United Reef Updates Santa Maria Project

      2:03 PM ET, January 14, 2010

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan 14, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- United Reef Limited (URP) ("United Reef" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the option agreement with Robert J. Fairservice (the "Optionor") to acquire five mining claims in the Dryden area of northwestern Ontario (see press release dated November 5, 2009) was completed during December following the initial cash payment and issuance of shares to the Optionor. The Company has received an independent technical report on the project titled "Santa Maria Property, Kenora Mining Division, Ontario, Canada" (the "Report") prepared by Sears, Barry & Associates ("SBA") on the optioned claims and the fourteen contiguous claims staked by United Reef during October, 2009. The Report was authored by Seymour M. Sears, B.A., B.Sc., P. Geo.

The following information has been summarized from the Report. A complete copy of the Report is being filed on SEDAR and will be posted on the Company's website www.unitedreef.com.

SBA was retained by United Reef to carry out an independent technical review of the Santa Maria Project and to complete a report in compliance with standards and policies of National Instrument 43-101 (NI 43-101). As part of the technical review, SBA examined all available data relating to historic work completed on the claims as well as a vast amount of information on the surrounding area. A site visit was made to the property and six samples were collected from the primary known prospect and surrounding rocks to independently confirm the presence of gold mineralization and examine the geological environment. These samples consisted of four chip samples across 0.6 m and two composite samples which returned values ranging from 12 ppb to 3,410 ppb Au (0.012 g/t to 3.41 g/t Au).

The Santa Maria Project consists of 19 contiguous unpatented mining claims (the "Claims") comprising 87 claim units encompassing an area of approximately 1,392 hectares located approximately 40 kms southeast of Dryden, Ontario. The claims are centered in the eastern part of the Eagle-Wabigoon-Manitou Lakes Greenstone Belt and they include at least 6 known gold occurrences. These gold occurrences are hosted within east-west trending shear zones that are developed along the margin of a major northwest trending structure, the Kawashegamuk Lake Shear Zone. This shear zone passes along the southwestern part of the United Reef claims.

The six known gold occurrences within the Santa Maria Project have documented gold values ranging from trace to 0.82oz/ton (28.0 g/t) and visible gold has been observed in at least 3 of the zones. One of these occurrences, the Santa Maria Shaft Zone, was explored by two shallow shafts in the early 1900s. The Claims cover a series of strongly developed, deeply seated east-west structures that lie along the north flank of a major northwest trending fault zone. These structural features are indicated on OGS geological maps of the area, satellite imagery and from field observations. The Claims also host intense carbonate alteration and quartz-zones.

These geological features and the presence of known gold mineralization suggest that the Santa Maria Project has excellent potential to host an economic gold deposit and warrants an aggressive exploration program.
      :eek::)

A field examination was completed by SBA on one of the gold occurrences on the Santa Maria Project, the Santa Maria Shaft Zone. The observed gold mineralization, along with pyrite, galena and chalcopyrite, occurs within quartz-carbonate veining that is developed at the contact between a sheared quartz-feldspar porphyry unit and a rock unit that is intensely carbonated and essentially unrecognizable. The quartz carbonate veining ranges from 0.6 to 1.8 m in width where exposed. A chip sample across 0.6 m adjacent to one of the two old shafts on the property assayed 3.4 g/t Au. Historically, visible gold and samples assaying up to 25.7 g/t Au have been reported from this vein zone.

The mineralized zones, although narrow where exposed, are accompanied by intense carbonate and silica alteration. Areas of carbonate alteration, as well as numerous sub-volcanic intrusive bodies (quartz-porphyry), are very extensive within the claim group as shown on the available geological maps and satellite imagery. The intensity of alteration suggests that the rocks in this area have been exposed to a very prolonged system of circulating hydrothermal fluids.

There has been very little exploration in this area, particularly using modern ideas and technology. This geological environment, the presence of known gold mineralization and the lack of modern exploration are favorable for the discovery of an economic gold deposit in this area.

SBA has recommended a two phased exploration program for the Project; these two phases are estimated to cost approximately $784,000 (Phase I - $288,000; Phase II - $496,000). An initial diamond drilling program of 800 m is planned in the Phase I program and an additional 2,000 m in Phase II. A further delineation type program consisting mainly of diamond drilling will be required contingent upon encouraging results from these first two phases.

Mr. Seymour Sears, P. Geo., the author of the Report, has reviewed the technical content of this Press Release.

United Reef Options Nixon-Bartleman Property in West Timmins Area

      9:15 AM ET, January 25, 2010

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan 25, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- United Reef Limited (URP) ("United Reef" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has entered into a definitive option agreement to acquire a 70% interest in nineteen contiguous mining claims (4 patented and 15 unpatented claims) making up the Nixon-Bartleman gold property. The claims cover a total area of approximately 313 ha (773 acres) and are located in Keefer and Hillary Townships in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of northeastern Ontario. The four patented claims in the centre of the property cover the historic Nixon-Bartleman gold showing. The property is currently owned by Casey Enterprises Inc. (the "Optionor"), a private Ontario company. United Reef has retained an independent consultant to make a site visit to the property, to prepare a compilation report of historic exploration work completed on the property and to make recommendations for future work. The following has been summarized from his preliminary findings.

The Nixon-Bartleman property lies within the West Timmins mining area, in the western part of the Timmins Gold Camp. Since the first discovery in 1909, this famous gold camp has produced in excess of 66 million ounces of gold from approximately 50 operating mines. :lick:

Until recently, the West Timmins area has not been well explored. Following the exploration success of companies such as Lakeshore Gold Corp., the area has become a major exploration camp as a host of exploration companies have acquired ground and are in the early stages of evaluating numerous historical gold prospects and carrying out programs in search of new discoveries.
Most of the known deposits in the Timmins camp are spatially related to a major regional fault structure referred to as the Porcupine-Destor Deformation Zone (PDDZ). The deposits occur in Archean aged meta-volcanic rocks although they are typically accompanied by metasedimentary rocks, quartz-feldspar porphyritic and ultramafic intrusive rocks. Almost all known deposits of this type are hosted within shear zones and are accompanied by quartz-carbonate alteration.

The Nixon-Bartleman gold prospect is located within a narrow band of volcanic and sedimentary rocks that are flanked on the north and south by tonalitic phases of a large granitic body, the Kenogamissi Batholith. The main gold occurrences on the Nixon-Bartleman property are centered approximately 22 km southwest of Lakeshore's West Timmins mine and 10 km from their west claim boundary. The PDDZ structure is not precisely delineated in this area because of overburden cover and the lack of detailed geological mapping, but all available government geological maps show this zone passing through the center of the Nixon-Bartleman claim group.

The Optionor has granted United Reef the right and option, subject to regulatory approval, to acquire a 70% interest in the Nixon-Bartleman property whereby United Reef will make exploration expenditures totalling $150,000 on the property over a period of three years, make cash payments totalling $50,000 and issue 2,300,000 common shares of the Company over the three year term of the option. Upon United Reef vesting a 70% interest in the property, the parties will form a joint venture for the exploration and development of the property with United Reef having a 70% interest and being the operator and the Optionor having a 30% interest. The property is subject to a 2% net smelter royalty held by a former property owner.

United Reef will be required to make minimum exploration expenditures of $50,000 during the first year of the option and will make initial cash payment of $10,000 and issue 1,100,000 common shares of United Reef to the Optionor upon receipt of regulatory approval for the transaction. The transaction is also subject to completion of other due diligence matters including receipt of a title opinion. The common shares proposed to be issued pursuant to the agreement referred to above, will be subject to regulatory re-sale restrictions of four months after the date of issuance.

The acquisition of the Nixon-Bartleman option continues to further United Reef's objective of being a focused precious metal explorer in Canada. The Company is continuing to evaluate additional gold projects. Additional drilling results from the Company's Nickel Offsets property are expected in the near future.

Mr. Seymour Sears, P. Geo., an independent consultant to the Company has reviewed the technical content of this Press Release.

      ...lags daran..........

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 21, 2010) - United Reef Limited (TSX VENTURE:URP - News; "United Reef") is pleased to announce that it has finalized the option agreement to acquire a 70% interest in nineteen contiguous mining claims covering the historic Nixon-Bartleman gold occurrence in the West Timmins area of the Porcupine Gold Camp (see press release dated January 25, 2010).

The Porcupine-Destor Fault strikes through the centre of the property from northeast to southwest and the property is also believed to host a cross-cutting fault splay. United Reef retained Mr. Seymour M. Sears, B.A., B.Sc., and P.Geo. of Sears, Barry & Associates ("SBA") to make a site visit to the property, to prepare a compilation report of historic exploration work completed on the property and to make recommendations for future work. The following has been summarized from his preliminary findings.

Most of the known gold deposits in the Timmins camp are spatially related to a major regional fault structure referred to as the Porcupine-Destor Deformation Zone (PDDZ). They occur in Archean aged meta-volcanic rocks although they are typically accompanied by metasedimentary rocks, quartz-feldspar porphyritic and ultramafic intrusive rocks.

The main gold occurrences on the property are centered approximately 22 km southwest of Lake Shore Gold Corp.'s West Timmins Mine and 10 km from their west claim boundary. The PDDZ structure is not precisely delineated in the property area because of overburden cover and the lack of detailed geological mapping. To date the West Timmins area has not been well explored.

Five gold bearing quartz veins have been located on the Nixon-Bartleman property. Two of these have been exposed by stripping along a bedrock ridge near the center of the claims. There is limited bedrock exposure in other parts of the property. One of the known gold occurrences is located within a sheared and metamorphosed (diopside-amphibole-carbonate-silica) mafic volcanic rock that has been described as an autoclastic breccia. A quartz vein and stringer zone within this shear has been traced for approximately 60 metres in the most westerly stripped area. Historic samples reported from this zone have returned gold values ranging from trace to 50.7 g/t. Three chip-channel samples collected by Mr. Sears from this zone during an October 2009 property visit assayed 9.10 g/t Au over 0.8 m; 6.11 g/t Au over 2.0 m; and 8.65 g/t Au over 2.0 m. The samples were collected to confirm the presence of gold mineralization and did not cover the total width of the zone in these areas.

A second occurrence was located beside an old shaft that is reported to be from 3 to 5 metres deep. The shaft is located approximately 80 metres northeast of the sheared zone but, unless offset by faulting, is not the same structure. A quartz vein beside the shaft is approximately 1.5 metres wide but narrows rapidly along strike towards the west. A grab sample from this vein collected by Mr. Sears assayed 4.33 g/t Au and a 1.5 metre chip-channel sample across it assayed 1.52 g/t Au. A further grab sample collected by him from a narrow quartz vein (20 cm) located 35 m southwest of the shaft assayed 13.15 g/t Au and is from a different vein system than either of the two described above. All of the vein material sampled during the property visit contained minor amounts of pyrite, chalcopyrite and galena.

Based upon the data examined to date by SBA and observations during their property visit in October 2009, they have suggested that the sheared and altered zone exposed in the western stripped area has very good exploration potential. The mineralized veins exposed at surface along the 60 metre strike of the sheared structure have complex shapes and orientations. Individually the veins appear to pinch and swell along strike ranging from several cm to 0.8 m in width, but they occur as multiple parallel veins within a deformed and altered zone that are often mineralized for a width of several metres. The wider veining is actually believed to be caused by folding and appears to be folded along two axes, one of these being near vertical and the other near horizontal.

SBA is continuing their compilation work from historic exploration data from the property and has recommended an initial two phased exploration program for the property. The budget for the two phases is approximately $639,000 (Phase I - $300,000; Phase II - $339,000). An initial close spaced diamond drilling program of 1,200 m is planned in Phase I and an additional 2,000 m in Phase II. A further delineation type program consisting mainly of diamond drilling will be required contingent upon encouraging results from these first two phases.

United Reef has made the initial cash payment of $10,000 and issued 1,100,000 common shares to the property owner pursuant to the terms of the option, which has been amended to have an effective date of April 7, 2010.

Mr. Seymour M. Sears has reviewed the technical content of this Press Release.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 9, 2010) - United Reef Limited (TSX VENTURE:URP - News; "United Reef") is pleased to announce that URSA Major Minerals Incorporated ("URSA Major") (TSX:UMJ - News) has commenced a Phase 2 drilling program to test nickel-copper-precious metal mineralization at United Reef's past producing Nickel Offsets Mine property, located in Foy Township, 40 km northwest of Sudbury, Ontario. The surface diamond drilling program will explore high grade, massive nickel-copper sulphide targets in the Foy Offset Dyke, in the footwall of the Sudbury Complex. URSA Major has an option to earn a 70% interest in the property from United Reef.

URSA Major announced today that their Phase 2 program will include approximately 2,000 meters of diamond drilling and borehole EM to follow up on the massive sulphide targets and prospective geological contacts identified in the first phase program completed in late 2009. URSA Major's initial 5-hole 1,807 meter drilling program identified massive sulphide targets in proximity to the existing workings of the past producing Nickel Offset No.1 Mine. The assays from drill hole U15-02, previously reported, provided the best intersection of the initial URSA Major program with 1.6 meters grading 3.12% nickel, 1.15% copper, 0.12% cobalt, 1.39 g/t platinum, 2.04 g/t palladium and 0.21 g/t gold. See press release dated February 1, 2010. This high grade intersection is a newly discovered mineralized lens and is located at a shallow level adjacent to the former mine workings at a down hole depth of 250.4 to 252.0 meters. Their Phase 2 program will initially test a borehole EM anomaly that is interpreted as a massive nickel sulphide lens centered east of and below hole U15-02.

Richard Sutcliffe, URSA Major's CEO commented in their announcement today, "The Foy Offset Dyke exhibits a mineralization profile similar to major offset dykes in the Sudbury basin and we look forward to testing the massive sulphide target identified in our initial program along with other high grade targets at this past producing property."

The Nickel Offsets property consists of twelve contiguous patented mining claims and five unpatented mining claims covering a total of 358 ha (884 acres). The property hosts the past-producing Nickel Offsets (Ross) Mine which between 1943 and 1957 produced 208,551 tons of nickel and copper ore with reported recoveries of 4.56 million lbs of nickel and 3.32 million lbs of copper. Historical underground exploration and mining development at the Nickel Offset property included 1,599 feet of shaft sinking, approximately 10,000 feet of drifting and 3,980 feet of raising on 9 levels at the No. 1 Mine and 1,056 feet of shaft sinking, approximately 6,000 feet of drifting and 410 feet of raising on 5 levels in the No. 2 Mine. The property covers a 2.25 km strike length of the Foy Offset Dyke.

Mr. Peter George, P. Geo., an independent director of the company, has reviewed the technical content of this Press Release.

The proceeds of the private placement will be used to fund initial exploration programs on the Company's Nixon Bartleman (Timmins) and Santa Maria (Dryden) gold properties, for property maintenance costs, asset acquisition investigations and for general corporate purposes.

United Reef has retained Mr. Seymour M. Sears, B.A., B.Sc., and P.Geo. of Sears, Barry & Associates ("SBA") to prepare a compilation report of historic exploration work carried out on the Nixon Bartleman property, to make recommendations for future work and to supervise new exploration programs on the property. The following has been summarized from his on-going compilation.

The Nixon Bartleman property covers an area of favourable geology lying to the southwest of the Lakeshore Gold Project in the West Timmins gold camp. The Porcupine-Destor Fault ("PDF") strikes through the centre of the property from northeast to southwest and the property is also believed to host splays from the PDF and one or more cross-cutting faults. These structures are often favourable hosts for gold mineralization in this type of geological environment. At least 5 known gold occurrences have been identified on the property and the most explored of these is a prospect referred to as the Nixon-Bartleman showing.

Historic exploration on this prospect has included stripping, channel sampling and a limited amount of diamond drilling. The channel sampling has identified a 60 metre long zone between 1 and 6.0 metres wide with grades averaging 4.4 g/t Au and 14 g/t Ag with individual 1.0 metre long channel samples ranging from 0.83 to 18.69 g/t Au and 0.37 to 47.6 g/t Ag. Three chip-channel samples collected by Mr. Sears from this zone during an October 2009 property visit assayed 9.10 g/t Au over 0.8 m; 6.11 g/t Au over 2.0 m; and 8.65 g/t Au over 2.0 m. The best intersection from the 6 known drill holes that tested this zone was reported as 13.5 g/t Au and 137 g/t Ag over 3.0 m at a depth of 100 metres below surface.

The gold mineralization on the property is associated with quartz veins localized within a sheared, altered mafic unit. The veining is folded in both horizontal and vertical orientation. This folding is believed to have resulted in mineralized lenses that plunge either shallowly or in a near vertical direction. A shallow drilling program consisting of 9 holes on three closely-spaced fences is proposed to determine the continuity and trend of the mineralized structure as well as test the grade of the mineralization. Once this trend is established, a drill program consisting of deeper holes can be planned with a much higher probability of success.

In addition to the Nixon-Bartleman Prospect, previous drilling on the property intersected a quartz porphyry intrusion of considerable size potential located beneath overburden cover in the north-central part of the property. The silicified margins of the intrusion were found to contain elevated gold mineralization (values up to 0.39 g/t Au). This type of structure has potential to host large tonnage, low-grade gold mineralization. One drill hole is also planned along strike to the northeast of the known intrusion where it is projected to intersect favourable complex folded stratigraphy. SBA is continuing their compilation work of historic exploration data from the property.

SBA has also provided a program and budget for an initial reconnaissance program on the Company's Santa Maria project in the Dryden area summarized as follows. The Santa Maria property includes at least 6 known gold occurrences with historic gold values ranging from trace to 28.0 g/t. Visible gold has been reported in at least three of the zones. There has been very little exploration completed in the area covered by the United Reef claims. The property covers a series of strongly developed, deeply seated east-west structures that lie along the north flank of a major northwest trending fault zone. These structural features are indicated on OGS geological maps of the area, satellite imagery and field observations. The property also hosts intense carbonate alteration and silicified zones. A reconnaissance exploration program is recommended as the first step in evaluating this property. This work should primarily consist of locating and sampling all of the known gold occurrences as well as completing initial examination of several areas of known carbonate and silica alteration and quartz porphyritic host rocks as indicated on government produced preliminary geological maps.

Mr. Seymour M. Sears, P. Geo. has reviewed the technical content of this Press Release.

      PRESS RELEASES 3/2/2011 4:15:00 AM
United Reef Completes Drilling Program, Awaiting Assays on Nixon Bartleman Property, West Timmins Area
March 2, 2011 - 09:15:00 AM TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2011) - United Reef Limited (TSX VENTURE:URP) ("United Reef or the Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed an initial 597 meter drilling program on the Nixon Bartleman gold property. The program was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Seymour M. Sears, P.Geo. of Sears, Barry & Associates Limited. United Reef has an option to acquire a 70% interest in the nineteen contiguous mining claims (4 patented and 15 unpatented claims) making up the Nixon-Bartleman property. The claims cover a total area of approximately 313 ha (773 acres) in Keefer and Hillary Townships. The program was designed to test two distinct types of gold mineralization on the property as outlined in our press release dated January 24, 2011.

Six shallow close-spaced holes were completed on the historic Nixon Bartleman Prospect. These holes were collared within 10 to 25 metres of the surface exposure of the target zone for the purpose of testing the main mineralized vein system between surface and a historic drill hole intersection. That intersection, at a vertical depth of 100 metres, was reported to have intersected 3.0 metres assaying 13.5 g/t Au and 137 g/t Ag. Three set-ups were utilized with 2 holes drilled at different inclinations or bearings from each set-up. Two of these set-ups (four holes) were drilled from the northwest side of the northeast trending zone exposed at the Nixon Bartleman showing. All four holes intersected a gabbroic dyke zone lying directly beneath the surface vein system and all four intersected an alteration zone along the margins of this dyke. The altered zones (K-spar, mica, silica, and sulphides) contain contorted quartz veining similar in appearance to the gold bearing surface zone although no visible gold was observed during logging of the core. The alteration zone is particularly well developed along the southern margin of the dyke where it ranges from 2 to 10 metres in intersected width.

Two additional holes were collared to the east of the main Nixon Bartleman shaft (3 metres) to test for the northeast and down-dip extension of the mineralized zone. Both holes intersected vein material at shallow depths.

In addition to the Nixon Bartleman main zone holes, one hole (197 metres) was drilled to test for gold mineralization associated with a quartz feldspar porphyry (QFP) body that was intersected by previous explorers. This hole collared in an intense deformation zone consisting of talc-carbonate-quartz-magnetite along with several sulphide and quartz vein zones before entering a wide zone of tuffaceous volcanic rocks. This unit may be associated with the previously intersected QFP zone. Numerous narrow zones containing sulphides and quartz stringers were intersected within the volcanic rocks.

The table below provides a summary of the collar locations and other details relating to the holes.
