Betrug? Nein! Unvermögen, Schlamperei? Ja! Konsequenzen? Notwendig!
Deshalb hier die erste "notwendige" Maßnahme:
Gliatech names Robert Pinkas acting chairman
NEW YORK, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Gliatech Inc. (NasdaqNM:GLIA - news) on Friday replaced its chairman and named a new chief operating officer in the wake of the collapse of its proposed merger with Guilford Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NasdaqNM:GLFD - news) earlier this week because of regulatory concerns about its only U.S.-marketed drug, sending its stock reeling.
The Cleveland-based company named Robert Pinkas acting chairman, replacing Thomas Oesterling, who remains president and chief executive. Gliatech also named Rodney Dausch, who currently serves as chief financial officer and secretary, as chief operating officer. The COO position had been vacant.
Gliatech shares tumbled 60 percent on Tuesday after its planned acquisition by Guilford for $203 million in stock fell through because of U.S. Food and Drug Administration questions over the way Gliatech presented data on its only U.S.-marketed product, Adcon-L, a gel to prevent post-surgical scarring. Gliatech said it was conducting an internal investigation.
A Gliatech spokesman said that the management shuffle resulted from the week`s events.
``Obviuosly, in light of recent events the company has been going though, we wanted to make sure we can commit ourselves to a full resolution with the FDA,`` Gliatech spokesman Adam Gridley said.
