Netegrity Enables Brick-and-Mortar Companies to Develop Secure E-Businesses
Partners with Security Integration to Integrate Mainframe Data Into E-Business Initiatives
Waltham, MA , March 27, 2000 - Netegrity, Inc. (NASDAQ: NETE), a leading provider of e-commerce infrastructure solutions for secure portal management, today announced that it is offering an easier path to enable brick-and-mortar organizations to move their businesses online. With today`s announcement, Netegrity extends its leadership and expands its reach by licensing and embedding technology from Security Integration, Inc. into its SiteMinder® software. This will enable more businesses to quickly, cost effectively, and securely incorporate mainframe-based security databases, such as IBM RACF, Computer Associates CA-ACF2, and CA-Top Secret, into new e-business portal infrastructures.
"For 10 years, Security Integration has provided large companies with innovative ways to leverage the tremendous value of the information stored in their mainframe security repositories. Now, we`re using our technology to extend Netegrity`s SiteMinder product into these repositories", said George Boitano, president of Security Integration. "We`re very excited that Netegrity has chosen us to provide this valuable enhancement for their customers."
This integration spares companies from having to replicate user information across both mainframe and PC-based environments. With SiteMinder, users and their entitlements can now be stored in one place, with access management policies controlled and enforced in a centralized fashion. Mainframe users can now get the benefit of SiteMinder`s extensive authentication and policy-based authorization capabilities. For example, a company`s mainframe data can co-exist with an LDAP directory allowing a company to add new users to an LDAP directory while utilizing the user information that already exists on the mainframe.
"We are excited to be partnering with Security Integration to help solve a major problem that exists in corporations today as they evaluate their security challenges- how to leverage and secure legacy systems to implement secure e-commerce portals," said Bill Bartow, vice president of marketing at Netegrity, Inc. "Companies will now be able to truly implement a centralized and secure entitlement management infrastructure across the enterprise."
Availability
This functionality is expected to be available within SiteMinder in Q3 2000.
