IDC Ranks BroadVision First in the E- Commerce Software Market

BroadVision Outperforms Others in Revenues, Customer Wins and Product Development Plan

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., - July 5, 2000 - BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq: BVSN), a leading worldwide supplier of personalized e-business applications, announced today that the analyst firm International Data Corp. (IDC) has ranked BroadVision as the world`s number one e-commerce software applications market leader. BroadVision`s e-commerce software application revenue grew from $36 million in 1998 to $81 million in 1999, more than doubling in growth in 1999 software license revenues and market share for e-commerce applications.
IDC notes that BroadVision`s success can be attributed to a combination of well-crafted technologies. “BroadVision had a fabulous year in the e-commerce software applications market in 1999 on the strengths of its Internet sales and marketing products as well as its expertise in personalization technology,” said Albert Pang, e- commerce software research manager at IDC who authored the report on ‘eCommerce Software Applications Market Forecast and Analysis, 2000- 2004.’ “With an impressive installed base of 538 customers at the end of 1999, BroadVision is showing strong momentum because of its ongoing advancement in providing business-to-consumer and business-to-business applications and extending these applications to the wireless market,” Pang said.

Furthermore, IDC estimated that the worldwide e- commerce applications market reached $1.8 billion in revenue in 1999, up 305% from $444 million in 1998. Leading the worldwide e-commerce applications market, BroadVision outsold all of the companies competing in the four e-commerce applications segments: sales and marketing, procurement, order management, and customer service and support.

      The Rankings

According to the recent figures from IDC on e- commerce software applications revenue, BroadVision was the leader among 250 other vendors worldwide competing in the $1.8 billion e- commerce software applications market in 1999. Oracle, Open Market, Vignette, IBM and SAP completed in the top six.

Ranked second in last year’s report, BroadVision penetrated the top position this year with double the amount of license revenues, surpassing last year’s leader Sun/Netscape.

“We are thrilled to rank number one among the world’s e-commerce application companies,” said Dr. Pehong Chen, president and CEO of BroadVision, Inc. “BroadVision’s winning business strategies are credited to the record rate of sales of our BroadVision One-To-One Web- and wireless-based applications packages. Companies using BroadVision are realizing measurable benefits and competing effectively in the new era of e-relationships.”

      @DARC

wieso Cisco?

      @Bowking,

      Was ist daran blablabla?

Will C.Gent nicht 50Pros an J.T erwerben*g*

      Hallo,

      @DARC
