Drew S. Levin Sues Team Communications Group for Wrongful Termination
Action Seeks in Excess of $3 Million in Damages; Solomon and Shapiro Also Named in Defamation Claim
LOS ANGELES, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Drew S. Levin, the founder and former CEO and Chairman of the Board of Team Communications Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TMTV - news; ``Team``) filed a cross-complaint on May 29 against Team and two of its senior officers, Michael Solomon, Team`s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, and Jay Shapiro, Team`s Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Levin`s cross-complaint challenges every claim made by Team in its April 6, 2001 lawsuit against Mr. Levin. Mr. Levin`s cross-complaint alleges that Team breached its employment agreement with Mr. Levin and Mr. Levin seeks in excess of $3 million in damages resulting from this breach. Mr. Levin`s cross-complaint also seeks damages due to defamatory statements made by Team and Messrs. Solomon and Shapiro, and damages to Mr. Levin resulting from Team`s improper recording of a lien against Mr. Levin`s home that the Superior Court threw out earlier this month. Finally, Mr. Levin`s cross-complaint seeks a reaffirmation of his rights under his long-term employment contract with Team and regarding his stock options.
Mr. Levin is represented by Terry Christensen and Peter Sheridan of the Los Angeles law firm of Christensen, Miller, Fink, Jacobs, Glaser, Weil & Shapiro, LLP. Mr. Christensen stated, ``Drew Levin has been the victim of a campaign of misinformation by representatives of Team and Drew is finally going to have his opportunity to bring out the truth.``
