The stock is a recommendation of Arnold H. Snider of Deerfield Management. The company "really is a platform technology company, and it has a lot of stuff going on in its research pipeline. But there is one product in the pipeline that has really gotten me excited, and that`s something called a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor. It is an oral inhibitor of TNF Alpha and IL-1 for rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatologists in this country have become absolutely convinced of the value of blocking TNF Alpha in arthritis, as witnessed by their acceptance of Embrel and Remicade. But if you could have an oral drug that blocks TNF effectively, it would probably be one of the big drugs in the world."
