von Samsung im Depot hast (z.B. WKN 881823), sind das nach dem Split 250. Selbstverständlich teilt sich der Kurs auch um 50. Nehmen wir heute einen Kurs von 800 Euro für eine GDR an, hast Du nach dem Spit 50 GDR zu einem Wert von je 16 Euro.
Wann der Split kommt, weiß ich nicht, ich habe auch noch nichts dazu gefunden.

Samsung expects exponential growth for QLED TV shipments in 2018

Samsung Electronics is expected to see shipments of its high-end QLED TVs expand robustly in 2018, buoyed by enriched product portfolios and functionalities, according to Simon Sim, head of TV & AV, Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia & Oceania.

Through Samsung's SmartThings IoT networks, the QLED TVs can be connected seamlessly with a user's smartphones, allowing the user to control all related devices through a single interface that comes with remote-control and voice assistant functionalities, Sim said.

The new QLED TVs in 2018 will also come with a new functionality to achieve more accurate color and reach a 100% color space, while supporting HDR technology, Sim added.

The new QLED will also offer better gaming experiences as the new models also come with fast FRC (frame rate conversion) and VRR (variable refresh rate), as well as a Steam Link fast key for playing Steam's titles.

Demand for large-size TVs, particularly those over 55-inch, has continued to expand robustly, Sim said. Taking Taiwan for example, sales of TVs ranging from 55- to 65-inch sizes grew 19% on year to 156,000 units in 2017, while shipments of 75-inch models expanded 32% to 3,500 units.

Meanwhile, market watchers in Taiwan expects Samsung's shipments of QLED TVs to reach 3.5-4 million units in 2018.

In addition to maintaining its leading position in the QLED TV segment, Samsung has been serving as the top vendor of all kinds of TVs in the past 12 year and is currently holding an over 60% share in most markets in Europe and South America, said the sources.

Samsung will remain the number one vendor of slim type TVs in 2018 with its shipments totaling over 40 million units, the sources estimated.

Im Geschäft mit Halbleitern profitiert Samsung von der weiterhin starken Nachfrage nach Datenzentren und Smartphones. Mit Halbleitern verdient das Flaggschiff-Unternehmen der Samsung-Gruppe mit Abstand das meiste Geld.
Zudem dürfte nach Einschätzung von Analysten in den Monaten Januar bis März der Gewinn in der Sparte IT und mobile Kommunikation (Smartphones) höher als erwartet ausgefallen sein. Samsung hatte noch vor Ende des Quartals sein neues Smartphone-Spitzenmodell Galaxy S9 herausgebracht.

Samsung posts record chip profit in 2Q18

Samsung Electronics' semiconductor division enjoyed record-high earnings in the second quarter of 2018, driven by robust demand for DRAM memory used in data center applications and NAND flash chips for high-capacity storage. However, the chip unit's strong profits were offset by falling earnings from the company's smartphones and display operations during the quarter.

Samsung's semiconductor business posted record operating profits of KRW11.61 trillion (US$10.4 billion) on consolidated revenues of KRW21.99 trillion for the second quarter of 2018. The unit accounted for as high as 78% of Samsung's overall operating profits during the quarter.

However, operating profits from Samsung's IT & mobile communications (IM) and display panel (DP) units both fell sequentially and on year in the second quarter of 2018. Samsung's overall operating profits slid nearly 5% sequentially to KRW14.87 trillion in the second quarter.

"The memory business achieved strong results despite weak seasonality, as overall demand growth was solid driven by servers for data centers," Samsung said in a statement. "For the foundry business, total earnings continued to grow QoQ due to strong demand for high performance computing (HPC) chipsets, mobile APs and image sensors."

Samsung reported consolidated revenues of KRW58.48 trillion for the second quarter of 2018, down 3.4% sequentially and about 4% on year. "Second quarter revenue fell due to softer sales of smartphones and display panels, despite robust demand for memory chips," the company said in a statement.

Samsung's IM division, which used to account for the majority of the vendor's overall operating profits, posted operating profits of KRW2.67 trillion on revenues of KRW24.0 trillion in the second quarter of 2018. Profits and revenues for the quarter represented sequential decreases of 29.2% and 15.6%, respectively.

"Samsung's smartphone shipments and revenue declined QoQ due to the slow sales of Galaxy S9 and S9+ as well as the phasing out of older low-end models," the company noted. Higher marketing expenses also led to the profit decrease. "Samsung will seek to expand sales by introducing a new Galaxy Note earlier than usual," it continued. "Also, Samsung plans to strengthen price competitiveness and adopt advanced technology in the mass models."

Samsung's DP business posted operating profits of KRW0.14 trillion on revenues of KRW5.67 trillion for the second quarter. Profits and revenues fell 65.9% and 24.8%, respectively, on quarter.

"For OLED, earnings decreased QoQ despite improved factory utilization for rigid products, as demand from major customers for flexible panels remained slow," Samsung noted. "Earnings from LCD also declined from the previous quarter as the shipment and average panel price continued the downward trend."

Looking forward, Samsung expects its profits to edge higher in the second half of 2018, thanks to "sustained strength in the memory market and growing demand for flexible OLED panels."
