International Consulting Leader Creates North American eBusiness Unit
New Venture by Plaut AG Brings eBusiness Solutions to Middle-Market Firms
WALTHAM, Mass., June 26, 2000 -- Plaut AG, the international management and technology consulting firm, today announced the creation of EdgeWing, a new eBusiness consulting, implementation and hosting services unit, to address the growing need among middle-market firms for integrated eBusiness solutions.
Headquartered in Waltham, EdgeWing provides a full range of eBusiness services, from strategic planning and design to implementation and hosting. These services are available for business-to-business, business-to-consumer and business-to-employee applications. In addition, EdgeWing enables clients to connect their eBusiness applications into an ERP backbone and other information infrastructures.
"EdgeWing is built from the ground up to meet a vital and growing need in the new economy in North America," said Paul Shaughnessy, newly appointed president of EdgeWing. "A growing number of middle market companies -- firms between $200 million and $2 billion -- need rapid, cost-effective ways to compete in the eBusiness environment. EdgeWing gives these companies a single source for integrating their business across the digital landscape."
By providing full integration with back-end legacy technology and systems such as SAP, EdgeWing enables its clients to operate their business more efficiently by linking information gathered through customers and channels with data such as inventory, human resource, financial, and process control information. A representative list of the clients whose rich ecommerce sites and back-end systems are created, built and maintained by EdgeWing includes Cannondale, Cavalier Homes, DirectBanking.com, Ultrak and Flowers Bakeries.
"Other consulting firms focus on point solutions in this marketplace," said Gary DiOrio, CEO of Plaut Consulting. "To compete today, companies must integrate eBusiness solutions throughout the enterprise, and to do that cost-effectively is a challenge to mid-level companies. The breadth and experience of EdgeWing is ideal for clients looking to establish long-term relationships with their service providers."
The new division is being formed out of Plaut Consulting`s existing IT Services and Application Service Provider (ASP) arm, known as Syntacom IT Services, Inc., as well as other eBusiness expertise within the Plaut companies. Plaut`s recent acquisition of Lara Consulting, which develops and manages Web solutions that integrate global business processes on the Internet, will also roll into the new eBusiness venture. In addition, EdgeWing will continue the strategic partnerships that were formed by the predecessor company, Syntacom. These partners include technology leaders such as Sun Microsystems, SAP, SunGard Data Systems and AT&T.
"By building on our existing, proven resources, as well as alliances with `best-of-breed` partners, we are able to offer comprehensive solutions right out of the gate," said Shaughnessy. "This let`s us move with the speed of a startup and the sure-footedness of a company with 30 client references."
Shaugnessy added that EdgeWing will continue to expand its capabilities by establishing further alliances, hiring key personnel and, as warranted, acquiring other companies.

plaut in ihren musterdepot aufnehmen

Carlo

Dein Vorschlag gefällt mir gut O.K.!! Ich eröffne sofort ein Plaut thread wo ich euch news rüber bringe!
