Merrill Upgrades Interwoven

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA --(INTERNET WIRE)--Aug 22, 2001-- Among the wide range of North American
stocks available to EquityAlert.com`s news alert subscribers, a free service available at www.equityalert.com, was Interwoven Inc.
(NASDAQ: IWOV - news), which rose on news of an analyst upgrade.

Merrill Lynch analyst Scott Phillips upgraded the stock to "accumulate" from "neutral." Phillips said Merrill had evaluated the share
as worth $10 a share on a price vs. earnings basis. Merrill`s calculation also factored in the slowdown in U.S. spending on
information technology as well as a moderate slowing in Europe.

In his research note Phillips stated that although its too early to estimate the company`s performance for the current quarter,
Merrill`s field checks indicated Interwoven had a strong July and that the remainder of the third quarter is on track. Interwoven
Inc. announced that Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE: NVO - news) is using Interwoven`s Content Infrastructure product suite for all
new company Web content management and deployment.

war ja gestern eine tolle vorstellung. charttechnisch sieht
auch alles gut aus. meiner meinung nach gehen wir auf
richtung 10$ zu!

Suffice to say, I do not make a habit of posting, but yesterday`s conference call and the two big deals
Interwoven recently inked were awesome!

All readers are encouraged to call in and listen to the conference call (by Thurs. afternoon). Hey, if you`ve got
money on the line, it`s prudent to invest the time. The number is 1-800-633-8284; press code #19814076. It is
rare is hear both Martin and Dave Allen (CFO) so excited and optimistic about the company`s outlook.

In my opinion, today`s upgrades were a nice start with many more to follow. It`s going to take a day or two for
all the analysts to digest the significance of the conference call.

By the way, I heard Dave state that most of the revenue from the signed IBM deal (which Martin confirmed
"stretches" the high end category of a large deal -- $5M-$15M) will show in Q4. If that`s true, then guidance
for Q4 will be stellar. You financial wizards can imagine the impact a single $15M deal will have on an
earnings per share basis.

The second huge deal will be detailed on Oct. 18 during the regularly scheduled (and now highly anticipated)
Q3 conference call. This "win" and prospective future business from existing as well as new clients, including
IBM should provide for a nice 2002 guidance.

Martin proclaimed that an industry report confirms that Interwoven is stand-alone without competitors in key
markets. But that doesn`t stop the company from pursuing smaller deals. I interpret this to mean just because
our competitors are staying out of our backyard doesn`t preclude us from moving into theirs. Business is
business!

In my opinion, next week`s GearUp 2001 conference which includes presentations from industry leaders such
as Larry Bowden, IBM vice president of e-portal solutions (not to mention the celebrity appearance of Lance
Armstrong) should produce more exciting announcements.

So between now and Oct. 18, things look extremely "green" for shareholders. I would caution readers from
giving too much credence to posters who claim to be shorting or ranting about the share price tanking. Such
scare tactics are mere ploys to increase volatility and to create a market for unscrupulous traders.

It`s worth noting that it is not uncommon for analysts to also make a market in the equities they cover. That`s a
fact of life, so investors must be savvy and cautious.

And finally, for what it`s worth, take some advice from a seasoned investor and Si Valley veteran -- this equity
is not conducive for day and margin-trading, nor is it for the faint-at-heart. There`s no need to play IWOV like
a craps game. Just my opinion of course.

By the way Lance, I agree -- it`s not about the bike -- it`s about Interwoven!
