Danke.

AUS DEM RB-BOARD:
John Whyte (TBU Sr. VP E-Commerce) says:
In response to an e-mail I sent TBU John Whyte`s reply:
Q. Re: website, is it too plain and simple especially for the US non-conservative shoppers?
A. The reason the TBU site is designed this way is because of our target audience. Travelbyus focus - "leisure travel" (meaning not focused on the business traveller), the target group is female between 28 and 43 years - why?
1. Women in this age group are the vacation or leisure shoppers on the internet.
2. Though a 4 legged decision the woman is the initial source
3. number one complaint from females about travel sites is that they are too confusing and too cluttered.
4. TBU goal is to create a more visually appealing site. Note it will get busier as more content and features are published but we will maintain more white space than has become the norm. The front page is simply a funnel for the various channels.
5. Men purchase business travel over the internet at a rate of almost 3 to 1 over women. But men rarely purchase leisure travel on the net. Men explore but to date are not the buyers for leisure travel. (the TBU niche)
Q. How is the TBU site structured or set up for optimization?
A. TBU needed to differentiate itself and not be another "me too" site. We are also a multi-channel site whereas most others are airline-hotel-car reservation sites initially and have moved into leisure or tour package provider sites. Today`s trend is destination content.
1. "Call button" per page - Over 85% of Internet travel shoppers will abandon the online transaction and opt for a traditional process of booking travel. This is why we put a call button on each page during the reservation process.
2. Research indicates that the call button will reduce lost customers significantly. By entrusting the customer through several of these processes then they may complete an online transaction knowing that a service (human) person is in the wings to assist.
3. We are currently adding thousands of destination components weekly including over 19000 links since our Canadian launch. {USA launch to be in March}.
4. Finally, we have done our homework, reasearched websites and e-commerce and travel including those controlling over a billion e-tail transaction dollars and millions of monthly sessions and visitors. The feedback has been very positive. We will optimize the download, remove the security filter page, and reduce the profiling cookie sets for our US launch comming soon.
My Comment:
Last press release mentioned gross $8 billion Canadian net $2 plus million. This is reported as "trailing revenue" meaning revenue ongoing during the time that TBU is not only acquiring companies and changing the infrastructure but revenue that is "happening" now without having the most powerful travel website in "operation mode` in March. Some said that TBU missed the March break for not having the website functional. Not so as each acquisition for TBU is in the "business as usual mode" and thus income generating awaiting the website opening and additional (add-on E-business). Plus also note in the news release 2700 `agencies` will soon use the website. This is the TBU group who will be booking through the website using the cumperized booking system they are now associated with and any others that may come along which is not hype but realistic business for a travel website with realistic potential for more than $8 billion Canadian.
Conclusion: The Travelbyus stock price will go up and down as the market goes up and down. We are not on the Nasdaq yet so Americans have to look and venture to the TSE to buy, (possibly not likely). When this opens in the USA there will be the inquisitive that say wow and then how much and then $5 bucks Canadian or $2.70 vs. competition up in the $40 US. SO maybe (just maybe) TBU has an opportunity for growth over the next short term.
You do your DD, make your decision and regardless thanks for reading all this and please venture back to check on how we are doing.
Thanks John Whyte for your time and patience with me and others probing for information.

travelbyus.com ltd. Announces Letter of Intent to Acquire Bell Travel Systems
WHITE ROCK, British Columbia, Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- travelbyus.com ltd. (TSE:TBU; Frankfurt Stock Exchange:TVB) is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement to purchase Bell Travel Systems ("BTS Travel"), a privately held travel company, based in Scotts Valley, California. BTS Travel currently has 1,200 travel agency members. The agreed purchase price is US$3.8 million. Half of the purchase price will be in cash and the other half in common shares of travelbyus.com based on C$4.00 per share.
Bill Kerby, CEO of travelbyus.com, said, "Once again, we are acquiring a profitable company, but, more importantly, one which brings us another step closer to having a nationwide `clicks and mortar` presence in the U.S.".
Mr. Kerby continued, "travelbyus.com`s competitive edge over other Internet travel companies such as Expedia, Preview Travel and Travelocity is that it is the only 3C company -- `Click, Call, or Come In`. When the acquisition of Bell Travel Systems is completed, travelbyus.com will have 2,700 travel agencies across America. This distribution system will include Bell Travel Systems, Cruise Shoppes of America, International Tours and Galaxsea Cruise. These agencies combined handle over C$8 billion in travel transactions and have a trailing twelve month unaudited earning (EBIT) in excess of C$3 million. This is an integral part of the `Come In` piece of our business model. travelbyus.com will be integrating its agencies into the Company`s website beginning in April, pending the completion of the sites content."
Jack Bell, founder of Bell Travel Systems, said, "Our members are very pleased with this announcement because they are now part of one of the best travel Web sites and the unique 1-800-i-TRAVEL marketing program." Mr. Bell continued, "In today`s travel industry, size is important. With travelbyus.com, we are now one of the dominant players. I look forward to a long relationship with travelbyus.com as this means more profit for my members and I am happy about this."

Hallo tbu-Fans!
