      Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 34.518.979 von Popeye82 am 16.07.08 12:34:15Hallo Popeye,

      Brockman Res. ist eine Versuchung wert ...
      Haben gerade durch ein KE 112 Mio. A$ eingesammelt für 45 Mio. neue Aktien.

The draft regime and public consultation paper were released by the Western Australian Department of Treasury & Finance on Tuesday, and provide strong indication that the WA State Government intends to enforce existing State Agreements with BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto. The State Agreements require the two companies to provide third party iron ore haulage on their Pilbara rail infrastructure.)

      Brockman Resources plans immediate Marillana study

      A definitive feasibility study at the Marillana iron ore project, owned by Subiaco-based Brockman Resources, will commence immediately, the company told the Australian Securities Exchange this morning.

      Perth-based project management company Engenium has been awarded the contract for the first stake of the study, having recently completed a scoping study on the project, located 100km north-west of Newman.

      Brockman managing director Wayne Richards said in an announcement that the first stage of the project would see the establishment of a processing plant and infrastructure for an initial start up rate of 2 million tonnes per year.

      The company expects to commence mining on the project in late 2009.

      Brockman shares were down 2¢ to $1.86 at 11.37am.

      Citigroup Vorschau Metallpreis-Entwicklung (bullish für Kupfer, Stahl (Eisenerz) und Kohle):

      CITIGROUP REPORT
      Tuesday , 15 Jul 2008
      Copper at $5.50/lb, nickel under pressure, aluminum undergoing 'important structural change'

      Citigroup says inventories, import/exports, scrap prices and merchant premia are positive for copper, steel and coal, mixed/improving for aluminum, and poorer for lead, zinc and nickel.

      Citigroup suggested Monday that it senses a shift from mining and metals "commodity momentum phase" to the more mundane "earnings discovery phase where the markets sorts out who can capture pricing across the customer/product mix, and deliver it to earnings.

      In their Mining/Metals Prospects report, Citigroup analysts John H. Hill, Graham Wark and Paul Cheng advised that "realistically, this is likely to lead to rotation in the shareholder base while creating opportunity for longer-term value investors."

      Key themes outlined by the analysts included:

      · Aluminum breaking to 10-year highs following coordinated power cuts in China;

      · Copper sorting out physical prices points;

      · Steel is topping, having established premia to global benchmarks;

      · Spot coal sells off, yet physical seems tighter;

      · Stagflation, policy and geopolitics benefitting gold.

      The analysts forecast "important structural change" for aluminum as it climbed to decade highs after 20 major Chinese smelters agreed to cut five to 10% of output due to coal/power shortages.

      "Given that aluminum demand is running 28% in China (Brook Hunt 7/08), there is a good chance the market will shift to deficit. We see power cost/availability as deterministic in aluminum, with impacts on both current producers and future capacity, and maintain Street-high forecasts of $2/lb for 2009."

      The analysts noted that Brook Hunt showed higher aluminum production and surplus estimates for this year and next. "Consumption estimates worldwide are lower in 2008 and 2009 compared to May estimates. Except China with higher estimates in 2009, it is forecasting slightly lower aluminum prices for 2008, but higher alumina prices for 2008."

      Citigroup admitted that its global copper forecasts "are aggressive at $5.50/lb in 2010." Nevertheless, the analysts added, "We see it as best-positioned among base metals, with replacement costs more deterministic than the operating cost curve.

      The analysts said that "Chinese re-stocking, mine shortfalls and project stretch-outs will be key."

      In the meantime, Citigroup noted that Brook Hunt has raised its copper surplus forecasts for a metal surplus of 308 kT this year, widening to 494 kT in 2009 and 748 kT in 2010. Citigroup advised that "growth in copper demand through 2010 should be led by China, with developed markets easing due to slowdowns in the U.S. and Europe."

      Meanwhile, Citigroup analysts advised that "nickel faces continued pressure, having dipped below $10/lb. Weak U.S. housing/appliance and the spillover to Europe are slowing absorption of last year's massive Chinese stainless steel capacity adds. ...Nickel continues with wrestle with a shakeout in stainless melting capacity, as well as delayed substation effects and new low-tech Chinese ‘nickel-pig' iron. Nickel in pig iron may become considerably more economic, with the new use of EAF's [Electric Arc Furnaces] instead of blast furnaces plus payments for increasingly valuable iron credits."

      Brook Hunt forecasts a nickel metal deficit of 6 kT in 2008, reverting to a surplus of 42kT in 2009 and 87 kT in 2010, according to Citigroup, which noted that nickel inventories "are at multi-year highs, but are low in tonnage terms."

      Citigroup's analysis suggests nickel demand growth through 2010 will be lead by China. Consumption will grow moderately in Europe and still flat in the USA.

      Meanwhile growth in zinc demand through 2010 is "vastly dependent on consumption growth in China," the analysts said. Citigroup noted that Brook Hunt forecast a zinc metal surplus of 151 kT this year, 934 kT in 2009, and 17 kT in 2010. "Longer-term smelter adds loom in Asia, but short-term these may be curtailed on power constraints."

      PARK PLACE ENERGY CORP.
      Park Place Energy Corp. Provides Operational Update
      July 15, 2008 - Park Place Energy Corp. is pleased to announce, with cash flow exceeding expectations, operations at the Company’s Eight Mile gas property will be aggressively accelerated.

      Park Place’s operating partner has called a partners meeting to review production and 3D seismic data and decisions will be made as to where to drill additional earning and step out wells.

      Park Place has identified a new strategy in focusing on the core area surrounding the producing Eight Mile property in North Eastern British Columbia, in which the Company has extensive experience. Within the identified core lies the Horn River Basin area which has been identified as the hottest resource play in North America.

      The Horn River Basin area has been identified as being larger than the Barnett shales of Texas as reserves have been estimated as high as 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas by Wood Mackenzie in a recent report. The Horn River Basin has seen land prices spike as big players such as Apache Corporation (NYSE:APA), EOG Resources (NYSE:EOG) and Encana (NYSE:ECA) enter the area aggressively taking large blocks of exploration land.
