Hallo

Ich war vor ca.2 jahren schonmal in Biodelivery Science investiert hab dann leider nach enttäuschenden Kursverlauf verkauft.
Jetzt aber kommt BDSI in die heiße phase ,Emezine steht vor der Zulassung(1Q 2006) und Bema Fentanyl startet vor jahresende noch die Phase3.
Bei einer Marktkap.von 19,5mio$ und bei 7,27mio aktien im umlauf besteht hier explosionsgefahr.
Ich werde nächste Woche auf jedenfall einsteigen.

BDSI Announces Acceptance of Emezine(R) NDA for Review By FDA

MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 20, 2005--BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (NASDAQ:BDSI - News; NASDAQ:BDSIW - News) announced today that it has received written notification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that its new drug application (NDA) for Emezine® has been accepted for review. BDSI previously announced that it filed such NDA in late April 2005, and this written notification indicates that FDA review of the product is now underway. Under FDA regulations, the FDA has up to 10 months from the date of NDA submission to review and render a decision on the application as to whether it is approvable or not.

Emezine® is a formulation of prochlorperazine, a currently approved agent for the treatment of nausea and vomiting. Emezine® is conveniently administered by placing the dissolving tablet between the upper lip and gum, thereby delivering the drug across the membrane of the mouth. To the best of BDSI`s knowledge, Emezine®, if approved by the FDA, would be the first and only transmucosal medication for nausea and vomiting in the United States. BDSI believes that Emezine® will give physicians a patient-friendly alternative to injections or suppositories for the treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with a wide range of conditions such as surgery, chemotherapy and migraine attacks. BDSI has the exclusive U.S. rights to Emezine® under a license agreement with Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare (UK) Limited.

The FDA`s review of Emezine® is being undertaken through the FDA`s 505(b)(2) approval process. Under this process, a company is able to seek FDA approval of a new dosage form, dosage regimen or new indication of a pharmaceutical that has previously been approved by the FDA. This regulation enables a company to partially rely on the findings of third parties which the FDA has published on approved pharmaceuticals, including clinical and non-clinical testing, thereby reducing, though not eliminating, the need to engage in these costly and time consuming activities.

BioDelivery Sciences Stock Jumps on $7 Million Financing Agreement for Late-Stage Bema Trial


MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- BioDelivery Sciences International Inc. shares jumped Monday after the specialty biopharmaceutical company said it signed a $7 million licensing and development agreement with Clinical Development Capital LLC, a partnership that funds clinical trials.

BioDelivery Sciences shot up 85 cents, or 34 percent, to $3.32 in earlier Nasdaq trading on the Nasdaq, and recently was up 43 cents, or 17.4 percent, at $2.90.

The company plans to use the funds to help finance late-stage clinical trials of its Bema disc, a dime-sized polymer disc that delivers a quick dose of a given drug when placed on the inside of the cheek.

The Phase III trial, which is expected to begin before year-end, will test the disc`s efficacy in delivering fentanyl, a painkiller usually given to patients with chronic cancer pain.

Bema Fentanyl is being targeted for use as a treatment for "breakthrough" cancer pain, or episodes of severe pain that "break through" the medication used to control persistent pain associated with the disease.

The company is looking to enter the U.S. market currently dominated by Cephalon Inc.`s Actiq, which had sales of about $345 million in 2004 and is expected to exceed sales of $400 million in 2005.

Under the agreement, BioDelivery will pay Clinical Development Capital a milestone payment and royalty fees on sales of Bema Fentanyl.

Transportsystem Bioral

Das von BioDelivery Sciences unter dem Markennamen „Bioral “ entwickelte System beruht auf so genannten „Nanocochleates “. Sie sind die Transportkapsel, mit der man die unterschiedlichsten Wirkstoffe und Substanzen gezielt in den Körper transportieren kann. Nanocochleates sind
schneckenartig aufgebaute Zylinder, die ähnlich wie ein gerades Croissant aussehen. Sie bestehen aus Lipidschichten, in denen der zu transportierende Stoff eingerollt ist. Die Bezeichnung „Lipide“ dient als Sammelbegriff für die Bestandteile von Fetten und Ölen. Lipide stellen eine uneinheitliche Sammlung von Komponenten dar, die eigentlich nur eine Gemeinsamkeit haben: Sie sind in organischen Lösungsmitteln gut, dafür aber in Wasser kaum oder gar nicht löslich.

Nanocochleates verfügen beim Transport von Arzneimitteln in den Körper über zahlreiche Vorteile, die ihnen unterschiedlichste Anwendungsgebiete im gesamten Gesundheitsbereich eröffnen. So sind Nanocochleates beispielsweise hoch stabil und werden aus einfachen, biologischen Substanzen hergestellt. Nanocochleates können den gewünschten Zellen im Körper gezielt ihren Inhalt, sei es ein Arzneimittel oder ein Impfstoff, liefern. Nanocochleates sind besonders resistent gegenüber aggressiven Umweltbedingungen, wie sie beispielsweise aufgrund von Enzymen im Körper auftreten können. Die einzigartige Struktur der Nanocochleates liefert einen guten Schutz vor Beschädigungen der eingeschlossenen Moleküle. Da die gesamte Nanocochleate-Struktur aus mehreren festen Schichten besteht, bleiben die im inneren
eingeschlossenen Bestandteile selbst dann intakt, wenn die äußeren Schichten im Körper schwierigen Umgebungsbedingungen ausgesetzt sind. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaft eignen sich Nanocochleates beispielsweise hervorragend dafür, Wirkstoffe oral einzunehmen. Selbst die aggressiven Bedingungen im Verdauungstrakt können dann dem Wirkstoff nichts mehr anhaben.

Aussichtsreiche Anwendungsgebiete

Die Nano-Drug-Delivery-Technik von BioDelivery Sciences empfiehlt sich für zahlreiche Anwendungsgebiete. Biodelivery Sciences sei im Forschungsbereich Drug Delivery tätig und besitze eine Marktkapitalisierung von 24 Mio. USD. Es gab aber auch keine Insiderverkäufe.
BDSI ist ein spekulatives investment aber welche Biotech aktie ist das nicht.
Ich gehe dieses risiko ein ,weil ich davon überzeugt bin das es BDSI schafft und anscheinend denken einige investoren auch so sonst würden die kein Geld reinpumpen.

Glücklicherweise hatte ich mich für ein anderes investment entschieden sonst würde ich jetzt wieder auf minus sitzen,aber seit freitag bin ich dabei.
Die aussichten sind sogar viel besser geworden als zu Thread eröffnung,ich konnte einfach nicht widerstehen zu diesen kursen einzusteigen.

BDSI Prepares For Phase III with BEMA(TM) Fentanyl Following Positive Results of Comparative Pharmacokinetic Study

Study Demonstrates BEMA(TM) Fentanyl Has Enhanced Absorption Compared to Market Leader Actiq(R)


MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 2005-- BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (NASDAQ: BDSI - News, BDSIW - News), a specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced the results of a crossover study comparing the pharmacokinetics between equal strengths of BDSI`s oral adhesive disc (known as BEMA(TM)) formulation of the narcotic fentanyl and Actiq®, a lozenge formulation of fentanyl which is the current market leader in fast dissolving fentanyl products in treating breakthrough cancer pain.

The study was conducted in 12 subjects who used both BEMA(TM) Fentanyl and Actiq®. The results showed that the BEMA(TM) Fentanyl formulation showed greater bioavailability (absorption), higher maximum plasma concentrations (Cmax) and faster concentrations of fentanyl in the plasma (t-first and t-max) compared to Actiq®.

Actiq®, produced by Cephalon Inc. (NASDAQ:CEPH - News), had reported 2004 sales of $345 million and, according to Cephalon`s public statements, projected 2005 sales between $390 to $420 million. BDSI has previously disclosed its belief that BEMA(TM) Fentanyl could potentially achieve annual peak sales of approximately $250 million for the company.

Dr. Andrew Finn, Executive Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Development for BDSI, stated "Simply put, the results of this study demonstrate that fentanyl can potentially be delivered more effectively and easily from BDSI`s BEMA(TM) delivery system compared to Actiq®. Besides allowing greater absorption of fentanyl, this study demonstrated that the BEMA(TM) disc was easier to use for the subjects in the study as it only required seconds to apply while the Actiq® lozenge required active sucking for up to 30 minutes."

BDSI reported in July 2005 that it had signed a $7 million dollar licensing and development agreement with Princeton, New Jersey based Clinical Development Capital, LLC (CDC) under which CDC, will provide up to $7 million dollars in funding for BDSI`s Phase III program for BEMA(TM) Fentanyl provided certain conditions are met. BDSI has previously reported that it plans to initiate its Phase III BEMA(TM) Fentanyl program for the treatment of "breakthrough" cancer pain prior to the end of 2005.

Dr. Francois Nader, Chief Medical Officer at Clinical Development Capital, stated that "The results of this study continue to indicate a profile of BEMA(TM) Fentanyl that will make it an effective and valuable therapy for the treatment of breakthrough cancer pain and demonstrates BDSI`s ability to execute their development plan."
