      Friday, 16. Sep 2005, 12:15
      Unternehmen: HONGKONG.COM

      Hongkong 16.09.05 (www.emfis.com)

HONG KONG, Sept. 28 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- China.com Inc. (Nachrichten) (the "Company" or "China.com"; Hong Kong Stock Code: 8006), an 81%-owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation today announced that the Company`s 48%-owned online gaming subsidiary, Beijing 17game Network Technology Co. Ltd. ("17game"), has achieved over 9.0 million registered accounts to its game, Yulgang -- just two months following the game`s commercial launch on July 15, 2005. Yulgang is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) with 2.5D graphics and cartoon-style characters developed by MGame in Korea. The remaining 52% of 17game is owned by 17game`s founders and employees and the Company has a right to buy these remaining shares of 17game that it does not otherwise own.

Since the game was launched commercially in mid July, it has reached its highest level of concurrent (Nachrichten) users during peak usage periods of over 215,000. 17game has pioneered the "free-to-play and pay-for-virtual-merchandise" business model for MMORPGs in China, and the company expects to see further traction in the coming quarters.

17Game continues to remain dedicated to delivering unparalleled service to Chinese gamers with fully localized content and expanded around-the-clock customer support. 17game is expanding its online and offline promotions and marketing initiatives to target additional user demographics and geographic regions.

"We are very extremely pleased with the promising results of Yulgang during the first two month of commercialization. We believe that the game has established itself as one of only two successfully launched MMORPG in China this year and is now one of the top five such games in the market today," said Rudy Chan, CEO of China.com Inc. Ich verstehe jedoch nicht, warum heute keiner gekauft hat.

CDC Corporation Subsidiary, China.com Inc., Seeking to Establish an ADR Program in the United States
      9/29/2005 7:49:25 AM

HONG KONG, Sept 29, 2005 /Xinhua-PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- CDC Corporation (CHINA) today announced that its 81% owned subsidiary, China.com Inc., currently listed in Hong Kong on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market under the ticker symbol 8006, is seeking to establish a sponsored Level 2 American Depositary Receipts ("ADR") program in the United States. The establishment of the ADR program is subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions and there is no assurance that China.com Inc. can successfully complete the establishment of the ADR program.

The company is embarking on this initiative as part of its strategic review to enable many of its US-based investors to more easily invest directly in its China-based Mobile Value Added Services ("MVAS"), Internet services and online game company, China.com Inc. Once the ADR program is in effect, it would enable CDC to provide greater flexibility with respect to its shareholdings in China.com Inc. such as distributing a stock dividend of all or a part of its China.com Inc. shares to CDC shareholders.

As of September 29, 2005, China.com Inc. had a market capitalization of US$375.5 million on the Hong Kong Growth Enterprise Market with an average daily volume of approximately 38 million shares for the past 10 trading days. This is based on an exchange rate of US$1 to HK$7.76 and total outstanding shares of approximately 4.16 billion. As of the end of Q2 2005, the company projected that its 2005 aggregate revenues will be US$240 million to US$260 million of which approximately 15%-20% was anticipated to be derived from China.com Inc with the balance from its CDC Software unit. While the company is subjected to various Non-GAAP adjustments most of which relates to its purchase of subsidiaries, the China.com Inc. and CDC Software units have been operating profitable for 2005 and China.com Inc. is on its 21st consecutive quarter of profitability. The Non-GAAP cash and cash equivalents net of total debt as at Q2 2005 was approximately US$221 million of which approximately one half was within China.com Inc.

"The introduction of a China.com Inc. ADR program would provide greater flexibility to our investors by creating a US dollar investment vehicle that we feel would help to put China.com Inc. on a level footing with many of its US-listed peer companies. This is a key step in our strategic review as we believe an ADR program would measurably improve the ability of our China.com Inc. subsidiary to access a greater range of global investors and further broaden its shareholder base as well as provide greater value to CDC shareholders," said Steven Chan, Acting CEO of CDC Corporation.

      About CDC Corporation

CDC Corporation (CHINA) is focused on enterprise software, business services, mobile applications and internet media. As part of its strategic review the company has reorganized into two primary operating business units, CDC Software and China.com Inc. The company has approximately 2,000 employees with operations in 17 countries.

CDC Subsidiary Signs Agreement to Acquire Leading Casual Online Games Platform in China
      10/5/2005 10:55:47 AM

HONG KONG, Oct 05, 2005 /Xinhua-PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- CDC Corporation (CHINA) today announced it signed an agreement to acquire http://www.gametea.com ("Gametea"), a leading online casual games platform in China through its 81%-owned subsidiary, China.com Inc. Gametea currently offers its 10 million registered users over 80 online board and poker games. It has an active user base of over 1 million and its game portal reaches a concurrent user base of close to 90,000 during recent peak periods.

      My Portfolio | Edit Alerts

According to the terms of the transaction which is subject to a final agreement with customary closing conditions, China.com will acquire all assets, intellectual properties, and operating contracts in Gametea and the consideration will be payable in multiple installments in accordance with pre-determined performance milestones.

"We are pleased to be acquiring yet another successful online game company in China. The Gametea platform is an excellent compliment to Yulgang, our MMORPG game which has reached 215,000 peak concurrent users. With this acquisition, our portfolio will have an enlarged registered user base of close to 20 million with meaningful cross marketing and platform sharing benefits that we can quickly tap into to accelerate growth from our user base," said Rudy Chan, CEO of China.com Inc.

Gametea has users from 28 cities across China and is particularly strong in the Zhejiang province in China. Some of its poker and chess games are ranked in the top tier of Chinese online games in its respective genre. Gametea charges customers through virtual game merchandise and virtual currency management services. Upon the completion of this transaction, Gametea intends to launch an expanded set of products and services, including VIP membership subscription plans and a broader scope of avatar sales, leveraging the successful online virtual merchandizing experience proven in Yulgang.

"We believe that Gametea will add an exciting multi-dimensional element to our portfolio of online games as its casual games portfolio is highly synergistic with both our existing MMORPG game portfolio and also many of our mobile value added services products. We feel that it will propel us to become one of the mainstream game providers in China. We believe this will further enhance the value of our China.com Inc. holdings which will be better realized once China.com Inc. is able to successfully complete its ADR program and trade in the US as many of its peer companies are now doing," said Steven Chan, Acting CEO of CDC Corporation.

CDC Subsidiary Forms Online Games Subsidiary, CDC Games
`Yulgang` Achieves 9.8 Million Registered Accounts and 246,000 highest peak Concurrent Users During China`s ``Golden Week`` holiday period
      10/11/2005 8:44:54 AM

HONG KONG, Oct 11, 2005 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- CDC Corporation (CHINA) today announced that its 81%-owned subsidiary, China.com Inc. has formed a wholly-owned subsidiary, CDC Games Limited ("CDC Games"), to hold all of its assets and strategic alliances related to online games which the company continues to negotiate and build. The key current assets include its stake in massively multiplayer online role-playing game ("MMORPG") provider Beijing 17game Network Technology Co. Ltd. (``17game``) and, upon completion, its ownership in http://www.gametea.com (``Gametea``) a leading online casual games platform.

In addition to establishing CDC Games, during the seven-day national ``Golden Week`` holiday period in China which just ended, 17game`s recently- launched MMORPG Yulgang achieved a record high of 246,000 concurrent users during peak usage periods and 9.8 million registered accounts -- an increase of 600,000 accounts during the holiday period. In order to accommodate the rapid growth in concurrent users of Yulgang, 17game has added four groups of servers to its existing network bringing the total server groups to 31 across five key regions in China. This type of growth is subject to many factors, many of which are beyond the company`s control, and the company cannot predict that this growth will continue or be sustained.

Rudy Chan, CEO of China.com said, ``We are delighted to see the continued successes of Yulgang with a double digit increase in peak concurrent users since our last update less than two weeks ago. With the newly formed CDC Games, we will further invest resources in marketing, distribution, technology and new game development, to ensure sustained growth of our online game business. We expect to identify and add more quality games to the CDC Games platform.``

Once the Gametea transaction is completed, the combined platform of CDC Games will have a registered user base of close to 21 million with meaningful cross marketing and platform sharing benefits covering both MMORPG and casual games.

      cash and cash equivalents
-- After the third quarter, President and COO, Albert Lam was nominated
to be an executive director of China.com Inc., pending regulatory
      approval.

      HONG KONG, Nov. 11 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- China.com Inc. ("China.com";
Hong Kong Stock Code: 8006), a Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS), Internet
services and online game provider operating principally in China, and an 81%-
owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA), today announced its
financial results under HK GAAP for the third quarterly period ended 30th
September 2005. China.com continued profitability on turnover of HK$108
million (under gross presentation), up 24% as compared to Q2 2005.
During the quarter, China.com`s latest online game, "Yulgang", opened its
online store which received excellent market reception. Operated by the
company`s subsidiary, Beijing 17game Network Technology Co. Ltd. ("17game"),
Yulgang has been recognized as one of the most popular new Massive Multi-
players Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) in China. As of today, its peak
concurrent users and registered users exceeded 250,000 and 10 million
      respectively.
Yulgang initiated a distinctive revenue model for MMORPGs in China by
generating revenue through the sales of value-added virtual merchandise and
services through its online game store, rather than charging game users for
time spent. This distinctive billing model has proven to be successful as
demonstrated by the continuous growth in the number of concurrent players.
In a strategic move towards capturing the tremendous opportunities in
      China`s online gaming sector, China.com has established a wholly-owned
subsidiary, CDC Games Limited, to hold all of its key assets and investments
related to the online game business. With the anticipated robust growth of
the market, it is expected that online games will continue to be a strong
focus of the company and more resources will be dedicated to this fast-growing
      sector.
The company`s MVAS business continued to attain healthy growth in Q3 2005
with a 15% increase in total revenue over Q2 this year. Sequential quarterly
revenue increases in Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS), Interactive Voice
Response (IVR) and Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) were 80%, 61% and 27%
respectively. This growth momentum was driven by the company`s renewed focus
on providing products and services and enhanced marketing support in more
      provinces.
During the quarter, the company adopted a focused strategy on cross
selling of its MVAS products and services to selected customer groups across
various platforms. The strategy has resulted in increase in rankings of some
key WAP products on CMCC WAP product listings. As part of its ongoing
initiatives, the company has made tremendous progress in collaborating with
handset vendors to embed its services and products into mobile phones and
expanding its geographical reach at the provincial level. For example, the
company has partnered with China Mobile, China Unicom, CNC and CTC to provide
Personal Handyphone System (PHS), Color Ring Back Tone (CRBT), WAP and IVR
services in over 20 provinces with local connectivity.
China.com`s portal, http://www.china.com , continued to make improvements on
products and services in order to meet increasing customer demand. In the
third quarter, a new Bulletin Board System (BBS) was launched and the portal`s
military channel has become the biggest BBS channel in China. A BLOG system
was also established to further facilitate interactivity among China.com`s
      community.
"I am pleased to report another record quarter for China.com. Despite the
challenging and highly competitive business environment, growth of our core
business segments including MVAS and online games remained robust, reflecting
the inherent strength of China.com`s business model," said Rudy Chan, CEO,
      China.com Inc.
In recognition of his leading the strong performance of the company, the

CDC Corporation`s Mobile Services and Online Gaming Unit, China.com Inc., Announces Appointment of Executive Director
Friday November 18, 11:09 am ET

HONG KONG, and BEIJING, and ATLANTA, Nov. 18 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- China.com Inc. ("China.com"; Hong Kong Stock Code: 8006), a Mobile Value Added Services (MVAS), Internet services and online game provider operating principally in China, and an 81%-owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (Nasdaq: CHINA), today announced the nomination of Albert Lam as an executive director to the Board, subject to regulatory approval.

Albert Lam currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of China.com. Albert came to China.com after having been an original architect of its MVAS business at Newpalm (China) Information Technology Co. Ltd., a mobile value-added services provider in China and a wholly-owned subsidiary of China.com since 2001.

Albert has over 24 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industries in Greater China and North America, of which nearly 20 years were spent in China. Prior to joining China.com, Albert headed the MVAS business in Asia and served in various General Manager positions during his seven years at Motorola. In addition, he spent 13 years in various management roles with Nortel Networks and General Electric.

Given his strong ties with industry participants including the telecom operators in China, Albert was instrumental in navigating China.com through relatively challenging times particularly with various obstacles within the MVAS business. Today, China.com`s results are the strongest that they have ever been both in terms of financial results as well as a diversified revenue base. The online games initiative continues to grow, the portal continues to hit key operational matrices and the MVAS business has undergone three sequential quarters of double-digit percentage revenue growth and has progressively diversified away from SMS revenues to a point where revenues from advanced mobile products such as MMS or WAP represent 60% of total MVAS revenue.

Commenting on the nomination, Mr. Steven Chan, Acting CEO of CDC Corporation, said, "I am delighted to have an executive with Albert`s impressive credentials join the China.com Board. Albert brings with him many years of China-based operating experience and a track record of delivering outstanding performance in a highly competitive global industry, which will be of great value."

"After nearly two years with the company, I am pleased to be nominated as Executive Director at such a pivotal moment. China.com has proved itself to be a dynamic player in the fast-moving MVAS and online gaming marketplace in China and has established such a strong competitive position. I look forward to working closer with our board and team to grow and lead the company as it achieves its goals in 2005 and beyond," said Albert Lam, President and Chief Operating Officer, China.com.

CDC Games Increases Its Shareholding in 17game to 100%

Mar 23, 2006 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- First Step of Building Critical Mass for CDC Games to be an Independent
      Standalone Company

HONG KONG and BEIJING and ATLANTA, March 23 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CDC Games Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of China.com Inc, a business unit of CDC Corporation (CHINACHINA
announced that it has increased its shareholding of Beijing 17game Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("17game" from 48% to 100%.
CDC Games will purchase a total of 52% of 17game, in the form of 27% cash and 73% restricted shares of China.com for a total purchase price of US$18 million. The share consideration will vest over the next two years. The founders of 17game will remain with the company and will continue to work with China.com\'s management team to expand the online game business and drive synergy between it and China.com\'s other operating units.
17game is a leading massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) provider with a robust track record in launching and distributing successful online games for the China market. Its latest online game, Yulgang, was one of the fastest-growing MMORPGs in China in 2005. The game was noted by 17173.com as the second most popular MMORPG among over 50 new online games launched in China in 2005 and also named by China e-Game Industry Association as the most innovative game of 2005.
Yulgang pioneered the "free-to-play and pay-for-virtual merchandise" business model for MMORPGs in China and set the ever increasing trend for the move to this business model by other leading online games companies in China. Since its commercial launch in July 2005, Yulgang\'s subscribers have increased to approximately 15 million as at the end of Q4 2005. Peak concurrent users surpassed 260,000 in Q4 2005, representing an increase of 38.9% from Q3 2005, with average concurrent users per day of 162,000 in Q4 2005, up 33.9% from 121,000 in Q3 2005. The average number of virtual merchandises sold per day was 28,000 in Q4 FY2005, up 65% from 17,000 in Q3 FY2005. Further, there are 36 server groups throughout China in Q4 FY2005 supporting the company\'s online games, up 33% from 27 server groups in Q3 FY2005.
The success of Yulgang continues to grow in February 2006, with net revenues of approximately RMB14.6 million (US$1.8 million), representing an increase of 43% over the previous month. The average amount of virtual merchandises sold per day was approximately RMB516,000 (US$63,700), up 54% over the previous month. As of early March 2006, Yulgang recorded over 300,000 peak concurrent users representing a 15.4% increase from 260,000 in Q4 2005 and 19 million registered users up 26.7% from 15 million as at the end of Q4 2005. Yulgang has enjoyed an operating profit of approximately 25% for the past 2 quarters.
The increase of China.com\'s ownership in 17game to 100% is a natural extension of a successful partnership the two companies have forged to deliver the best online gaming experience to their customers. The acquisition is expected to facilitate China.com\'s integration of its online game business with the existing portal and MVAS units, and solidify China.com\'s position as one of the leading MMORPG operators in China.
"We are extremely pleased with the promising results the 17game team has delivered with the strong performance of Yulgang over the past months. We are delighted to bring 17game fully under the China.com family through our increased ownership. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to the rapidly growing online gaming market in China and is just another step in our aggressive growth strategy to build CDC Games into the market leader for online and mobile games in China," said Albert Lam, CEO of China.com Inc.
17game will be operated under CDC Games Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China.com which was created in 2005 as part of China.com\'s strategic review, to hold all of its assets and strategic alliances related to online and mobile games. In the next year, CDC Games plans to widen its market coverage through penetration into China\'s secondary cities, build a broader portfolio of games and selectively acquire synergistic and earnings accretive gaming companies in China. CDC Games will aim for double-digit growth by both leveraging Yulgang\'s growing base of 19 million registered users and its extensive national coverage and support infrastructure of 36 server groups for organic growth while employing its strong cash position to make targeted acquisitions. CDC Games are currently in discussions with several MMORPG and casual game companies in China. Mr. Lam states "We believe that this acquisition represents the first step of building critical mass for CDC Games and will enhance its competitive position.

We hope to spin off CDC Games as an independent standalone company focused on the fast growing online games market in China to unlock value for our shareholders."

"During the quarter, we also achieved our goal of transforming our mobile services and applications business unit from a SMS focused service provider to one with a balanced portfolio of SMS and advanced mobile products."
      Online Games
In Q1 2006, Yulgang continued to achieve new milestones and sustain strong growth momentum. Peak concurrent users for Yulgang surpassed 330,000, representing a quarter-on-quarter increase of 27%. Registered users exceeded 22 million in Q1 2006, up 47% quarter-on-quarter. Server groups throughout China supporting Yulgang and the company's other online games numbered 43, up 19% quarter-on-quarter. Compared to Q4 2005, the online game revenue increased by 59% to nearly HK$40 million (Approx. US$ 5.1 million) in Q1 2006.
During the quarter, China.com increased its shareholding in 17game from 48% to 100%. 17game is a leading massive multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) provider with a proven track record in launching and distributing successful online games for the China market, including Yulgang.
      Portal
In Q1 2006, the China.com portal clearly listed four strategic focus areas: (1) build China.com's Chinese website as a portal for Chinese professionals; (2) build China.com's English channel as the world's gateway to China; (3) leverage the value of China.com's URL and establish services in City.China.com, Country.China.com and Brand.China.com; (4) prepare for launch of new products and services to existing enterprise clients, such as Software as a Service (SaaS).
In achieving the first two goals, the China.com portal reformatted its homepage, launched a Lifestyle channel and revamped its English channel in Q1 2006. These initiatives have been well-received by the China.com users and its unique Luxury sub-channel has already generated over 800,000 daily page views.
As for the development of Country.China.com services, the China.com portal has established strategic partnership with ProAdvertising, an Italian online advertisement company, by jointly launching Italy.China.com. The new website provides Chinese Internet users with the latest Italian content in fashion, music, tourism, football and gourmet cooking, and serves as a gateway for Italian and other European businesses to enter the China market.
To further build entertainment content suited for well-educated Chinese professionals, the China.com portal formed a production team comprising former CCTV editors, writers and producers. The newly and uniquely produced "The Real Show" will be launched in May, which is expected to attract a new group of online audience, reinforce China.com's brand equity, and further position the China.com portal as a major content source for the imminent mobile 3G era.
      Mobile Value Added Services
In Q1 2006, total mobile services and applications revenues was HK$69 million (Approx. US$ 8.8 million), representing 53% of the company's total revenue. Wireless application protocol (WAP) revenue grew by 36% on a quarter-on-quarter basis, driven by the company's aggressive marketing and promotional activities.
During the quarter, China.com achieved a more balanced revenue mix from its mobile services and applications. Revenue contribution of short messaging services (SMS), WAP, interactive voice response (IVR) and multimedia messaging services (MMS) represented 36%, 30%, 23% and 11% respectively, comparing to 56%, 20%, 17% and 7% respectively in Q1 2005. In addition, the company signed a number of exclusive contracts with music companies to offer some of the hottest music albums of pop singers to its users.
"I am very pleased with the strong profit and organic revenue growth we have achieved in our mobile and online gaming unit in the first quarter," said Peter Yip, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of CDC Corporation. "I am particularly delighted with the positioning of the portal, www.china.com, as the world's gateway into China as well as serving as a platform for launching SaaS for our CDC Software business in China in July."
Mr. Yip continued, "We look to derive additional synergies between our two core business units while evaluating options that aggressively unlock shareholder value which could include a carve-out or spin-off, positioning each business as a "pure play" in their respective industries."
      Notes to the Editor:

      China.com profits from online games
      www.chinaview.cn 2006-05-10 10:51:50

BEIJING, May 10 -- China.com will spend 30 per cent of its 2006 revenue to market its online games.

The CEO of the Beijing-based provider of mobile value-added and Internet services and online games, Albert Lam, said yesterday: "Our online game business has not reached its peak and we expect it to keep growing rapidly in the next few years."

China.com's online game revenue increased 59 per cent in the first quarter of 2006, to reach HK$40 million, boosted mainly by the successful launch and operation of "Yulgang".

The second most popular multiplayer online role-playing game (MORPG) on the mainland in 2005, "Yulgang" had more than 330,000 peak concurrent and 22 million registered users in the first quarter of 2006, that is, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 27 per cent and 47 per cent, respectively.

China.com General Manager Chen Xiaowei said he wanted the company's online games turnover to exceed 31 per cent of the total in the second quarter of 2006, after it jumped 10 per cent over 2005 fourth quarter to reach 31 per cent in the last quarter.

The company will strengthen its portal business by globalizing its website and building it into one that especially suits well-educated professionals.

Chen said China.com had revamped its English channel to better facilitate information exchange and sharing between people living on and outside the mainland.

To serve the highly-educated professionals better, the company will start a new online programme called "The Real Show" this month, Chen said.

"It is a custom-made programme for them and our investment in it is estimated to reach HK$7.8 million, the biggest ever this year in the company's portal section," Chen added.

Recording gains in all its business sections, China.com saw its total revenue reach HK$130 million in the first quarter of 2006, up 72 per cent year-on-year and 11 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

And its net profit climbed to HK$8.5 million, up 51 per cent over the first quarter of 2005.

Driven by its strong performance in the first quarter, China.com's share price increased by 1.96 per cent to close at HK$0.52 yesterday.

China.com says plans to spin off 17game unit
      Fri Jul 21, 2006 2:10am ET

HONG KONG, July 21 (Reuters) - China.com Inc. (8006.HK: Quote, Profile, Research), majority owned by software company CDC Corp. (CHINA.O: Quote, Profile, Research), plans to spin off gaming subsidiary 17game but has made no decision as to where or when, a company official said on Friday, playing down media reports it will list the unit abroad next year.

Chinese media reported on Friday that China.com would list 17game in the United Kingdom next February.

"CDC, our parent company, has mentioned we have plans to spin off the game unit. But no final decision has been made," a China.com official said, declining to elaborate.

The reason for choosing the United Kingdom was because rivals Shanda Interactive Entertainment Ltd. (SNDA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) and The9 Ltd. (NCTY.O: Quote, Profile, Research) were both listed on the Nasdaq, limiting the amount of funds that 17game could raise there, the reports said.

17game would license one game each from South Korea, Japan and a western country, they said without elaborating.

The company currently operates online role-playing game Yulgang, which was developed by a South Korean company.

The game was operated under a free-to-play model and had hit 330,000 peak concurrent players, it added.

Shares in China.com fell 1.1 percent on Friday morning to HK$0.445, lagging a 0.27 percent drop on the benchmark Hang Seng Index <.HSI>.

China's online game market has grown rapidly over the last few years and was worth an estimated $600 million last year. It is expected to grow to over $750 million this year as its audience swells, according to some analyst estimates.

But the nature of the market -- where a single hit or dud can make or break a company -- has also meant that firms trying to build themselves into a diversified media company can fall as quickly as they rise.

Shanda, China's number-two online game operator, saw its profit plunge 95 percent in the first quarter as the popularity of its flagship game The Legend of Mir II dimmed.

Dr. Raymond Ch'ien, CDC Corporation's Chairman and Chairman of the Board for China.com said, "I am pleased with the substantial progress made by the company's online gaming and mobile services unit during the second quarter of 2006. We achieved new milestones across all key businesses within the unit, especially CDC Games, whose outstanding performance consistently exceeded our expectations. We appreciate that challenges lie ahead with the recent and imminent regulatory changes in the MVAS and online games sectors and we are committed to work even harder to offset any short term effects on performance and to continue our success in the vast and growing markets of China."
      CDC Games
CDC Games became the 100% owner of 17game, the operator of Yulgang, at the end of Q1 2006 and began full consolidation of 17game's revenue in the second quarter. The online games business continued to deliver robust results with games revenues increasing by 52% to HK$61 million (US$ 7.8 million) in Q2 2006.
CDC Games is one of the market leaders of online and mobile games in China as demonstrated by its strong growth momentum and financial performance. Leveraging the momentum and enormous customer base generated by Yulgang, the Company plans to build a broader portfolio of games and to selectively acquire synergistic and earnings accretive gaming companies in China. Following the success of Yulgang, CDC Games has licensed two additional online games with a "free-to-play" business model. Negotiations for another game are ongoing which the Company hopes to complete by the end of Q3 2006. The Company plans to grow organically by taking advantage of its extensive national coverage, dynamic user profile and strong registered user base while making selected acquisitions using its strong cash position. The Company will also continue to evaluate various potential means to unlock shareholders' value which may include a potential spin-off or carve-out of CDC Games.
      China.com Portal
In Q2, the Company continues to strengthen China.com portal's position as one of the preferred websites for Chinese professionals by enhancing content in the lifestyle, career, entertainment, technology and health channels. In May, the portal launched China's first online comic news show, "The Straight Show," which has been very popular among Chinese Internet users. This program is also positioned to be a platform for interactive online video and delivering mobile video content.
In addition, the portal entered into a number of strategic partnerships with leading global companies such as Google and Amazon to further enhance its search capabilities, content and services during the quarter. These partnerships have also assisted the portal in monetizing its fast growing page views.
During the quarter, the portal continued to explore opportunities for synergy and cooperation with its sister companies in the CDC family. This included partnering with CDC Software to offer Software as a Service ("SaaS") products through its robust nationwide network and leveraging its broad advertising sales force to sell advertisements for CDC Games' portal.
"While we are encouraged by the continuing success of our existing operations, we are excited at the prospects for tremendous growth for our new products and services such as "The Straight Show" and SaaS," said Dr. Chen Xiaowei, Chief Financial Officer of China.com.

      CDC: Investitionen in Onlinespiele

PEKING - Der chinesische Online- und Softwareanbieter CDC Corp. (Nasdaq: CHINA, WKN: A0EAKF) investiert weiter in die eigene Onlinesparte China.com. Ein neues Finanzierungsprogramm soll frische Impulse bringen.

Insgesamt sollen rund 20 Mio.

(kat/rem)

      China.com Posts Q3 2006 Returns
      November 13, 2006
China.com, a 77%-owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation (CHINA), announced its financial results for the three months ended 30 September, 2006.

During the period, the company says it recorded total revenue of HK$132 million, representing an increase of 22% over the same period last year, while gross profit was HK$82 million, up 33% year-on-year. Profit attributable to shareholders was HK$17.5 million, up 251% from Q3 2005. Balance sheet position remained strong with net cash and interest-bearing securities at over HK$949 million as at 30 September 2006.

The company's mobile value-added services (MVAS) business activity was initially negatively impacted at the beginning of the quarter due to new consumer-friedly regulations put in place in China. Its July revenue from mobile
services and applications experienced a 39% month-on-month decline and a 29% decrease compared to the same period last year.

However, the company had already begun a recovery by the middle of the quarter and had shown
continuing growth on a monthly basis since the end of July. In August, China.com says it successfully reversed the downtrend of mobile services and applications revenue, with a 2% month-on-month increase. In September,
it continued the growth trend with a 21% increase in revenue compared to August.

''With more than 500 million mobile phone subscribers, China's mobile market remains the largest in the world and will continue to be the largest in years to come. We have strong confidence in the long-term future of the sector. MVAS has been our core business unit and will continue to provide us with growth opportunities. The Group will employ its strong cash position to selectively acquire synergistic and earnings accretive companies in the industry,'' said Dr. Xiaowei Chen, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of China.com.

In Q3 2006, the online game revenue increased by 10% to HK$66.8 million as compared to Q2 2006. Yulgang, the company's current online game in China, maintained a stable performance in Q3 2006. After 3 consecutive quarters of robust growth, the peak concurrent users and the average concurrent users of Yulgang remained healthy at 331,000 and 218,000 respectively, a slight drop of 5% and 7% respectively from Q2 2006.

During the quarter, the China.com portal has also been appointed by Jilin Government as the exclusive web sponsor of the 2007 Asian Winter Games. This is the first time that Asian Winter Games athletes will all register online, using China.com's web platform. The company also signed a deal with BDL Media to use the company's content from its popular Xianzai.com and ChinaPulse.com websites.

Asian Winter Games Choose China.com For Exclusive Online Partner
      December 12, 2006
CDC Corporation's (CHINA) subsidiary China.com has been selected as the exclusive online partner of the 6th Asian Winter Games.

"The involvement of China.com in the Asian Winter Games will definitely enlarge the audience and add an interactive feature to the event," said Xiaowei Chen, Ph.D., executive director and CFO of China.com Inc. "This is the first time in the history of the Asian Winter Games where people can read reports, view the games and join in online discussions, all at the same time."

According to the agreement between the two parties, China.com has the rights for online reporting, web video broadcasting and advertising at the Winter Games' sites. China.com will also help build the official and commercial websites for the 6th Asian Winter Games. The games will be held in Changchun in January 2007, so this leaves very little time to make preparations, promote the games to netizens, and secure advertising contracts.

On October 29, 2006, China.com launched an electric torch relay game on the official website of the 6th Asian Winter Games which the company says has been popularly received by Internet users both in China and abroad.

"We are very pleased to establish this partnership with China.com," said An Li, deputy mayor of Changchun, the host city of the 6th Asian Winter Games. "In addition to our traditional media outlets such as newspapers, magazines and television, we are very interested in this opportunity to expand our reach through this new media outlet of online sports. Although this is the first time we will join hands with China.com, we have full confidence in their technological know-how, as well as their demonstrated experience from their prior services provided for the 10th National Games," An Li said.

China.com announced today that it has acquired a five percent interest in Beijing Menlo Network Science Limited, the owner and operator of Menllo.com, a leading Web 2.0 online community in China. Under the terms of the agreement, China.com will provide Menllo.com with strategic market coverage for one year in exchange for the five percent interest. China.com will have the right to appoint a director to the Board of Menllo.com and will have the option to increase its holdings in Menllo.com in the future.
With a large and fast growing user base across China, Menllo.com is a platform that empowers individuals to share music, videos, journals, photos, whiteboards and more with their friends, and find people with common interests. The company also recently announced an agreement with a leading South Korean mobile Internet content provider for exclusive distribution of highly popular South Korean mobile games, videos, music and fashion advertisements, in China.
"Creating communities, by empowering individuals, is truly revolutionary for today's online world in China," said Donglei Fang, acting COO of China.com Inc. "For CDC Mobile, we believe that creating a mobile web2.0 through 3G will create a significant growth opportunity for us. Through this investment, we can further diversify our user base by attracting creative, user-generated content from China's huge talent pool, and subsequently increase online traffic and mobile downloads. More importantly, by embracing mobile web 2.0 and making strategic inroads in the vast 3G market, we will be able to further consolidate CDC Mobile's leadership position and enable future growth."

Leveraging its unique and valuable URL address and the impressive demographics of its core user base, China.com has quickly become one of the preferred channels for advertisers to promote their products and services. Last year, various channels of the China.com portal received several leading industry awards, including "Outstanding Brand Advertising Award" from Internet Society of China, and the "Outstanding Web Channel of 2006" award from State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China. In addition, the email system of the China.com portal was named "Best Brand in Commercial Value" by China Computer News. The Portal's increasing brand equity, combined with proactive sales efforts, helped the Portal to acquire more advertising contracts and impressive clients such as SONY, Mazda, Chevrolet and Peugeot. As a result of these successes, China.com's portal revenue in the first quarter of 2007 increased 52 percent from the same period in 2006.
"We are pleased to broaden our strategic partnerships with Google and China Mobile," said Xiaowei Chen, Ph.D., president of China.com Inc. "The portal business is where we started, and we continue to seek opportunities to leverage our great brand to create additional value for our shareholders. Our goal is to achieve a robust rate of growth in advertising that will equal or exceed industry projections for overall growth of 30 to 35 percent in online advertising this year in China."

BEIJING, Jun 21, 2007 (Xinhua via COMTEX News Network) -- Following its partnership with Sina Corp. (Nasdaq: SINA) on June 11, Goole will forge similar cooperation with more portable websites, including TOM Online (Nasdaq: TOMO, HK: 8282) and China.com, an informed source was quoted by tech.163.com as saying.

The source added that cooperation consensus between Google and China.com has been reached and will be formally announced in mid-July.

All these movements made by Google is targeted against Baidu.com ( Nasdaq: BIDU), the largest search engine and a major competitor with Google in China, said the source.

Google has long been suffocated on its localization process in China. But a series of movements made by Google this month is changing its China outlook.

On June 14, Li Kaifu, vice president of Google and president of Google Greater China disclosed that the company is transferring servers to China, reported tech.163.com.

On June 19, the company's application for ICP (Internet content provider) license was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Information Industry.

      From GEM filings:

Percentage ownership of subsidiary China.com has increased from 76.73% to 77.80% as of July 11 close of register for payment of the HK$5.34 special dividend.
      http://gem.ednews.hk/listedco/listconews...
      http://gem.ednews.hk/DI/DIFrame.asp?src=...

Increase in % ownership resulted from the decrease in number of issued shares from 109,528,481(after 40:1 consolidation) to 108,032,481, with CDC holding 84,045,700. Of the 1,496,000 share reduction, 1,004,850 was co repurchases, remaining 491,150 was result of 40:1 consolidation process.

      7/28 special dividend computation:
      108,032,481 X HK$5.34 = HK$576,893,448
      CDC 77.8% = HK$448,804,038/7.8 = US$57.539m
CDC Games made its $60m note payment to 8006 announced 6/30: http://gem.ednews.hk/listedco/listconews...

It appears net cash effect for CDC and 8006 Q2 reporting is US$16.421m special dividend payment to 8006 minority shareholders.

      Was meinst Du genau?

      2008/12/18 11:29

(Infocast News) China.com Inc. (08006) has proposed a capital reduction pursuant to which the share capital of the company will be reduced by $3.99 per existing share by cancelling an equivalent amount of paid-up capital per existing share so that the par value of each new share in issue will be $0.01. Immediately upon the capital reduction taking effect, the authorised share capital of the company shall be $2.5 million comprising 250 million new shares.

The capital reduction will result in a surplus of $427.207 million being transferred into a distributable reserve account. The company says that the company does not have any immediate plan to distribute the additional surplus resulting from the capital reduction, but the capital reduction will give the company more flexibility in distributing its assets to its shareholders in future.

      Hallo zusammen.

Heute in Hongkong wieder +13%.
