Ridgeland, MS, APR 09, 2003 (EventX/Knobias.com via COMTEX) -- According to a
PRE 14A filed today, the Annual Meeting of Stockholders of ViroLogic
Incorporated (NasdaqNM: VLGC) will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 1:00
PM ET at 345 Oyster Point Boulevard, South San Francisco, California 94080, for
the following purposes:

(1) To approve a series of alternative amendments to the Company`s Amended and
Restated Certificate of Incorporation, as amended, to effect, at the discretion
of the Board of Directors, a reverse stock split of the Common Stock whereby
each outstanding 3, 5 or 7 shares would be combined, converted and changed into
one share of Common Stock, with the effectiveness of one of such amendments and
the abandonment of the other amendments, or the abandonment of all amendments as
permitted under Section 242(c) of the Delaware General Corporation Law, to be
determined by the Board of Directors prior to the 2004 Annual Meeting of
Stockholders of the Company.

(2) To elect one Class III director to hold office until the 2006 Annual Meeting
of Stockholders.

(3) To ratify the selection by the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors of
Ernst & Young LLP as independent auditors of the Company for its fiscal year
ending December 31, 2003.

(4) To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting or
any adjournment or postponement thereof.
