LONDON, February 19 (New Ratings) — Analysts at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein upgrade ABB Limited (ABBN) from “reduce” to “buy.” The target price has been raised from CHF5.80 to CHF10.00.
Shares of ABB, a global power and automation technologies provider, are currently trading at CHF7.80.
According to Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein’s research note published this morning, ABB reported its 4Q03 results ahead of expectations. The analysts mention that the company experienced robust organic orders growth momentum for its Automation and Power Technologies business segments in 4Q03. ABB has expressed its optimism regarding the improved near-term orders growth outlook for these segments, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein says.
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein anticipates robust margins expansions in ABB’s Automation Technologies and Power Technologies divisions over the next couple of years. The analysts have raised their 2004 and 2005 operating margins estimates for the company. ABB benefited considerably from improved orders growth momentum in its Asian and European end markets last year, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein says. The analysts expect the company’s ongoing cost reduction program to further boost its near-term earnings growth prospects.
The EPS estimates for 2004 and 2005 are CHF0.28 and CHF0.55, respectively. The P/E estimates for 2004 and 2005 are 27.3x and 13.5x, respectively.
