Precision Optics Corporation, Inc. (Nasdaq: POCI) announced today operating results on an unaudited basis for the third quarter and nine months of fiscal year 2000 ended March 31, 2000.

Third Quarter Operating Result

Revenues for the quarter were $784,503 compared to $790,846 for the same period in fiscal year 1999, a decrease of 0.8%. Revenues for the third quarter of fiscal year 2000 increased 33.6% sequentially over revenues for the second quarter of fiscal year 2000. Net loss was $667,662, or $0.08 per share, compared to $385,764, or $0.06 per share, for the same period last year.

For the nine months ended March 31, 2000, revenues were $2,088,791 compared to $2,327,831 for the same period last year, a decrease of 10.3%. Net loss was $1,818,547, or $0.23 per share, compared to $1,147,927 or $0.17 per share, for the same period last year.

The decrease in revenues for the third quarter and the nine months ended March 31, 2000 compared to last year reflects expected lower sales of medical and night vision products, partially offset by higher sales of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexer (DWDM) filters. The increase in net loss for the quarter and year to date is attributable primarily to higher research and development spending, DWDM filter production start-up inefficiencies and higher fixed manufacturing costs.

Improved Production Trends for Fourth Quarter

As previously announced, shipments of 200GHz DWDM filters to a major customer resumed in late December 1999. Shipments of DWDM filters during the quarter were limited by production inefficiencies and represented 12.5% of total revenues for the third quarter. DWDM filter production began improving significantly in early April. DWDM filter shipments for the month through April 28 were made at a rate already 2 1/2 times the average rate of shipments made in the quarter ending March 31, 2000. The Company believes that shipments will continue to increase over the next several months as the manufacturing process is further refined. The Company continues to work closely with a number of current and potential customers to evaluate and refine prototype filters.

Increased Product Development Activities and New Production Resources

The Company has continued its investments in research and development and capital equipment, particularly in the DWDM and other telecommunication areas. Efforts were focused on improving manufacturing processes for 200GHz filters and development of 100GHz filters. Prototypes of 100GHz filters were displayed at the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference in Baltimore last month, and prototypes have been provided to several potential customers for evaluation. During the nine months ending March 31, 2000, research and development expenses were approximately $1,299,000 (up 64% from last year), and capital equipment expenditures were approximately $724,000 compared to approximately $400,000 for the same period last year. The capital equipment expenditures were focused primarily on expanding manufacturing capacity for DWDM filters. Such expenditures are expected to continue and accelerate during future quarters with the delivery of new optical thin film coating chambers and ancillary equipment scheduled for July 2000 through January 2001.

Financing

As previously announced, on March 17, 2000, the Company completed a private placement of 789,463 shares of common stock to qualified institutional and private investors, resulting in gross proceeds to the Company of $15 million. These funds will be used to acquire additional equipment and facilities, to provide increased production capacity for DWDM optical filters, for development of other telecommunications products, and for general corporate purposes.

In addition, warrants exercisable for 465,798 shares of common stock were issued in the private placement, with additional potential proceeds to the Company of up to $12.4 million upon exercise of the warrants.

Ich behalte diesen Wert im Auge, bin mit dem Kauf noch am Zögern, obwohl der Kurs dazu einlädt. Ich erwarte hier eine positive Entwicklung, muß aber noch ein wenig recherchieren.

Übrigens, die Empfehlung im Taipan hätte mich auch interessiert, leider komme ich ohne Paßwort nicht rein, da ich die neueste Ausgabe nicht besitze. Für ein posting wäre ich dankbar.

März einsehbar. April und Mai sind noch nicht drauf
Leider gibt der Artikel kaum Informationen her;
-hier alles was ich für wertvoll halte:

-POCI gehört den 6 weltweit einzigen unabhängigen Herstellern von dünnwandigen Filtern für DWDM-Geräte
(leider gibt Taipan nur 5 an:E-Tek,JDS Uniphase,NetOptix,Corning und Precision Optics)

-Precision soll bald seinen ersten 100 GHz Filter präsentieren
laut Morgan Stanley gab es bisher nur 2 Hersteller für 100Ghz Filter: Corning und Optical Coating

-Das Unternhemen hat die 3 P`s: Produkt, Personen, Produktionskapazitäten

Danke für das posting. Ich möchte noch ein kleines Gerücht hinzufügen, daher ohne Gewähr: POCI kooperiert mit NetOptix, bzw. der Präsident von NetOptix (Rolf Faber, ehemals bei Leybold GmbH in Hanau) mischt angeblich kräftig mit.
In dem Zusammenhang wäre es erwähnenswert, daß es auch eine Verbindung zu Luxell nach Kanada über diese Schiene gibt (aber wie gesagt, ich bin erst auf der Spur). Luxell bietet spezielle opt. Beschichtungen für OLED Displays, die erstens die Lebenszeit der Displays drastisch verlängern und sie erst für den kommerziellen Einsatz brauchbar machen, und zweitens eine unübertroffene Lesbarkeit ermöglichen. Noch kurz zu OLED Displays: diese ersetzen mit Sicherheit sämtliche Anzeigetechniken, wenn die Zeit reif ist.

Ich hab einige hundert am Donnerstag in mein Depot gelegt und ich denke das diese Aktie mindestens 100% hinlegen wird, und das innerhalb eines kurzem Zeitraum.
Guckt euch nur das an was Taipan empfohlen hat, ihr werdet kaum eine Aktie finden die nicht explodiert ist.
Taipan recherchiert gut und empfiehlt Aktien die mit 80-90%-er Sicherheit das erreichen was sie versprechen. Also leute, greift zu bevor es noch nicht zu spät ist.

Wollte eigentlich heute zuschlagen, bin aber über den ADR - Kurs in Berlin (918255) sehr verwundert.
+ 8 E heute bei über 30 % Aufschlag auf den Nasdaq - Kurs von Gestern.
Was soll das ? Hat jemand Informationen ?

so etwas passiert öfter, meistens bei Werten, die in Deutschland nur selten gehandelt werden. Wahrscheinlich ein unlimitierter Kauf von relativ großer Stückzahl. Deshalb in New York kaufen und immer limitieren.

Also ich hab bei 19,5 limt gestzt und bin sie für 18,50 losgeworden, bin sehr zufrieden. 45%
Aber meiner Meinung nach legt er morgen nochmal zu. Ich schätze bis 25 E wirds morgen werden.

Vielen Dank für Deine Antwort. Hatte mir schon so etwas gedacht,
inzwischen habe ich für 16,50 gekauft.
Da ich länger investiert bleiben will denke ich aber, dass es
bei steigenden Kursen in Deutschland auch keine Problem mehr mit den Umsätzen geben wird.
(siehe Zi-Corp -WKN 894201 -von TAIPAN empfohlen im Nov./Dez. 99)und viele andere ( aber leider nicht alle ) Empfehlungen von TAIPAN.
Habe das Blättchen seit 8/99 aboniert und schon viel Geld damit verdient.
TAIPAN setzt das Kursziel für P.O. kurzfristig bei 30 $ und mittelfristig bei 100 $ . Drei -Vater unser- und vier -Ave Maria- !!!!!!!

Meine Investition in P.O. ist längerfristig, und ich hoffe ebenso, daß die Umsätze bei uns steigen, dann sind wir über`m Berg (oder hinter`m Tal).

Bist Du Dir noch sicher bei dem Taipan - Kursziel 100 $ ??
Der Markt ist doch inzwischen ganz schön abgesackt. Ich bin im Moment auch garnicht so optimistisch , dass Herr Greenspan eine ein Nasdaq -Erholung über 3.700 i.d. nächten Zeit zulässt. Der braucht doch
nur noch mit den Folterinstrumenten zu winken und schon geht`s wieder auf Talfahrt. Mir kommt das so vor als ob gerade unse Po -Baby da sehr empfindlich reagiert , oder ?
Weisst Du noch einen anderen geeigneten Board in dem (sachlich)
über Po diskutiert wird ?

Precision Optics hört sich stark an. Was haltet ihr von dem Kursziel
bei 100 USD?

100 $ ist wohl "etwas" optimistisch. Aber der Kurs im Moment kann uns wohl nicht klagen lassen...
Leider fand heute keine Rallye wie gestern zum Schluss an der NASDAQ statt. Aber die Eröffnung am Montag wird wohl (sehr leicht) über dem heutigen Schlussstand liegen.

Der Widerstand um die 11$ hat (leider) gehalten. Vielleicht wird er Montag gebrochen? Es bliebe zu hoffen, obwohl der Test von heute nicht viel gebracht hat.
Ich halte ein kurzfristiges Kursziel von ca.15 € für möglich. Das würde ja auch ersteinmal reichen, oder?

Meines Erachtens ist POCI (vorerst) ein Kurzfristinvestment, das es zu beobachten gilt. Mangels Liquidität ist leider Berlin nicht die richtige Wahl. Ich weiß nicht, ob man sie da, wenn es sein muß, auch wieder verticken kann. - Wie sind Eure Erfahrungen?

Es würde mich freuen, wenn dieser Thread einmal wieder ein wenig zum Leben erwachen würde.

Meines Erachtens wird diese - doch leicht bis mittelstark dem NASDAQ folgende - Aktie nach der nun folgenden Erholung nach der leichten Depression letzte Woche wieder ein wenig gen Norden marschieren. Lieber langsam, aber sicher, als...

Ich bleibe jedenfalls (ab 8,60 €) weiter investiert.
