BroadVision To Offer New Services to Quantify Return on e-Business Investments

New Services Based on BroadVision’s In-depth Research and Eight Years of Customer Experience

LAS VEGAS, NV—June 4, 2001 — At BVision2001, the fifth annual BroadVision International User’s Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced a new service designed to help organizations quantify the potential return on their strategic e-business initiatives. This service, led initially by BroadVision’s Industry Solutions Consulting team, will evaluate an organization’s e-business strategy and make recommendations on how it can transform the way it conducts business and how it interacts with its key constituents to quickly increase growth and productivity while reducing business and IT costs. The service will later be made available through select BroadVision® partners who will have access to the same process, ROI data, and tools.
“In today’s business climate, providing facts and figures about the business value of a software solution is as important as demonstrating product features and functionality,” said Drew Bartkiewicz, vice president of Industry Solutions for BroadVision. “The Industry Solutions Consulting team service provides the tools and information that technology decision makers need to create positive bottom-line impact for their organizations.”

The service is designed to enable BroadVision’s prospects and customers to quickly determine the specific, measurable business value of BroadVision’s e-business solutions in the context of their own business. The methodology for this service was created by BroadVision in conjunction with Surgency, Inc. (formerly Benchmarking Partners), a leading e-business consulting and software solutions firm.

The service takes advantage of in-depth research conducted by BroadVision and Surgency on over 40 BroadVision customers who have used the Internet to transform their businesses. This research – and the process behind it – is designed to help BroadVision customers understand how to quantify the benefits of e-business solutions as they relate to Customer, Partner and Employee Relationship Management, knowledge management, and the effective use of enterprise portals for managing transactions and personalized information.

BroadVision Powers Digital Market for the Spanish Footwear Industry Federation

Spanish Footwear Industry Portal www.paso- paso.com Facilitates B2B Transactions, Offering Quick, Personalized Access to Industry Information and Other Value-Added Services

Redwood City, Calif.—June 20, 2001— BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN, Neuer Markt: BDN), a leading supplier of personalized e- business applications, announced that De Pie, S.A. de Iniciativas del Calzado, a company held by the Spanish Footwear Industry Federation (FICE) and 40 firms in the footwear and associated industries, is using BroadVision® software to power one of Spain’s first B2B marketplaces, www.paso-paso.com. De Pie used a suite of e-business applications from BroadVision – including BroadVision Business Commerce™ -- to create a site that connects footwear suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and retail outlets in order to lower costs, simplify purchases and transactions, promote synergies between participants and offer easy access to a range of services.
The paso-paso.com site was conceived as a business tool for the footwear industry -- a place where companies can have access to a whole series of value-added services and content, information useful for decision-making, as well as a platform for commercial B2B transactions

De Pie chose BroadVision for its industry-leading personalization capabilities, ease of integration with other systems and feature-rich application offerings. BroadVision’s personalization features are used to present customized content to individual users based on their profiles, enabling personalized offers that take into account factors such as purchasing frequency or customer quality. In addition, De Pie takes advantage of features that allow non-technical personnel to create and change business rules without requiring assistance from IT staff.

“BroadVision technology has enabled us to create a single source of personalized information tailored to the needs of each user, using business rules relevant to the footwear industry. Using BroadVision software we were able to reduce the deployment time for the first phase of this sophisticated project to just four months,” said Jorge Bousquet, CEO of De Pie, S.A.

Spanish system integrator BroadNexus supervised the development of De Pie’s BroadVision implementation in conjunction with BroadVision Global Services.

BroadVision Powers Online Initiatives for The Children`s Hospital of Philadelphia

BroadVision Applications Power Online Initiatives to Improve Customer Service, Convenience for Patients and Referring Physicians

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—June 26, 2001 — BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced that The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation’s first children’s hospital, has deployed the next generation of its Internet site using a suite of e-business applications from BroadVision. A variety of BroadVision® applications and tools – including BroadVision One-To-OneÒ Enterprise – have been used to create several initiatives that improve customer service and convenience for patients and referring physicians throughout the hospital’s extensive pediatric healthcare network.
These BroadVision-powered initiatives include a consumer portal that allows users to find information about pediatric diseases and conditions, health and safety topics, and the healthcare network’s related programs and services. Using the portal, patients can easily locate physicians, view physician profiles, request general pediatric or specialty appointments, and ask billing questions.

In addition, BroadVision software was used to create a referring physician portal that allows physicians to obtain information on children they’ve referred anywhere within the hospital’s network of 30+ facilities. Appointment and admission history, patient status, lab results and discharge notes can all be accessed within a password-protected, secure “dashboard.”

Children’s Hospital also takes advantage of BroadVision’s content management tools to streamline the publication, editing and updating of a large volume of health-related articles and information. Future plans include leveraging these tools to allow clinical departments to maintain content such as staff listings, hours of operation and news and event information on their departments’ respective web pages.

“The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia was a first in its industry, paving the path for unparalleled pediatric healthcare,” said Evan Crawford, executive director of the e- Transformation/e-Medicine Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. “In continuing our tradition of breaking new ground, we chose BroadVision to help us fully realize how we can move relationships online. Our portal initiative has enabled us to expand our reach globally, provide new avenues of interaction with patients and their families and capitalize on the benefits of portal technology to communicate with our referring physicians.”

BroadVision and webMethods Announce the Availability of the BroadVision B2B Gateway

The BroadVision B2B Gateway To Help Xerox Manage Real-Time Customer Requests Over the Internet

REDWOOD CITY, Ca. and FAIRFAX, Va. – July 17, 2001 — BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading provider of personalized e-business applications, today announced the availability of the BroadVision(r) B2B Gateway. Built upon the webMethods (Nasdaq: WEBM) integration platform, the BroadVision B2B Gateway provides seamless integration capabilities among trading partners, across the firewall and over the Internet. The jointly developed offering integrates data from back end systems into dynamic web sites – these back-end systems can include applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems.
The BroadVision B2B Gateway offers seamless information exchange across trading networks, with transformation of multiple data sources supported through interoperability standards (including XML, CXML, EDI, OBI, BizTalk, and RosettaNet) over the Internet. With pre-built “on- ramps,” suppliers can quickly connect to popular marketplaces such as Ariba and Commerce One networks.

By implementing BroadVision B2B Gateway as part of a BroadVision solution, customers can rapidly connect to and manage relationships with multiple trading partners, successfully facilitating their business transactions and online relationships.

“With the BroadVision B2B Gateway, customers can facilitate real-time business transactions between trading partners, and at the same time, provide integration to back-end systems and the analysis and reporting tools required to make informed business decisions,” said Raj Rao, senior vice president of product strategy for BroadVision. “Ultimately, BroadVision and webMethods provide customers an integration platform that is bundled with BroadVision enterprise e-business applications.”

“Tying back-end systems into BroadVision’s web sites further increases their ability to provide a truly personalized experience for web site users,” said David Hinman, vice president of technology partners for webMethods. “BroadVision continues to demonstrate leadership in identifying and building customer solutions that meet critical business needs. Working together, BroadVision and webMethods can significantly impact a business’ ability to provide customers with the information they need, when they need it, easily over the Internet.”

Xerox Selects the BroadVision B2B Gateway

Earlier this year, Xerox Corporation deployed its redesigned corporate web site at www.xerox.com using BroadVision applications including BroadVision Business Commerce™. Xerox has now selected the BroadVision B2B Gateway to build upon BroadVision Business Commerce in order to allow Xerox’s customers and trading partners to have real-time access to vital information stored in the back-end systems of Xerox as well as the back-end systems of Xerox’s partners – all accessed directly from the Xerox.com web site. The information will be integrated into the web site, allowing customers to have their questions answered easily from one source.

“Xerox.com has several applications in development with BroadVision and webMethods that will soon help us support our customers even better,” said Fred Heller, vice president and general manager, Xerox.com. “We can leverage our unified customer interface with real-time data from our legacy systems and from trading partners in real-time for our customer.”
