Ventana Gold Corp. holds rights to 4,518 hectares of exploration
property in the historic California-Vetas mining district in
northeastern Colombia, of which 3,710 hectares are wholly owned
with the remainder under option to acquire 100% interest. The
Company is currently drilling at La Bodega and plans to deliver a
resource estimate in 2009.
Ventana’s flagship property is La Bodega, which covers 185
hectares immediately adjacent to Greystar Resources’ 11.55 million
ounce Angostura gold-silver deposit. Acquired in 2006, Ventana has
drilled 105 holes at La Bodega totalling 25,500 metres and has
released results from the first 94 holes. Ventana is also conducting early stage exploration at the California-Vetas property and recently acquired the adjacent Coloro property.
Ventana trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol
VEN.
La Bodega
An option agreement to acquire 100% of the La Bodega
property was signed in February 2006. No modern
exploration or drilling had occurred on the La Bodega
property prior to Ventana’s acquisition. An aggressive
campaign of geochemical sampling, mapping and
geophysics was undertaken to define drill targets upon
acquisition of the property. Drilling has concentrated on
defining the northeast-trending gold mineralization
present along 850+ metres of strike length with widths of
30 to 150 metres and to a maximum drilled depth of 300
metres. Mineralization remains open to further expansion
in several directions and other, nearby drill targets have
been developed as a result of ongoing exploration. Assay
results with completed QA/QC verification have been
compiled for the first 94 drill holes (see complete table at

Ventana Announces More La Bodega Drill Results
57.40 Metres of 8.66 Grams Per Tonne Gold
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 26, 2009) - Ventana Gold Corp. (TSX:VEN) ("Ventana" or the "Company") is pleased to provide results from holes 95 through 105 on its flagship, 185-hectare La Bodega property, part of its ongoing gold exploration program in the California-Vetas gold mining district of northeast Colombia. These represent the final 11 holes of the Company's 2008 drill program.
Of particular note is drill hole 100 at the La Mascota zone; a step-out hole located 100 metres along strike to the southwest of previous drilling which cut an interval of 57.40 metres of 8.66 grams per tonne gold, effectively extending the strike length of known mineralization at La Mascota to 725 metres. The width of this mineralized interval was not completely tested as the hole was terminated due to drilling problems while still in mineralization, with the final sample containing 14.74 grams per tonne gold.
Ventana has drilled 105 core holes totalling 25,457 metres at the La Bodega property through the end of 2008. As announced on February 23, 2009, Ventana has initiated a new 2009 drill program to further test strike and dip extensions at the La Mascota zone and recently increased the number of drills for the program to three.

* Monday March 30, 2009, 8:48 am EDT
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 30, 2009 -- Ventana Gold Corp. (Toronto:VEN.TO - News) ("Ventana" or "the Company") has arranged for a non-brokered private placement of 4.3 million units at a price of $1.40 per unit for gross proceeds of $6,020,000. The transaction is fully subscribed by Lumina Capital LP, an entity held principally by Vancouver mining entrepreneur Ross Beaty.
Each unit comprises one common share and one non-transferable share purchase warrant entitling the holder to purchase one common share at a price of $2.00 per common share for a period of two years following the close of the transaction.
Ventana President and CEO Richard Warke said: "Lumina has been a strong supporter of Ventana in the past and we are pleased to see their interest increase to 8.5%, or 12.2% on a fully diluted basis. Their additional investment shows their confidence in our company and the exciting potential of the La Bodega property."
A finder's fee is payable to Peninsula Merchant Syndications Corp., a private merchant bank controlled by Sam Magid, co-founder of Salman Partners Inc. Net proceeds from the transaction will be used to fund general working capital. Closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.

Beaty was busy in the summer of 2005, going into the market eight times to buy shares of Northern Peru at prices between $1.11 and $1.43. He ended up owning more than 7 million when Beijing came calling.
This morning it was Teck Cominco’s CEO Don Lindsay and its chairman, Norman Keevil calling, chequebook in hand. Teck-Cominco is offering $426 million, or $12.32 a share in cash and stock, for Global Copper, a Vancouver junior whose main asset is the Relincho copper-molybdenum project in northern Chile. Teck shares are trading down 84 cents, or 2 per cent, to $45.77.
Last July, Global Copper raised $11 million at $3.65 a share for drilling at Relincho. Beaty picked up over 821 thousand shares in that round of financing, after picking up a million shares at $1 in April.
All told, Beaty’s position in Global Copper stood at 7.9 million shares, just over 25 per cent of the company.
Global shareholders will get 0.2 of a Teck Cominco share and $3 in cash. They also get one share in a new venture, Lumina Copper – all Global Copper’s remaining assets, including a copper-gold prospect in Argentina will be rolling into Lumina Copper.
Coincidentally, Ross Beaty used to have a major position in another company, Lumina Resources that merged with Western Copper in September 2006. Western Copper is the owner of the Carmacks copper project in Yukon. Shares of Western Copper have been moving up recently, trading as high as $1.49 Friday after bottoming at $1.01 at the end of March.
Oh yes, the biggest shareholder in Western Copper? Ross Beaty with 5.3 million shares. Not that this guy knows anything about copper mines.

Ventana Gold* (VEN : TSX : $2.30), Net Change: 0.24, % Change: 11.65%, Volume: 942,315
The Beaty bump. We saw a pop late Wednesday, with someone buying a large stake – and now we know who. Ross Beaty and his Lumina Capital LP were at it again; this time buying up 2,254,500 common shares of Ventana in a purchase made through the facilities of the Toronto Stock Exchange. Lumina Capital, an entity held principally by Vancouver mining entrepreneur Ross Beaty, now exercises ownership and control over a total of 9,109,500 common shares of Ventana and warrants exercisable to purchase 5,355,000 common shares of Ventana, which in aggregate represent approximately 16.9% of the 80,262,631 issued and outstanding common shares of Ventana. Lumina stated that its acquisition was made for investment purposes and that it may in the future, acquire ownership and control over additional securities of Ventana for investment purposes. Earlier this month, Ventana released positive results from the high-grade La Mascota mineralized zone on the company’s flagship La Bodega gold property in Colombia. Ventana highlighted that it has approximately tripled the known depth extension of the La Mascota zone with the results of holes 107 to 109 (vertical holes). Prior to the current drilling program, the northeast-trending La Mascota mineralization had been defined along 725 m of strike length, to a depth of 100 m down-dip, with estimated true composite widths of 20 to 80 m and remained open for expansion in all directions. Drill holes 106 through 109 were drilled in the southwest portion of La Mascota to test the down-dip extension of known mineralization and have confirmed that potentially economic grades and widths of gold mineralization extends to at least 250-270 m down-dip in that area. A new discovery in hole 109 cut a deeper interval from 383-425 m depth grading 5.85 g/t Au over 42 m and appears to be a parallel mineralized structure situated in the footwall of the main mineralized structure.

Ventana Announces Additional La Mascota Drill Results
94.50 Metres of 5.83 Grams Per Tonne Gold
VANCOUVER, BRITISHCOLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 4, 2009) - Ventana Gold Corp. (TSX:VEN)("Ventana" or "the Company") is pleased to provide drill results fromtwo more holes of its 2009 drill program. The Company currently hasthree core drills working on site to test the down-dip and strikeextensions of the high-grade La Mascota mineralized zone on itsflagship La Bodega gold property in Colombia.
Due to the success of the current drill program, the Company plansto add another three drills to accelerate the exploration and infilldrilling at La Mascota, bringing the number of rigs on site to six.
Prior to the current drilling program, the northeast-trending LaMascota mineralization had been defined along 725 metres of strikelength and to a depth of 100 metres down-dip, with estimated truecomposite widths of 20 to 80 metres and remaining open for expansion inall directions. Drill holes 106 through 109, reported on in a pressrelease dated May 12, 2009, confirmed that the La Mascotamineralization continues to at least 250 metres down-dip and discoveredan additional mineralized structure situated in the footwall of themain zone. Drill holes 110 and 112, reported on here, were also drilledin the southwest portion of La Mascota to test the down-dip extensionof mineralization and have confirmed that potentially economic gradesand widths extend to at least 250 metres down-dip over a tested strikelength thus far of 325 metres. Both holes also encountered additionalmineralized zones in the footwall of the main structure, furtherenhancing the potential to expand resources.
The 2009 drill program is part of Ventana's ongoing goldexploration program in the California-Vetas gold mining district ofnortheast Colombia, where Ventana controls a 4,573-hectare landposition. Ventana's exploration activities and all drilling to datehave been concentrated on its flagship 185-hectare La Bodega property.Recent property acquisitions have consolidated a land position thatprovides an additional 1,300 metres of potential strike length toextend the La Mascota zone to the southwest.
Gold assay results with completed QA/QC verification have beencompiled for drill holes 110 and 112. Select drill hole intercepts fromthese holes are reported below:

Drill intercepts are based on a 0.5 gram/tonne gold cut-off with no
upper cut. Drill intercept lengths are down-hole lengths reflecting
apparent widths of mineralization with true widths ranging between
50%-70% of the reported down-hole lengths.
A drill hole location map and a complete listing of drill intercepts from the first 112 holes are available at www.ventanagold.com.
Mineralization at La Bodega occurs as a series ofnorth-northwest-dipping parallel-sheeted vein zones, breccias andmineralized faults situated within an envelope of pervasively phyllicaltered and variably silicified gneiss and intrusive rocks.
La Mascota Drill Results
Drill hole 110 was drilled from a site situated 100 metres alongstrike to the northeast of previously reported down-dip test hole 108.It was drilled as a vertical hole and cut through 13 mineralizedintervals between 110 and 513 metres drilled depth, each ranging from4.0 to 38.0 metres in drilled length, indicating that the structure hassplit into a series of presumably parallel zones in that area. The bestof these intercepts included 9.0 metres of 13.04 grams gold per tonne(including 1.80 metres of 59.17 grams gold per tonne) starting at adrilled depth of 372 metres, and 38.0 metres of 5.00 grams gold pertonne (including 10.1 metres of 15.95 grams gold per tonne) starting ata drilled depth of 395 metres. In addition, four mineralized zones werecut in the footwall of the main structure that included 19.2 metres of3.88 grams gold per tonne starting at a drilled depth of 441 metres.
Drill hole 112 was drilled from a site located 125 metres alongstrike to the southwest of previously reported down-dip test hole 109.It was drilled at a -75 degree angle in a due south direction to testthe down-dip extension of mineralization encountered in hole 100, whichencountered 57.4 metres of 8.66 grams per tonne of gold and terminatedwhile still in mineralization. Hole 112 cut a relatively thin,high-grade intercept in the hanging wall of the structure of 8.1 metresof 17.54 grams gold per tonne (including 1.5 metres of 77.69 grams goldper tonne) starting at a drilled depth of 218 metres and also cut themain structure with an interval of 94.5 metres of 5.83 grams gold pertonne starting at 247.5 metres drilled depth. This section included twohigh grade zones of 11.0 metres of 12.26 grams gold per tonne and 3.0metres of 56.63 grams gold per tonne. Hole 112 extended themineralization previously encountered in hole 100 an additional 75metres down-dip, giving a total of 175 metres of down-dip extensiontested thus far in this area.
Review by Qualified Person, Quality Control and Reports
Results of the Company's drilling program have been reviewed, verified, and compiled by Ventana's VP of Exploration Jon Lehmann,L.P.G., a Qualified Person for the purpose of National Instrument43-101 ("NI 43-101"). Mr. Lehmann has over 25 years of mineralexploration experience, is a Licensed Professional Geologist in thestate of Washington and a member in good standing of the CanadianInstitute of Mining and Metallurgy.
To ensure reliable sample results Ventana has a rigorous QA/QCprogram in place that monitors the chain-of-custody of samples andincludes the insertion of blanks, duplicates, and certified referencestandards in each batch of samples. Core is photographed and sawed inhalf with one half retained in a secured facility for verificationpurposes. Sample preparation (crushing and pulverizing) is performed atan independent local laboratory established by a joint effort betweenthe regional environmental permitting agency ("CDMB") and the GermanGeological Survey, and at the Colombian preparation laboratory ofInspectorate Laboratories, a worldwide ISO 9001:2001 certifiedlaboratory. Prepared samples are direct-shipped to ACME AnalyticalLaboratories in Vancouver, B.C., an ISO 9001:2000 certified laboratory, for analysis. Pulp splits of mineralized intervals are re-assayed at anindependent referee laboratory, Inspectorate America Corp. in Reno,Nevada.
Updated, independent NI 43-101 technical reports were prepared inJune 2008 by EurGeol Miller O'Prey, PGeo, for the La Bodega propertyand the nearby California-Vetas property to provide a current review ofexploration activities.

Ventana Gold’s Gathering Steam

. . .
The second even this week that cause the market to wake up to what Ventana has in store was the announcement by TD Waterhouse of its buy recommendation on Ventana shares, citing a CA$4 per share price target.
According to the report: “Ventana is a gold exploration and development company that was listed in November 2008. The company has a portfolio of properties in northeastern Colombia. Its flagship La Bodega project covers 2.2 km of the southwestern strike extension of the fault zone which hosts the 15 million ounce (mm oz) Angostura Gold Project of Greystar Resources Ltd. (GSL-T; not covered) on the adjacent property.
To date, 109 shallow drill holes have tested half of this strike length and have returned broad intervals of moderate and high grade gold mineralization. We calculate conceptual resource estimates of 1.1mm oz grading 3.4 g/t and 3.2mm oz grading 8.8 g/t in the La Bodega and La Mascota zones, respectively.
We believe this justifies the construction of a concurrent openpit/ underground mining operation with combined throughput of 10,000 tonnes per day. This generates 490,000 oz per year at total cash costs of US$239/oz over a seven-year mine life in our model. More importantly, we believe the potential exists to multiply these resources with further drilling down-dip and along strike to the southwest of La Bodega and La Mascota where both zones are open.
We are initiating coverage with a Speculative BUY recommendation and $4.00 target price, based on 0.8x NAV5% using US$800/oz gold.”

This is from June 6th so a little dated. Very good article showing the scale of the project.
http://www.stockhouse.com/Groups/MessageDetail.aspx?m=230493…
Vancouver- Another long, high-grade gold hit from the La Bodega project innortheast Colombia propelled Ventana Gold's (VEN-T) share price to anew all-time high, gaining $1.22 to hit $3.45. The gain is the latestleap forward in an eight-month journey for the newly public companythat is racing ahead with a strong gold project, over $4 million in thebank, and support from Lumina Copper's (LCC-V) Ross Beaty.
Ventana'sLa Bodega property covers the southwestern strike extent of GreystarResources's (GSL-T) Angostura deposit, which hosts 11.5 million oz.gold. Since acquiring the project in late 2005 Ventana's explorationefforts have identified three distinct zones along the 1.3-km strikeextent and a fourth just off-strike.
Starting in the northwest, the first 325 metres comprises the La Bodega zone, home to theartisanal La Bodega mine that originally drew Ventana to the area. Overthe next 200 metres, known as the La Rosa zone, the topography becomesvery steep and drill access is difficult. Ventana does not yet knowwhether La Rosa represents a fault block that has offset mineralizationor simply a more weakly mineralized segment.
The next 725 metresis La Mascota, which is where recent drilling efforts have beenconcentrated. Results from La Mascota continue to impress.
Thebest result of late came from hole 112. The drill cut through an8.1-metre intercept in the hanging wall grading 17.54 grams gold pertonne before hitting the main structure, which returned 94.5 metresgrading 5.83 grams gold. The hanging wall intercept came at 218 metresdownhole; the drill encountered the main structure at 248 metres depth.
Hole112 was collated 125 metres southwest along strike from hole 109, whichalso returned significant mineralization in four intercepts. At 254metres downhole the drill cut 9 metres of 3.15 grams gold; 20 metreslater it hit 34 metres of 3.06 grams gold; 10 metres after that itencountered 21 metres of 1.26 grams gold; and 25 metres thereafterintercepted 42 metres grading 5.85 grams gold.
Continuing alongstrike to the northeast, hole 108 was collared 125 metres away fromhole 109 and returned a similar set of intercepts. The drill first hitgold at 185 metres depth, cutting 21 metres of 1.44 grams gold. At 239metres downhole the drill intercepted 5.1 metres of 9.67 grams gold; 40metres later it encountered 15 metres of 2.42 grams gold followedclosely by 4 metres of 6.55 grams gold.
And taking a final100-metre step along strike to the northeast, hole 110 cut 13mineralized intercepts between 110 and 513 metres depth, each rangingfrom 4 to 38 metres in length. The best intercepts included 9 metres of13.04 grams gold and 38 metres of 5 grams gold. And four of themineralized intercepts came from the footwall of the main structure, including 19.2 metres of 3.88 grams gold, indicting potential to expandmineralization by probing the footwall.
Prior to the 2009 drillprogram La Mascota had been traced along 725 metres strike, to 100metres down dip, and across 20 to 80 metres width. With the last twosets of results the down-dip extent now stretches to 250 metres
Ventanais so pleased with the current drill program that it plans to soondouble the number of drill rigs on site, from three to six. And aseries of recent property agreements has doubled the potential strikeextension within Ventana's land package, to 2.6 km.
Ventanasigned an option agreement for the La Bodega property in northeastColombia in early 2006, immediately started drilling, and before theend of the year hit the La Bodega discovery hole: 7.81 grams gold pertonne over 106 metres, starting just 29 metres downhole.
LaBodega is in the historic California-Vetas mining district some 400 kmnorth of Bogota and 40 km northeast of Bucaramanga. The property isroad accessible and crossed by power lines.
La Bodega and Greystar'sAngostura are part of the Santander massif of the Eastern Cordillera ofthe Andes. Mineralization at La Bodega occurs principally as a seriesof north-northwest dipping, parallel sheeted vein zones, breccias, andmineralized faults situated within an envelope of pervasively phyllicaltered and variably silicified gneiss and intrusive rocks
Investorsloved the latest drill results from La Mascota, which included hole112's 94 metre intercept grading 5.83 grams gold, and traded 2.5million shares to push Ventana's share price up $1.22 to a new high of$3.45. The company debuted on the Toronto Stock Exchange in November, hit a low of 4¢ in the winter, and has since climbed steadily.
AndVentana has a strong ally in successful Vancouver mining entrepreneurRoss Beaty, best known for directing Lumina Copper to buy fourproperties during the last downturn. He gradually spun each propertyout into its own company then sold each company for enormous profits.Beaty's relatively new investment vehicle, Lumina Capital, has beenslowly increasing its holdings in Ventana over the last six months andnow holds 9.1 million shares plus warrants exercisable to purchase 5.4million shares. On a fully diluted basis, Lumina controls 16.9% ofVentana.

Ventana Gold discovery is the real deal
June 16, 2009, 11:15 AM by Peter Koven
Everyone is talking about Ventana Gold Corp. these days, and TD Newcrest analyst Daniel Earle thinks the hype is justified.
Following a visit to the company's La Bodega project in Colombia, Mr. Earle wrote in a note that Ventana "may be in the early stages of making a world-class discovery." As a result, he hiked his target price from $4.00 a share all the way up to $10.00 a share. This is a company that traded at precisely 4¢ last November, before some of the amazing drill results from the La Mascota zone at La Bodega started to flow in.
In his model, Mr. Earle assumed the project generates production of 550,000 ounces a year at total cash costs of just US$295 an ounce. His target is based on a multiple of 1 times his net asset value (NAV) estimate, using a gold price of US$900 an ounce. His NAV projection includes an exploration credit of $300-million to account for the huge untapped potential of the project.
"With mid-tier levels of production and bottom-quartile cash costs possible, we expect the market to focus on resource potential and we see multiple avenues for expansion," Mr. Earle wrote.
He noted that world-class gold discoveries are very rare, but of course there is a recent precedent: Aurelian Resources Inc., which hit the jackpot with the Fruta del Norte discovery in Ecuador. In that case, Mr. Earle wrote that the market ascribed the full value of the resource within just eight months of the discovery, and a full year before Aurelian finally announced how big it was. That potentially bodes well for Ventana in the short term.
He also pointed out that the company is well-financed, with about $8-million on hand and another $8.7-million coming from the exercise of warrants.

INITIATING COVERAGE
Ventana Gold (VEN : TSX : $4.61) - Speculative Buy - Target: C$7.50 Nicholas Campbell
Comment: Swinging for the fences; initiating coverage with a SPECULATIVE BUY rating and C$7.50 target price
Ventana is focused on the exploration and development of its La Bodega gold-silver project in northeastern Colombia. The La Bodega project is adjacent to Greystar Resources' (GSL : TSX : C$3.05 | Not rated) Angostura project.
Drilling to date has outlined two significant zones of mineralization at the La Bodega project: the La Bodega and La Mascota zones. The La Bodega zone appears to be a continuation of the mineralization delineated at the Angostura project.
Based on drilling to date, we see the potential for a conceptual gold-equivalent resource of 1 million ounces. To date, the company has drilled La Mascota over a 725 metre strike length with 20 to 80 metre true widths and to 250 metres down dip.
Based on the drilling to date and with consideration for down-dip extension of mineralization, we see potential for a conceptual resource of 4.0 million ounces of gold at La Mascota at a grade of 8.0 g/t Au.
The La Mascota zone remains open down dip and along strike. Artisanal mining along a further 1.3 kilometres of potential strike extension at La Mascota suggests significant exploration upside potential.
Should the widths and grade of the mineralization at La Mascota hold up along strike, we see potential for the La Bodega project to host in excess of 10 million ounces of high grade gold resources.
We are initiating coverage on Ventana Gold Corp. with a SPECULATIVE BUY rating, which is based on our favourable view of the additional discovery potential on the La Bodega land package and the probability of the company emerging as a potential consolidation target for an intermediate to large cap gold producer.
Our 12-month target price of C$7.50 is based on a preliminary discounted cash flow analysis on the conceptual resource at La Mascota with additional in situ value for the resources at La Bodega zone and for potential resource growth along strike at La Mascota.

AngloGold May Seek Acquisitions to Expand in Colombia (Update1)
By Heather Walsh
July 16 (Bloomberg) -- AngloGold Ashanti Ltd., Africa’s largest gold producer, may seek to buy assets in Colombia as it expands output in the Americas, an executive said.
The Johannesburg-based company would look at potential targets in the early stage of development, not in production, said Rafael Herz, president of AngloGold’s Colombian unit. The company already has an “aggressive” exploration plan in Colombia, he said, adding that AngloGold isn’t currently in talks for such an acquisition.
“Colombia could become a cornerstone for the medium- and long-term growth strategy,” he said in an interview yesterday in Bogota. “As opposed to elsewhere in the Americas, where the growth strategy would be more short-term.”

Ventana’s flagship La Bodega project covers 863 hectares in the historic California-Vetas gold mining district of northeastern Colombia. La Bodega is immediately adjacent to the 11.55 million ounce Angostura gold property. The project area comprises the La Bodega, Coloro and El Cuatro properties. Ventana is earning up to a 100% interest in each property.
Ventana first acquired an interest in the La Bodega project in 2006. The initial drill hole - which proved to be the discovery hole - encountered 107 metres grading 7.8 grams per tonne gold. Since that time Ventana has completed 150 holes totalling more than 45,000 metres. Of these, 144 have been released. The Company is currently drilling with 10 rigs on the property.
Mineralization at La Bodega occurs as a series of north-northwest-dipping parallel-sheeted vein zones, breccias and mineralized faults hosted within a broad, northeast trending regional fault zone. Drilling to date has concentrated on defining the northeast-trending gold mineralization present along 1,350 metres of strike length with estimated true composite widths of 20 to 80 metres and to a maximum drilled depth of 400 metres. Mineralization remains open to further expansion in several directions and other, nearby drill targets have been developed as a result of ongoing exploration.
La Bodega Property
An NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared by James R. Reeves (see above link) states, "based on observed surface and underground exposures of the alteration and the distribution of historic workings, an intermediate drill target appears to be present, extending southwest from the Greystar property line for about 750 metres along strike and 250 metres wide."
Core drilling by Ventana has concentrated on testing a 1,350-metre strike length extending southwest from the property line shared with Greystar Resources. The first 350 metres comprises the La Bodega zone, hosting the namesake La Bodega artisanal mine. The next 200 metres comprises the La Rosa zone, where steep topography has limited drill access. The few holes drilled thus far in the La Rosa zone have provided mixed results and it remains uncertain whether this zone is a fault block which has offset mineralization or is a more weakly mineralized segment. The next 800 metres comprises the La Mascota zone. An additional zone, Las Mercedes, is situated 400 metres to the south of the La Bodega zone. Initial scout drill holes at Las Mercedes have intercepted encouraging gold mineralization but more drilling is required to define the extent and geometry of this mineralization.
LA BODEGA ZONE
Drill results to date have shown the La Bodega zone to contain intersections of potentially ore grade material over composite true widths of 20 to 150 metres. Mineralization in the La Bodega zone is essentially closed off to the northeast by the property line but remains open in all other directions. It has been tested over a strike length of 350 metres and to depths of up to 300 metres. A high-grade zone in the footwall of the main mineralized structure was discovered in 2008 and has been traced over a 150-metre length where it appears to merge into the main zone to the northeast and remains open to the southwest.

LA MASCOTA ZONE
The La Mascota zone has been shown to contain narrower, though generally higher-grade intersections of potentially ore grade material than that observed in the La Bodega zone, with estimated true composite widths ranging from 20 to 80 metres. Mineralization at La Mascota has been tested over a strike length of 800 metres and to a depth of 400 metres and remains open along strike in all directions. Drilling has continued to extend the known mineralization at La Mascota to the southwest.

LA ROSA ZONE
The 200-metre long La Rosa zone lies along strike between the La Bodega and La Mascota zones in an area of very steep topography with difficult drill access. It may comprise a fault block in which the main mineralized trend has been offset or it is a more weakly mineralized segment. Drill hole 104 was situated on one of the few available drill sites and cut through a series of relatively thin mineralized structures with locally high grades up to 15.73 grams per tonne gold over 1.0 metre. Further exploration and drilling is required to define the geologic significance of these intercepts.

LAS MERCEDES ZONE
The Las Mercedes zone is comprised of a group of artisanal tunnels and crosscuts along a 300-metre length of a high angle, fractured zone of sheeted vein structures. Initial scout drilling at the Las Mercedes mine cut through a series of northwest trending vein structures over a 200-metre strike length. An additional discovery was made at the El Tierrero area, 300 metres west of the Las Mercedes mine. The initial drilling conducted in this area has returned encouraging results requiring further exploration and drilling to define the extent and geometry of the mineralization encountered to date.

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez warns of possible armed conflict with Colombia
Chinese CCTV: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has ordered the country's military to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Colombia.
Chavez warned that Venezuela could end up fighting Colombia as tensions between the South American neighbors worsen following a series of shootings and killings along their common border. He also voiced concern over a deal between Colombia and the US. Under the recently concluded 10-year lease agreement, American troops will have greater access to Colombian military bases. Chavez reiterated his fear that US soldiers are preparing to use the bases as launching pads for an attack on Venezuela in order to seize control of its oil reserves.
Colombian and US officials say their deal was not reached for the purpose of mounting military strikes against Colombia's neighbors. They claim it is necessary to more effectively help Colombia fight drug traffickers and rebels. Colombia says it will appeal to the UN Security Council and the Organization of American States to assure peace after the Venezuelan President ordered his army to prepare for a possible conflict.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said "The two governments have come together to lie to the world -- or try to lie to the world. So, military comrades, we won't lose a day in completing our primary mission: to prepare ourselves for war, and to help the people prepare themselves for war, because it's everybody's responsibility."

KEEGAN RESOURCES (T-KGN) $6.69 +0.57
VENTANA GOLD (T-VEN) $12.05 +0.17
A nice day in the gold sector today as gold hits $1100,
but we will reiterate something we find intriguing about the
whole sector. With gold up $200 in the last six months or
so, most gold stocks have still not budged, a victim of
printing so many shares that the entire gold sector is just
awash in paper.
Thankfully Nicholas Campbell, super-star, gold bug
picker has come up with some huge wins for us and the
one we have mentioned a lot—Keegan Resources is flying
today. Thank you Nicholas!
When we corner him today, he suggests some of that is
probably merger and acquisition talk that is starting tocenter around Keegan and needless to say, we hope he’s right!
But onto another one of his picks that is also having a
good day that suddenly politics may be getting quite interesting.
Notice on the map of Colombia that Ventana Gold
and many of the players in the area such as Greystar and
Galway are not too far from the City of Bucaramanga—
not too far from the Venezuela border.
That freak Chavez is creating a bit of a buzz today, suggesting
his army should mass on the border with Colombia.
Which is kind of cute when you realize the last time
they did that, the military in Venezuela realized that most
of their tanks didn’t work, some of their trucks had to be
pushed and that well...if this is a military…
Chavez, the maniac ruler of Venezuela is having big
trouble as crime hits unprecedented proportions in Venezuela,
unemployment is going the wrong way and as always,
corruption is rife. The population isn’t happy.
Meanwhile, many of the top executives with good technical
trading in the oil and gas business have simply left
the country.
Onto the problem...if the Venezuelan troops are going
to mass into the border, should people holding Ventana
and other stocks worry? We again, take the question to
Nicholas Campbell who tells us that the Colombian military
have had to fight their own wars lately with the FARC
guerrillas and are battle tested and he simply wouldn’t
worry too much about all this.
Meanwhile, this just reminds us of the old movie—”Wag
the Dog” because if and when things are going the wrong
way, just try and pick a war with someone else to unite the
multitudes.

VENTANA ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL DRILL RESULTS
STEP-OUT DRILLING ON EL CUATRO CONFIRMS EXTENSION OF LA MASCOTA MINERALIZATION; INFILL DRILLING INTERCEPTS 110 METRES OF 4.8 GRAMS PER TONNE GOLD
Vancouver, B.C., November 20, 2009 – Ventana Gold Corp. (TSX: VEN) (“Ventana” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce drill results from eight additional holes on the La Bodega gold project in Colombia.
Holes 153 and 157 were step-out holes drilled on the El Cuatro/Coloro border 300 metres southwest of the current known mineralization (see figure 1). Both drill holes intercepted mineralization characteristic of the La Mascota zone, with higher grade breccia veins hosted within a broader silicification, and confirmed the extension of the La Mascota structure (see section 9000E).
The remaining holes represent in-fill drilling along the previously defined 800-metre length of the La Mascota zone. Within this drilling, holes 145 and 154 probed the mineralization to greater than 400 metres down-dip. Hole 145 intercepted a deep interval of 6.2 metres grading 9.47 grams per tonne gold. Hole 154 intercepted an interval of 24.2 metres grading 7.69 grams per tonne gold starting at 490 metres downhole (see section 9600E).

Greystar Resources could be takeover target -analyst
Mon Nov 30, 2009 12:21 pm EST
* Holds 15 mln oz gold project in Colombia
* Analyst says large player could consolidate region
TORONTO, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Greystar Resources (GSL.TO), which owns a gold project next to acquisition-target Ventana Gold's (VEN.TO) closely watched site in Colombia, could also be on the radar screen of larger mining companies looking to buy their way into the region, Canaccord Adams said on Monday.
In a note, analyst Nicholas Campbell said the proximity of Greystar's 15-million-ounce Angostura gold-silver project to Ventana's La Bodega project suggests the two assets should be developed together.
"Greystar's Angostura project and Ventana's La Bodega project are part of what we believe is an emerging 20-30 million ounce gold district," Campbell said.
"Given the dearth of new large gold discoveries, Greystar could attract the attention of a suitor looking to consolidate the district," he said.
Ventana, whose shares have risen 26-fold this year due to increasingly impressive drill results at La Bodega, said last week it had been in talks with an unidentified third party that might be interested in buying the company.
Campbell initiated a "speculative buy" rating and C$10.50 price target on Greystar.
The Vancouver-based company's shares were up 1 Canadian cent at C$5.95 on the Toronto Stock Exchange at midday on Monday.
Canadian-listed junior Galway Resources (GWY.V) also holds a property near the Greystar and Ventana projects, and has seen its shares rise along with the Ventana results.
Shares of Ventana were down 16 Canadian cents at C$9.60, while Galway stock was up 5 Canadian cents at C$1.18.

Ventana has two remaining option agreements to complete. The first is for the La Bodega property,
which is being disputed by the land owners (see news release dated November 27, 2009, available on
the Company’s website at www.ventanagold.com). The dispute is an attempt by the land owners to
invalidate the option agreement and have the property returned to them. Ventana believes the claims are
without merit and is confident the arbitration will rule in the Company’s favour.

Acquires rights to La Bodega and La Baja properties
* Dispute has weighed on gold explorer's shares (In U.S. dollars unless noted)
TORONTO, May 7 (Reuters) - Ventana Gold (VEN.TO) said on Friday it has settled a dispute over ownership of its key gold deposit in Colombia, and also acquired a neighboring property.
The Canadian gold miner became a market darling last year when it released a succession of high-grade drill results from the La Bodega property in the northern part of Colombia.
However, its shares plunged in November when the local owner of the property filed for arbitration in the hopes of reclaiming the rights to it. Ventana had been in the process of acquiring ownership through a series of staged payments.
In its Friday statement, Ventana said it has signed agreements to acquire the mineral and surface rights at both La Bodega and the adjacent La Baja property. As part of the deal, Ventana will pay $48 million and the arbitration will be terminated, it said.
The La Baja property includes an operating mine and processing plant.
"The agreement give us unencumbered access to an expanded land package for continued exploration and development of this prolific gold district," Ventana Chief Executive Steve Orr said in a statement."
Canadian gold miners Greystar Resources (GSL.TO) and Galway Resources (GWY.V) are also developing deposits in the same area as the La Bodega property.

Silver Wheaton acquires right of first refusal on silver streams from Ventana's La Bodega project
TSX: SLW
NYSE: SLW
VANCOUVER, May 17 /CNW/ - Silver Wheaton Corp. ("Silver Wheaton" or the "Company") (TSX, NYSE:SLW) announces that it has acquired, by way of a private placement financing, 1.8 million units in Ventana Gold Corp. ("Ventana") (TSX:VEN) at a price of C$11.50 per unit for total consideration of C$20,700,000. The Units are comprised of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant. Each whole warrant entitles the holder to purchase one common share of Ventana at a price of C$15.00 for a period of one year from the date of closing of the transaction. As part of this transaction, Silver Wheaton has been granted a right of first refusal over any silver streams relating to all of Ventana's Colombian properties with an area of interest covering a 5 kilometre radius from the property boundaries. Ventana's flagship asset is the high-grade gold-silver La Bodega project.
"We are pleased to have acquired a right of first refusal on this very promising project," said Peter Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of Silver Wheaton. "Drill results to date suggest that La Bodega has the potential to host a world-class gold deposit, with substantial silver by product credits. As the project advances, we look forward to working with Ventana towards completing a silver streaming agreement."
Silver Wheaton has acquired Ventana shares for investment purposes and may acquire or dispose of its beneficial ownership, control or direction over securities through market transactions, private placements, treasury issuances or otherwise as circumstances or market conditions warrant or arise.
ABOUT LA BODEGA
Ventana's flagship La Bodega gold-silver project is located in northeastern Columbia immediately adjacent to Greystar Resource Ltd.'s Angostura gold-silver project. Ventana has also signed an agreement to acquire the La Baja project, which is strategically located immediately to the southwest of the La Bodega project, giving Ventana ownership of a large land package within a prolific gold district.
The La Bodega project consists of two newly discovered, large, high-grade zones of gold-silver mineralization known as La Bodega and La Mascota. The project has excellent road access and is close to existing infrastructure including power and water. In addition to undertaking an aggressive drill program, with a focus on expanding the high-grade La Mascota zone, Ventana is progressing engineering studies to develop the deposit.
ABOUT SILVER WHEATON
Silver Wheaton is the largest silver streaming company in the world. Forecast 2010 production, based upon its current agreements, is 22.2 million ounces of silver and 20,000 ounces of gold, for total production of 23.5 million silver equivalent ounces. By 2013, annual production is anticipated to increase significantly to approximately 38 million ounces of silver and 59,000 ounces of gold, for total production of over 40 million silver equivalent ounces. This growth is driven by the Company's portfolio of world-class assets, including silver streams on Goldcorp's Penasquito mine and Barrick's Pascua-Lama project.
Infill drilling in conjunction with step-out drilling has begun on the El Cuatro mineral tenement. Hole 276 on
section 8850E intercepted 66.0 metres grading 3.76 grams per tonne gold and hole 267 on section 8700E
intercepted 8.1 metres grading 6.29 grams per tonne gold. Hole 267 is on the same section and about 80
metres up-dip from previously reported hole 207 which returned 38.1 metres grading 10.38 grams per tonne
gold. Drilling in this area, southwest of the recently acquired La Baja property, where drills are currently
being mobilized.
