NEW ZONE OF MINERALISATION AT LAVERTON JOINT VENTURE WITH RESULTS UP
TO 24g/t GOLD IN A MINERALISED CORRIDOR AT LEAST 1,400 METRES LONG

The Manager of the Laverton Joint Venture, Metex Resources NL, has
reported that a new gold prospect has been delineated 17km south-west
of Laverton and 5km north of the Wallaby discovery, within the
Metex-Delta-Exodus Joint Venture, where the respective interests are
37.5% Metex, 37.5% Delta and 25% Exodus. The prospect lies north-west
of the Omo prospect, where previous drilling has encountered up to 14
metres at 3.6g/t gold.

Initial anomalous results from reconnaissance drilling were reported
in the December quarter. Since then, a total of 6,415 metres of
aircore, RAB and RC drilling to between 40 and 80 metres depth have
been completed. A new zone of east - west striking mineralisation has
been delineated on 200 and 400 metre spaced sections, with anomalous
supergene mineralisation encountered over a total strike length of
1,400 metres. Depth of cover is generally 20 to 40 metres. No
previous exploration has been undertaken in this area.

Results to date include:

RFAC417 3 metres from 49 metres depth at 3.7g/t gold
RFAC408 5 metres from 49 metres depth at 2.6g/t gold
RFAC422 2 metres from 62 metres depth at 1.3g/t gold
RFAC423 4 metres from 60 metres depth at 1.7g/t gold
RFAC424 6 metres from 48 metres depth at 0.5g/t gold
RFAC443 2 metres from 39 metres depth at 0.7g/t gold
RFAC447 1 metre from 43 metres depth at 23.7g/t gold

The drilling has defined two en echelon zones in what appears to be a
deeply weathered dolerite. No mineralised intercepts in fresh bedrock
have yet been returned. The drilling to date indicates an extensive
and continuous zone of anomalous geochemistry in a prospective
structural setting. The presence of mineralisation in dolerite is a
new style of mineralisation to the Laverton area. Follow up RC
drilling to test for the bedrock source of this anomalous gold is due
to commence shortly. This drilling will test for the presence of
economic mineralisation in bedrock below the current drilling.
