TSX Graphite Company Comparables as of February 27th, 2012
      http://www.graphitestocks.com/graphite-blog-tsx-graphite-com…

With lots of new entrants in the space these days, it’s time to get some basic comparables going, because I know there are a lot of you doing you research right now. Considering the number of early stage plays, it’s also important to see where these Companies are trading in relation to each other, the exploration companies that have been around for a few more days, and the big boys.

Looking at this outline, the big boys are Flinders, Northern Graphite and Focus. Standard and Strike are the real first mover explorers I would say, (which should probably also include Lomiko as a function of timing) but should also include Cedar Mountain based on Market Cap. That said, these are still first mover explorers, and right behind them are other new entrants that will be advancing quickly; Solace, Soldi, Galaxy, Canada Rare Earths, and Greenlight.

The trend of these Graphite players on the whole has spoken for itself the past few weeks. Look them up on the charts. The large plays are commanding and starting to command roughly $100 million market caps to date. The first explorers are moving into the $10 to $15 mil range. And then the newer entrants are building out of the sub $5 mil range at present.

As I have previously stated, I believe the trend is continuing in one direction for the near term and we are in the early stages of the Graphite bull market. New entrants in the space by no means directly equal new resources, (except perhaps with Flinders, which should largely be a turnkey into production) and so expect more of it as different VC and Resource groups enter the action. Equally, that said, watch the financing action around these players too, which isn’t reflected here but should be considered because it’s also heating up. PDAC will be quite the show again this year.

Finally, see my notes below and do your own due diligence. I also invite you to share this with your friends and use the chat tool below to share your thoughts and get the conversation going. We’re going to be building on this list breakdown in the days, weeks and months ahead.

The Geological Survey of Tanganyika (as the country was known in colonial times) explored the area between 1956 and 1958 looking for the type of graphite used in pencils. Nothing was discovered. In the 1990s, however, the field was identified by the Tanzanian minerals ministry as having a significant graphite deposit."...
