(OTC Bulletin Board: SPAZ - news) announced today that Sharp Corporation has licensed Spatializer N-2-2(TM) virtual surround sound technology for its newest Portable DVD player, DV-L90TC featuring the new Vaddis® V DSP from Zoran Corporation. The interactive DVD player, named ``AQUOS DVD Mobile Theatre,`` was released in Japan in the second week of August. It is already available in stores and Sharp expects it to be a strategic product for the second half of this fiscal year.

The DV-L90TC features a 1.2 times larger screen with an 8.7 inch LCD than its predecessor, DV-L80TV, and 3.4 times higher resolution. It has a built-in UHF/VHF tuner. A newly developed ``Dynamic Digital Display Driver`` provides a more impressive picture of higher resolution and clarity.

Soweit ich weiss gibt es in solchen Fällen eine authorizierte Person, die die betreffenden Bücher bei den Lizenznehmern prüfen kann. Hab ich mal irgendwo gelesen, ob SPAZ so jemanden hat weiss ich nicht.

Denke Mars könnte mehr dazu sagen.

Aber erstens ist er momentan etwas anderweitig gestresst.

PS: Von den Lizenseinnahmen können wir trotz allem nicht leben. Es müssen SCHLEUNIGST neue Produkte her.
Anhand der Aufwendungen im Bereich Research und Development kann man erkennen, dass hier gearbeitet wird.

Na das kommt ja schon irgendwie wie gerufen. Endlich mal wieder ein DesignWin im DVD-Bereich!

N-2-2 wohl doch auf einem Weg zu einem Standard? Wenn N-2-2 erstmal so etwas wie ein Standard ist, könnte SPAZ vielleicht auch etwas mehr Geld dafür verlangen.
Schließlich ist der Deal nicht zu hoch zu bewerten, angenommen, dass Karos Rechnung mit 6.000 $ pro Quartal stimmt.


Und neulich ist mir was bei Marantz aufgefallen: Die vertreiben DVD-Player sowohl mit N-2-2, als auch mit TruSurround. Die wollen sich wohl noch nicht festlegen - ist ja schließlich beides noch kein Standard.
