Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine Readers Choose Datakey AXIS As Product They Love
Minneapolis, January 14, 2004-Datakey, Inc. (OTCBB: DKEY; www.datakey.com), a leading developer of information security software products that simplify and secure access to corporate information systems, announced that readers of Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine have named Datakey Axis as the best product for “Enforcing Strong Network Authentication,” according to results published in the December 2003 “Products You Love” issue.
“Lots of magazines do Reader’s Choice or Editor’s Choice awards,” said Senior Editor Keith Ward. “What made ours different is that we listed products based on job tasks, not on some esoteric category. These are the products that help readers do their jobs every day, and that’s why I believe they’re especially valuable.”
Voting in 34 categories took place over a four-day period in November among subscribers of the monthly independent publication. More than 900 readers, representing 110,000 subscribers, voted. “We worked hard to make sure the voting was accurate,” Ward said. “We kept the voting open only a short time, and required information from voters that we could verify, to make sure there was no ‘ballot-box’ stuffing.”
“MCP Magazine readers are hands-on, so when they say they like a product, it is based on real-world experience,” said Reviews Editor Doug Barney. “Those products that won the voting, such as Datakey Axis, are known for solving problems, saving IT money, and offering competitive advantage. Every winner is a worthy addition to any Microsoft professional’s toolbox.”
The final results can be viewed at http://mcpmag.com/Features/article.asp?EditorialsID=382.
What is Datakey Axis?
Datakey Axis is a smart card-based Single-Sign-On (SSO) solution that addresses the current password management problem while providing a foundation for introducing stronger authentication methods. With an innovative client-only architecture and patent pending Rapid Deploy™ technology, organizations can quickly and easily implement the solution without undertaking a major infrastructure change or requiring end user training. Datakey Axis essentially serves as an ATM card for usernames and passwords – a user presents a password or PIN to the smart card and the Axis software takes over all login and password management (eg. change) functions without requiring user action – a true single sign on experience.
About Datakey Inc.
Datakey Inc. (www.datakey.com) focuses on delivering complete smart card-based solutions that simplify access throughout the enterprise. Our solutions significantly increase the convenience and security for users logging into company resources by consolidating all digital credentials - including passwords, digital certificates, VPN credentials and biometric data - onto one smart card and automating access through a single sign-on.
