E*TRADE beds down with Compaq

E*TRADE Australia (ETR) one of Australia`s discount brokers, today announced a strategic alliance with Compaq Computer Australia, a global supplier of personal computing solutions.

Under the alliance, E*TRADE will be the exclusive online stockbroking service for all new and existing Compaq customers in Australia and New Zealand. E*TRADE will also provide Compaq`s customers access to its online financial tools. Customers will also have the added benefit of trading managed funds through E*TRADE`s recently launched Managed Funds Centre.

Bill Wileman, General Manager, Marketing E*TRADE Australia, said: "With the uptake of home PC`s throughout Australia, people expect to have access information at their fingertips."

The alliance will initially start with the installation of a `Marketplace Hotkey` on Compaq`s Presario range of desktop and notebook computers, providing access to E*TRADE Australia`s financial services through the direct link.

At 1225 AEST E*TRADE shares were steady at $2.00.

die Jungs von der ANZ haben einfach besser verhandelt als die etrade, die die neuen ANZ-Kunden sehr teuer erkaufen mußte
