Einstieg bei 2,65 $. Der Abschlag war zu hoch.Falls bald ein neuer Nutzer gefunden wird,geht es wieder steil nach oben.Auch ohne Nachrichten sollte es erstmal Richtung 3 $ gehen.Zahlenmässig sind die ja auch auf einen guten Weg.

Das Pharma-Unternehmen Advancis Pharmaceutical Corp. verbuchte im dritten Quartal 2004 einen Umsatz in Höhe von 3,1 Mio. Dollar, nachdem er ein Jahr zuvor nur 312.500 Dollar betrug.

Zudem konnte der Nettoverlust von 29,1 Mio. Dollar oder 20,91 Dollar je Aktie im Vorjahresquartal auf nun 9,2 Mio. Dollar bzw. 41 Cents pro Aktie reduziert werden. Analysten hatten mit einem EPS-Verlust von 47 Cents und Umsätzen von 4,94 Mio. Dollar gerechnet.

Weiterhin teilte das Unternehmen mit, dass die GlaxoSmithKline plc am 15. Oktober den Lizenzvertrag zur Nutzung des Dosierungssystems PULSYS gekündigt hat. Advancis Pharmaceutical ist aber überzeugt, bald neue Nutzer für das System finden zu können und wartet optimistisch auf die Resultate einer Phase-III-Studie, die für das erste Halbjahr 2005 erwartet werden.

Gestern brachen die Aktien an der NASDAQ um 62,52 Prozent ein gingen mit 2,74 Dollar aus dem Handel.

Researchers Report on Increased Bactericidal Effect of Advancis Pharmaceutical`s Pulsatile Dosing

GERMANTOWN, Md., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Advancis Pharmaceutical Corporation (Nasdaq: AVNC - News), a pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing novel anti-infective products, today announced that researchers presented findings regarding the company`s pulsatile dosing of antimicrobials during the 44th Annual Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) held Oct. 30 through Nov. 2, 2004 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Two poster presentations at ICAAC offered data on pulsatile dosing in various antibiotic-pathogen systems in microbiological models. Both studies indicate that pulsatile dosing, as conceived by Advancis, may represent a unique and more potent method for dosing antimicrobials.

Poster A-1169, titled "In Vitro Evaluation of Pulsatile Delivery of Clarithromycin Alone and in Combination with Amoxicillin against Streptococcus pneumoniae with Reduced Susceptibility to These Agents," presented by Dr. K. D. Leuthner, C. Cheung, and Dr. M. J. Rybak of Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich., found that pulsatile dosing of clarithromycin and amoxicillin alone or in combination demonstrated superior bactericidal effect against a resistant strain of Streptococcus pneumoniae compared to traditional dosing. The authors suggested pulse dosing of antimicrobials, alone and in combination, warrants further investigation.

Poster F-1542, titled "Preliminary Investigations of Proteome, Metabolome and Transcriptome following Amoxicillin Treatments of Streptococcus pneumoniae," presented by Dr. J. D. Isbister of George Mason University in Manassas, Va., found that Streptococcus pneumonia bacteria were eradicated rapidly with three amoxicillin pulses at the level of the MIC and that pulsatile dosing altered the expression of proteins and small molecules in the bacteria, offering potential insight into the mechanism of action of pulsatile dosing.
