Ich erwarte neue Daten zum orphan drug Kandidat Firdapse™ Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) Phase III. Diese wurden für das Q1 prophezeit. Können also täglich kommen.
100 Mio Umsatz/a. wäre ein Segen für solch einen Spezialisten wie CPRX. Der Kurs wäre mit 0.55 klar zu tief. Teamplayer BioMarin BMRN hat es vorgezeigt.

Bin auch interessiert an einem Einstieg. Habe allerdings folgende Fragen, die mich derzeit davon abhalten einzusteigen:

Gemäß CPRX-Homepage werden die Peak-Sales von Firdapse auf knapp 100 Mio in den USA geschätzt. Ist das vor dem Hintergrund der europäischen Umsatzerlöse überhaupt realistisch?

Ebenfalls gemäß CPRX-Homepage gibt es ein Konkurrenzprodukt in Phase II. Das würde bedeuten, dass 12-18 Monate nach Zulassung von Firdapse direkte Konkurrenz droht. Sind dann die o.g. Umsatzprognosen noch zu halten?

Kann mich derzeit nicht so recht durchringen, obwohl die Chancen für einen Run-Up bis zu den Ergebnissen sicherlich vorhanden sind.

die Frage stellt sich meiner Ansicht nach nicht. Wenn ein solcher Nischen-Player wie catalyst es schafft ein Medikament auf den Markt zu bringen und Einnahmen zu generieren um somit die weitere Forschung zu finanzieren bzw. Gewinne zu schreiben, ist dies ein Segen! Schau dir mal die cash-burn-rate an, selbst wenn Firdapse nur 50 Mio. Umsatz erreicht, könnte hier schnell ein begehrtes Übernahmeziel entstehen. Habe heute eine weitere Position zu 0,98 $ aufgebaut, 41 Mio. MK sind wirklich lächerlich

CPRX war aber schon immer gut für grosse Hüpfer...auch nach unten. Dennoch glaube ich dass hier etwas ganz grosses entsteht. Biomarin hat es vorgemacht und steht heute bei 65. CPRX ist ihm praktisch gleichem Segment und mit identischen Vorgaben.

the study met the pre-specified primary endpoint (CPRX) : Co announced positive results from a study jointly funded with, and conducted by BioMarin Pharma (BMRN) to assess the cardiac safety of Firdapse tablets (amifampridine also known as 3,4-DAP). Firdapse is approved in the E.U., where it is marketed by BioMarin. Firdapse is also currently in Phase 3 development in the U.S. for Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (:LEMS) by Catalyst.

The study met the pre-specified primary endpoint, demonstrating that at and above therapeutic levels, there was no effect of Firdapse (administered as phosphate salt) on heart rate or cardiac depolarization. None of the study subjects developed new, clinically relevant electrocardiographic/morphological changes following administration of Firdapse. Additionally, there was no significant effect of Firdapse on cardiac repolarization as assessed using the QT interval.

The QT interval represents the amount of time the heart's electrical system takes to repolarize, or recharge, after each beat. Nein ein Blockbuster wird es nicht. Eher ein Nischenprodukt (LEMS) mit viel Potenzial in anderen Inikationen (CMS etc.). Bei der Marketcap. des Unternehmens eine Geldbombe.
Wenn der Kurs 20 erreicht, besteht die Möglichkeit bereits dass das Unternehmen im günstigsten Fall für 40 verkauft wird....

Also hier liegt alles drinn. Hab vor Jahren schon mal bei 0.80 gekauft und bei 4.00 verkauft.
Bei der NDA glaub ich nicht unbedingt an einen groben Kurshüpfer. Eher an die Beständigkeit. Das müsste unbedingt sein um auch in zukunft bestehen zu können.

CORAL GABLES, Fla., March 15, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Catalyst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Catalyst) (CPRX), a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative therapies for people with rare neuromuscular and neurological diseases, today announced positive top-line results from the investigator-sponsored trial evaluating Firdapse® (Amifampridine Phosphate) as a treatment for myasthenia gravis patients with anti-MuSK antibodies (MuSK-MG). MuSK-MG, is an ultra-rare sub-population of myasthenia Gravis (MG) patients which is a debilitating neuromuscular disease, and there are currently no FDA approved therapies for this specific form of MG. Both of the co-primary efficacy endpoints of change from baseline (CFB) in total Quantitative Myasthenia Gravis (QMG) score (p=0.0003) and CFB in total Myasthenia Gravis Activities of Daily Living (MG-ADL) score (p=0.0006) were statistically and clinically significant in this seven patient trial. Several secondary efficacy measures also achieved statistical significance. Amifampridine phosphate was well tolerated in this population of patients.

The study was conducted by a team of researchers led by Renato Mantegazza, MD, Director, Department of Neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular Diseases, Fondazione Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Milan, Italy, a major referral center for MuSK-MG patients. The study was designed as a randomized (1:1), double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover, outpatient study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and potential efficacy of amifampridine phosphate in patients diagnosed with MuSK-MG. Catalyst provided funding, study drug, and placebo for this trial.

Dr. Mantegazza, the principal investigator of this trial, stated, “Our prospective study evaluating amifampridine phosphate for the symptomatic relief of antibody positive MuSK-MG was statistically significant in demonstrating that it can be an important treatment option. Not only are the results statistically significant, but more importantly, there was a large clinical benefit to the patients. Current treatments for MuSK-MG patients are often inadequate and these patients often face a lifetime of severe complications, including difficulty walking, talking, swallowing, and breathing normally, and in some cases their disease may be life-threatening and require hospitalization and intensive care. Amifampridine phosphate may offer us an effective treatment option. I look forward to the day when I can use this drug in routine clinical practice of treating MuSK-MG patients.”

Dr. Silvia Bonanno, one of the investigators from the Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta, is planning to present these results at the 13th International Conference on Myasthenia Gravis and Related Disorders in May, 2017 in New York City, provided her abstract is accepted as a Hot Topic Short Talk. This conference is organized by the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America and the New York Academy of Sciences.
