Archer Exploration (ASX:AXE) has achieved finely crystalline natural graphite concentrate of greater than 99% following initial testing of its Campoona graphite project in South Australia.

The results were achieved from conventional mechanical cell floatation and the graphitic carbon completed using Thermogravimetric Analysis.

Simple metallurgical processing means that Campoona graphite can be prepared from mechanical float cells typically at ≥98% carbon (TGA) with limited beneficiation to deliver in excess of 99% carbon.

While high tech applications that require graphite grading of greater than 99.95% TGA typically rely on synthetic graphite, Campoona provides natural graphite at grades to rival synthetic graphite, while delivering high crystalline graphite.

Synthetic graphite is expensive to produce and typically trades at prices greater than US$7,000/t.

But Campoona can deliver very high quality natural graphite powders from a low cost, high yielding extractive process, where unit margins are likely to give the project robustness in almost any price regime.

Since October 2012 the Company has undertaken rigorous metallurgical bench-scale testing of representative diamond drill core samples of Campoona graphite.
Several successive tests have delivered -75 micron graphite concentrates grading ≥99% carbon.

The next phase will be to replicate the bench-scale results using scale-up testing. Scale-up testing will deliver many kilograms of final product for diagnostic testing and distribution to selected end users.

The company spent $548,000 on exploration and evaluation last quarter and had a cash balance of $11.19 million. There is potential for share price upside as tts shares trading at 17.5 cents have a cash backing of 13.5 cents, leaving its assets valued at a mere 4 cents per share.

(the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CCB), (FRANKFURT:U7N1) announces that it has closed a non-brokered private placement (the "Private Placement") which raised gross proceeds of $500,000. Specifically, the Company issued 3,750,000 units ("Units") and 1,250,000 flow-through units ("Flow-Through Units"). Hi hbg55,

habe schon ein oder zwei seiten vorher darauf hingewiesen, dass die früher Bolero Resources hießen und sich schon mit REEs versuchten. Davor hatten sie ein Moly-Projekt optioniert, aber davon wieder "abgelassen".

Inzwischen dürften sich im Management aber auch einige Änderungen ergeben haben. Ansonsten bin ich hier sehr skeptisch (im Hype Wechsel zu REE - man sieht den REE-Spike nach oben soger im Chart (Juli 2011) und anschließend zu Graphit)...

Allerdings gehts heute hoch:

Talga Resources begins drilling in graphite deposit in north Sweden

PERTH (Commodity Online): Talga Resources Limited (ASX: TLG) has reported that it has commenced drilling at its 100% owned Raitajarvi graphite deposit in north Sweden.

The drilling program is being undertaken to test for strike and depth extensions of the current JORC inferred flake graphite resource grading 10.8% Cg, which was based on historic drilling by the Geological Survey of Sweden. In addition, the drillcore will provide detailed geological, structural and metallurgical information to potentially fast-track the deposit to preliminary economic studies.

Graphite at Raitajarvi is hosted by a sequence of metasediments and schists. In the four holes completed to date, multiple zones of graphite up to 35m down hole width have been intersected.

These holes are located up to 100m south of the current JORC resource, confirming the potential for a significant upgrade in resource size. The zones appear to compare favourably with those intersected in historic drilling within the resource area.

Managing Director, Mark Thompson said, “We are pleased to be drilling again in Sweden, with winter offering ideal conditions and diamond drilling being the fastest way to advance towards economic studies. We expect this phase of resource targeting to be completed by the end of March with assay results available for a new resource estimate within a further 4-6 weeks.”

“The historic work by the Geological Survey of Sweden showed the graphite at Raitajarvi to be of large flake size and marketable carbon grades. With commercial aspects of the end product already well understood, our drilling focusses simply on an expansion of resource tonnes. We aim to identify a mine life of 10 years or more for this attractive coarse flake graphite deposit on the doorstep of the European market,” he said.
