RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Brazil’s Petroleo Brasileiro SA will build its own oil platforms again from 2023, regardless of who wins the presidential election next month, an executive at the state-run oil company said.
Petrobras’ 2019-2023 business plan, set to be released in December, should include a resumption of platform construction thanks to the company’s improving finances, Petrobras’ director for production and technology development Hugo Repsold said.
“We will build platforms independently of who is president,” Repsold told Reuters on Wednesday night, on the sidelines of an oil event in Rio de Janeiro.
“We weren’t building platforms because we were poor. When you’re poor, you take a taxi, you take an Uber, but you don’t buy a car. Now Petrobras is getting more financially healthy and it will begin making platforms,” he said, adding that all platforms needed through 2022 have already been contracted out.

In connection with the settlement of the SEC’s charges and the non-prosecution agreement with the Department of Justice, Petrobras has agreed to pay a total of $933 million in disgorgement and prejudgment interest and an $853 million penalty. These payments are subject to offsets for, respectively, certain payments it makes to investors in a related class-action settlement and penalties paid to law enforcement authorities in Brazil. The SEC’s order also establishes a Fair Fund to distribute the penalty received by the SEC to harmed investors.

Petrobras (PBR +1.9%) plans to raise production by as much as 10% to ~2.3M bbl/day next year and cut net debt by $10B, CFO Rafael Grisolia says.
PBR - the world’s most indebted oil company - is on course to reduce debt to $69B by year-end 2018 from $106B in 2014, despite falling short of its $21B asset sales target, Grisolia tells Reuters in an interview.
A $10B reduction in net debt would reach a ratio of 2x net debt-to-EBITDA, the CFO says, and the company aims to continue cutting debt until the ratio hits 1x-1.5x, which would put the company in line with global oil majors.
Over the next 5-6 years upon achieving debt restructuring targets, PBR may consider foreign investments to facilitate exports of rising production from the development of Brazil's deepwater pre-salt fields, Grisolia says.

Die zu 6,65 Euro behalte ich bis der Kurs zweistellig wird.
