(NASDAQ: DSLN), a leading nationwide provider of broadband communications services to businesses, is one of three companies cited for having found its "sweet spot" in the burgeoning VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) marketplace as described in a recently published white paper by a telecommunications research firm.
The analysis, conducted by Connecticut Research, Inc., found that VoIP is transitioning from being viewed only as a new technology to experiencing growth through "market demand pull" -- based on the early success of service providers and the fact that traditional carriers, transporters and equipment makers are now moving to introduce VoIP products and services. DSL.net, Vonage and Cbeyond were profiled in the white paper.
According to Dr. Richard Tomlinson, president of Connecticut Research, Inc., "We focused on specific service provider markets that have such potential that we designate them as `sweet spots` for VoIP. These are commercially significant market opportunities. ... While successful execution is not guaranteed for any of these companies and none have attained profitability, their stories illustrate some of the tantalizing potential in VoIP."
The study outlined DSL.net`s facilities-based approach and its addressable market of 2.6 million small and medium-sized businesses. Describing the DSL.net business approach to VoIP, Connecticut Research said "the combination of softswitch-based VoIP delivered over a network engineered for high-quality data transport defines a new business model for DSL service providers" in the bundled voice and data sector.
"We`re very pleased to be recognized as one of the few telecommunications providers that have built an enviable next-generation VoIP model," said Keith Markley, president and chief operating officer of DSL.net. "We believe DSL.net is on the leading edge of the evolution to VoIP and we are well-positioned in major business-intensive markets to take advantage of the growing demand."
In contrast to other best-effort VoIP services, the DSL.net voice services are provided on a facilities-based, fully controlled, QoS-enabled network. The NETgain One broadband packages are provided over business-class DSL and T-1 platforms with speeds up to 1.5 Mbps. Each offering includes unlimited local, unlimited regional and unlimited domestic long-distance calling. Multiple bundles varying by the number of phone lines and broadband speeds are available to meet the needs of a variety of business types and sizes.
"We firmly believe that our integrated voice and data service, which utilizes VoIP (voice over Internet protocol), is one of the most comprehensive and reliable VoIP offerings in the industry," said Keith Markley, president and chief operating officer of DSL.net. Charttechnisch sieht es derzeit mehr als gut aus. Sollten gute Zahlen anrollen kann es fast nur noch nach oben gehen. Fair bewertet ist die Aktie derzeit bei 400 Mio, was einen Kursziel von 2 Dollar bedeuten würde. Alles andere ist Fantasie. Was möglich ist sieht man bei Akamai, die sind zwar Weltmarktführer aber auch auf einem ähnlichen Wachstumspfad wie dsl.net. Letztes Jahr Oktober bei 0,6 und ca. 26 Mio QUmsatz mittlerweile wieder bei 45 Mio QUmsatz und einer Kapitalisierung von ca. 2 Mrd. (Bin dummerweise bei 2,60 wieder ausgestiegen)

Leider etwas unklar derzeit. Die Umsätze waren gestern für meinen Geschmack eine Spur zu hoch. Ich halte nach wie vor eine Marktkapitalisierung von 300 Mio für gerechtfertigt. Dafür müssten die Umsätze aber deutlich über 20 Mio liegen. Mit geschätzten 200 Mio ausstehenden Aktien (TSO und Deutsche Bank) ergibt sich ein Kursziel von 1,50 Dollar. Positiv sehe ich derzeit, dass man mit Kosteneinsparungen im Rahmen der Übernahmen von 6 Mio Dollar rechnet.

Reger in "Anführungsstricheln" ist wohl das richtige Wort. DSL.net ist eine Aktie die man eigentlich nur in Amiland kaufen sollte. Gehts nach unten kommst man hier einfach nicht mehr raus.

Heute war der Instianteil bei 10%, meine einzigste Frage ist... Haben sie nun gekauft oder verkauft????? Dem Kurs nach zu urteilen verkauft. Ich glaube nicht das Kleinanleger vor den Zahlen bewußt ihre Position abbauen. Das machen nur die Instis, die dafür auch hohe Volumen benötigen. Und weil sie es wie immer etwas schlauer als wir anstellen bricht der Kurs auch nicht ein. Hoffentlich haben sie sich diesmal verrechnet und dsl.net glänzt morgen mit einer guten Prognose und vorgezogenem Break Even.
