Also ich will die Aktie nicht pushen, sehe ich als Langfristinvestment. Schätze den Wert nicht als Zockerpapier ein daher habe ich mich auch stark und langfristig aufgestellt. Gestern wurden gerade mal 100000 Aktien in Toronto gehandelt. Und so wie ich das als Laie verstehe haben sich die MM die AKtien just for fun gegenseitig zugeschoben.

Nach einem 10-bagger ausserhalb der Biotech suchte ich nun lange einen Wert in der Biotech. Es gibt sehr viele interessante Werte Morphosys und viele andere, allerdings haben die schon eine von den Anlegern erkannte Marktbewertung(keinesfalls teuer,aber...).
Das know how soweit man das Laie verstehen kann finde ich bei Transition Therapeutics bemerkenswert. Da kam vor paar Monaten auch eine erste Zahlung von stemcells von knapp 1 Million CAD. Der große Partner Novo-Nordisk kann mit seiner Marktcap von 14 Mrd. Euro meiner Meinung sehr schnell nach Bedarf weiter unterstützen.

clinical trials will be evaluating efficacy, safety and tolerability of a 28-
day course of daily E1-I.N.T.™ treatments with a six month follow-up.
During the quarter, patient enrolment also commenced for a Phase I/II
clinical trial of Transition`s second Interferon Enhancing Therapy, HCV-I.E.T.
in hepatitis C patients. HCV-I.E.T. is a combination of interferon-alpha,
ribavirin and Transition`s interferon enhancer EMZ702. This trial will
evaluate the ability of HCV-I.E.T. to produce a positive therapeutic response
in patients who have failed current leading hepatitis C therapies. Interim
data from this trial is expected in the second quarter of fiscal 2006.
Enrolment in the Phase II clinical trial for our first Interferon Enhancing
Therapy product, MS-I.E.T., which is a combination of interferon- beta and
Transition`s interferon enhancer EMZ701, is proceeding in patients with
relapsing/remitting MS. The reporting of clinical data from this trial is
expected in the first half of fiscal 2007.
Subsequent to the quarter end, we jointly announced with Ellipsis
Neurotherapeutics Inc. the commencement of clinical development for lead
Alzheimer`s disease product AZD-103. The AZD-103 compound is a promising
disease-modifying therapeutic candidate for the treatment of Alzheimer`s
disease. This unique class of therapeutics provides significant advantages
over the current products on the market which only treat disease symptoms. An
IND submission for a Phase I clinical trial is expected in the second quarter
of fiscal 2006. In parallel, additional preclinical studies will commence to
support a Phase II trial expected to begin in the first quarter of fiscal
2007.

ne ich weis schon was du meinst
aber du hast ein paar Punkte meiner Meinung nach nicht beachtet
1. der Inerferonmarkt ist ca. 7 Mrd. USD Dollar schwer
wir sprechen also nicht von Potentialen auf die sich viele Biotech-Unternehmen gern berufen
2. die Interferone sind nicht irgendein "Zauberperle" sondern eine Immunantwort
3. meiner Meinung nach ist es in den nächsten 10 Jahren nicht möglich analoge Proteine zu schaffen die keine Toxizität aufweisen, eine Immunantwort ist nun mal eine Waffe des Körpers. Also müssen spez. Proteine in kleineren Dosen signifikanter wirken. Und in diesem Bereich ist für mich Transition Therapeutics ein entscheidender player. Und die Nebenwirkungen werden wahrscheinlich nicht höher auch nach der 3. klinischen Phase nicht.
4. Transition Therapeutics hat über die letzten Jahre Investments (sprich Ankauf von geistigem Eigentum und ähnliches) in Höhe von ca. 250 Millionen CAD getätigt wo ist dies im aktuellen Aktienkurs
5. Diabetes
natürlich haben sie den großen pott weggeben müssen und an wen den weltweiten Marktführer in der Insulinherstellung, eine clevere Absicherung von Novo Nordisk.
Und 2004 wurde dies getätigt wo die shares der Biotechbranche am Boden lagen.
Und wen der Glucose-Toleranztest ein signifikant besseres Ergebnis anzeigt, erwarte ich speziell bei der Islet Neogenesis Therapy keine signifikante Toxität.
Bis wir vielleicht mal die x MRD. Marktcap erreichen werden wahrscheinlich noch einige Jahre vergehen. Aber 300-400 Mill. CAD Marktkap. sehe ich schon auf Jahressicht.

1. der Inerferonmarkt ist ca. 7 Mrd. USD Dollar schwer
wir sprechen also nicht von Potentialen auf die sich viele Biotech-Unternehmen gern berufen
2. die Interferone sind nicht irgendein "Zauberperle" sondern eine Immunantwort
3. meiner Meinung nach ist es in den nächsten 10 Jahren nicht möglich analoge Proteine zu schaffen die keine Toxizität aufweisen, eine Immunantwort ist nun mal eine Waffe des Körpers. Also müssen spez. Proteine in kleineren Dosen signifikanter wirken. Und in diesem Bereich ist für mich Transition Therapeutics ein entscheidender player. Und die Nebenwirkungen werden wahrscheinlich nicht höher auch nach der 3. klinischen Phase nicht.
4. Transition Therapeutics hat über die letzten Jahre Investments (sprich Ankauf von geistigem Eigentum und ähnliches) in Höhe von ca. 250 Millionen CAD getätigt wo ist dies im aktuellen Aktienkurs
5. Diabetes
natürlich haben sie den großen pott weggeben müssen und an wen den weltweiten Marktführer in der Insulinherstellung, eine clevere Absicherung von Novo Nordisk.
Und 2004 wurde dies getätigt wo die shares der Biotechbranche am Boden lagen.
Und wen der Glucose-Toleranztest ein signifikant besseres Ergebnis anzeigt, erwarte ich speziell bei der Islet Neogenesis Therapy keine signifikante Toxität.
Bis wir vielleicht mal die x MRD. Marktcap erreichen werden wahrscheinlich noch einige Jahre vergehen. Aber 300-400 Mill. CAD Marktkap. sehe ich schon auf Jahressicht.

TORONTO, Feb. 23 /CNW/ - Transition Therapeutics Inc. ("Transition")(TSX:
TTH) announced that a presentation of positive preclinical data with
Alzheimer`s disease lead product AZD-103 was made at the Keystone Symposia
on Alzheimer`s Disease held in Breckenridge, Colorado. A series of
preclinical studies in a widely accepted animal model of Alzheimer`s disease
showed that AZD-103 can prevent and reduce disease effects including the
formation of amyloid beta fibrils, impaired cognitive function and
accelerated mortality. These outcomes occurred regardless of whether AZD-103
was administered before the onset of disease or during the symptomatic phase
of disease indicating AZD-103`s potential as a preventative and therapeutic
agent for Alzheimer`s disease.
"These pioneering studies from one of the leading Alzheimer`s research
centers in the world contribute to a growing body of data supporting a broad
role for AZD-103 as an Alzheimer`s disease-modifying therapy," said Dr. Tony
Cruz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Transition.
The presentation was made by Dr. JoAnne McLaurin from the University of
Toronto and entitled "Cyclohexanehexol-based inhibitors of A-beta-
aggregation prevent and reverse Alzheimer-like features in a transgenic
model of Alzheimer Disease". The studies were performed using the widely
accepted TgCRND8 transgenic mouse model of Alzheimer`s disease. These
transgenic mice carry a mutated gene that causes amyloid accumulation and
Alzheimer`s disease in humans. The transgenic mice develop Alzheimer-like
disease characteristics including spatial learning deficits, rising levels
of amyloid beta and an increase in plaques in the brain and accelerated
mortality. When these transgenic mice were treated with AZD-103 they showed
reduced accumulation of amyloid in the brain, and fewer plaques, compared to
untreated controls. Learning deficits were eliminated, restoring learning
capacity to normal levels. Life expectancy was also improved in these mice.
Beneficial effects were observed when AZD-103 treatment commenced before
symptoms appeared, and once the disease was well-established. Based on these
encouraging data, AZD-103 shows promise of being a leading drug candidate
for the treatment of Alzheimer`s disease.

Oligomers and Rescues Hippocampal Long-Term Potentiation".
The studies were performed in the laboratory of Dr. Dennis Selkoe at Brigham and
Women`s Hospital of the Harvard University School of Medicine in Boston,
Massachusetts.
This standard assay of hippocampal long-term potentiation (LTP) has been
extensively described in the literature, and is widely accepted as a measure of
synaptic efficacy and plasticity in the brain. The cellular and molecular basis
of LTP employs closely similar mechanisms to those necessary for learning and
memory in humans. In these studies, AZD-103 was shown to be highly effective at
neutralizing the short term effects of amyloid beta oligomers on synaptic
function in the hippocampal slices from mice. Based on these very encouraging
findings, AZD-103 continues to demonstrate the efficacy and safety profile

Transition Therapeutics to Acquire Outstanding Shares of Alzheimer`s Disease Focused Ellipsis Neurotherapeutics Inc.

TORONTO, Feb. 27 /CNW/ - Transition Therapeutics Inc. ("Transition")(TSX: TTH),
announced the signing of a Share Purchase Agreement ("Purchase Agreement") with
the directors of Ellipsis Neurotherapeutics Inc. ("ENI") pursuant to which
Transition will offer to acquire all the remaining outstanding shares of ENI.
The key asset in this transaction is ENI`s lead molecule AZD-103, a disease
modifying agent with the potential to both reduce disease progression and
improve symptoms such as cognitive function. During the last 15 months,
Transition has led the rapid advancement of AZD-103 toward clinical development
through its service agreement with ENI. The acquisition of 100% of the AZD-103
program will create a solid foundation for Transition to build a strong
franchise in the area of Alzheimer`s disease therapeutics.
Transition currently owns 33.2% of the outstanding shares of ENI. Under the
Purchase Agreement, Transition will offer to purchase all remaining ENI shares
for $13.2 million payable in Transition common shares. In addition, ENI
shareholders will be entitled to a series of payments, contingent on AZD-103
achieving certain clinical milestones, potentially totalling up to $12.8 million
payable in Transition common shares and a royalty of up to 1% on net sales of
AZD-103. With the signing of the Purchase Agreement, all the directors of ENI
have agreed to sell their ENI shares to Transition. The closing of the
transaction is scheduled for March 10, 2006.

The lead compound AZD-103 is part of an emerging class of disease-modifying
agents that have the potential to both reduce disease progression and improve
symptoms such as cognitive function. AZD-103 breaks down neurotoxic fibrils,
allowing amyloid peptides to clear from the brain rather than accumulate and
aggregate to form amyloid plaques, a hallmark pathology of Alzheimer`s disease.
In addition, AZD-103 is well positioned as an Alzheimer`s therapy as it is taken
orally, crosses the blood brain barrier and has an excellent safety profile.
