Trintech`s Forecast Cut By Davy
15/01/02: Davy Stockbrokers has reduced its forecasts for secure payments group Trintech, saying the short-term growth outlook for the company has worsened

Davy analyst Paul Phelan said the forecast was reduced due to the continuing difficult trading environment for vendors of financial software and the disappointing results from the company to end October 2001.

Davy now expects revenues of $76.5m in 2003, a drop of over 25%, with projections for the fourth quarter of this year also cut.

Phelan pointed to a disappointing sequential decline in revenue in the third quarter 2001, with year on year revenue growth slowing to 24% from over 70% in the previous four quarters.

He now expects only a marginal improvement in industry conditions during the second half of the year.

"We also believe that our new forecasts are realistic, but conservative, and the risks are on the upside for both revenues and earnings.

"Better than expected results, the achievement of cash breakeven or an improvement in industry conditions could provide upgrade catalysts," said Phelan. (15/01/02)
