According to Interactive Gaming News, there are currently 82 jurisdictions worldwide providing some form of regulation for various types of Internet gaming. No one knows for sure, but estimates range from 1,800 to 2,500 Internet gaming sites. The recent upsurge in the popularity of poker and the increase in the number of sites that are exclusively devoted to poker make estimates of gross revenue even more speculative than usual. In 2004, Christiansen Capital Advisors estimated that global Internet gambling revenue, including poker sites, totaled $8.3 billion for 2004. Christiansen projects that revenue will grow to $10.3 billion in 2005 and $12.5 billion in 2006. Poker sites alone could have revenue estimated at $2 billion. None of these Internet gaming sites are located in the United States, so not one cent of tax revenue is being generated for any governmental agency here.

I would have liked to hear more, however the information provided was interesting none the less. Exciting things are happening with this company.

VANCOUVER, April 21 /CNW/ - Las Vegas From Home.com Entertainment Inc. (the "Company") or ("LVFH") is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led by Wellington West Capital Markets Inc. and CIBC World Markets Inc. and including GMP Securities Ltd. and Sprott Securities Inc. (collectively the "Underwriters") for a "bought-deal" underwritten private placement of Subscription Receipts ("Subscription Receipts") for gross proceeds of $8,000,200 (the "Offering").
Pursuant to the Offering, LVFH will issue 12,308,000 Subscription Receipts at a price of $.65 per Subscription Receipt. The Underwriters will also have the option to purchase up to an additional 3,077,000 Subscription Receipts on identical terms from the Company.

"We are pleased to enter into this Offering, which will allow LVFH to increase its sales and marketing initiatives and expand its overall growth strategy", commented Jake Kalpakian, President and CEO of LVFH.

Each Subscription Receipt is exercisable into one unit (a "Unit") of the Corporation. Each Unit is comprised of one common share ("Common Share") of the Corporation and one-half of one common share purchase warrant (each whole common share purchase warrant, a "Warrant"). Each Warrant will entitle the holder to purchase one Common Share at an exercise price of $1.00 for 24 months following the closing of the Offering.

The proceeds of the Offering, exclusive of the proceeds from the sale of 2,497,100 Subscription Receipts, will be held in escrow pending the receipt of the certificate of articles of amendment of the Corporation providing for an increase in the authorized capital of the Corporation to a number of Common Shares sufficient to permit the issuance of all of the underlying Common Shares.

The proceeds from the Offering will be used to fund the Company`s continued growth, to expand sales and marketing initiatives, for potential acquisitions by the Corporation, and for general working capital purposes.

Completion of the private placement is subject to receipt of all required regulatory and other approvals, including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. It is anticipated that the private placement will close on or about May 12, 2005.

Internet poker worldwide generated some $1 billion in revenue last year and is expected to top $2.4 billion this year -- which is about what all of the table games on the Las Vegas Strip generated in gambling revenue last year, according to recent statistics compiled by gambling analysts Christiansen Capital Advisors. The Las Vegas Strip, by contrast, generated $5.3 billion in gambling revenue last year.

The top few poker sites, with little overhead costs and unlimited table capacity, are making spectacular profit that has already outpaced the world`s most profitable casinos.

Experts estimate that the largest poker site, PartyPoker.com, will likely generate some $500 million in operating cash flow this year. That compares with about $352 million for Bellagio last year and about $300 million for the Venetian -- the Strip`s most profitable casinos.

Based on market share estimates for the largest poker sites, PokerStars.com generates about $125 million in operating cash flow compared with $75 million for PokerRoom.com and $50 million each for ParadisePoker.com, UltimateBet.com and PacificPoker.com.

VANCOUVER, April 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Las Vegas From Home.com Entertainment Inc. (the "Company") or ("LVFH") today announced results from operations for its fourth quarter of Fiscal 2004 ended December 31, 2004, and first quarter of Fiscal 2005 ended March 31, 2005.
Q1 Fiscal 2005 Financial Results

First quarter revenues were $2,084,056 as compared with revenues of $276,676 in the same period a year ago, growth of 653% year-over-year and 94% versus the fourth quarter of Fiscal 2004. Revenues grew as a result of increased usage of the Company`s Gaming Software. The Company had net income for the quarter of $364,329 as compared to a net loss in the first quarter of Fiscal 2004 of $464,934.

"We`re very pleased with the growth in our business and our client base in the first quarter of Fiscal 2005. This demonstrates our growing momentum compared with Fiscal 2004", stated Jake Kalpakian, President and CEO of LVFH.

Q4 Fiscal 2004 Financial Results

Fourth quarter revenues were $1,073,463 compared with revenues of $268,887 in the same period a year ago, growth of 299% year over year. Revenues grew as a result of increased usage of the Company`s Gaming Software. Net loss for the quarter was $3,461,006 as compared to a net gain of $178,640 in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2003. However, these results were affected by the following one-time expense items: Net revenue sharing buyback of $1,048,021; settlement of lawsuit of $240,400; and also the accounting treatment of stock options granted in 2004 of $2,323,004. Had the Company not recognized the granting of stock options as compensation expense, then the Company`s operating results would have shown as an operating profit of $146,491.

Breakaway Poker - this is another LVFH powered online poker room. It is a very "clean" software, which I really do like.
I realise that there are quite a few people that feel that it is very "simple" - but this is precisely the reason I like it so much. There is no hanging about - you go directly to what you came here for, which is playing cards - whether it be holdem, Omaha or the tournaments. They have tons of tournaments running all the time and offer you really cool qualifying tournaments (Satellites) for the World Poker Tour (WPT).

The thing that impresses me the most about this place, and the software, is the speed of the games. I played here at various occasions and not once did I get the feeling that it might hang or slow up - which makes playing here all the more fun. Also, if you do want a small break from the poker games, they have other games available for you to pass the time, including BlackJack, Chinese Poker and Pan.
