NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Hans Hawrysz, executive vice president of corporate strategy with CMGI, gave analysts at the Prudential Volpe Technology Group Technology and Telecommunications Conference skeletal guidance on the Internet firm`s outlook Tuesday.

Declining questions about third-quarter results, Hawrysz said four of the company`s five operating segments would be profitable on an EBITDA basis by July 31, the end of its fiscal year. The exception is expected to be its infrastructure business. CMGI`s venture capital activities were not included in this outlook.

Asked when CMGI (CMGI: news, msgs) would get more specific about its near-term expectations, Hawrysz said a press release would be forthcoming but didn`t offer an exact date. After the presentation, he noted the importance of CMGI setting appropriate performance goals as the company establishes reporting standards.

Analysts also raised the cash question. Hawrysz said CMGI has enough cash to fund two years of operations at its current burn rate and that it will "probably not" seek a capital infusion within the next six months.

"We`re focused on reducing our burn rate to conserve cash," said Hawrysz. "That`s how we plan to approach the issue right now."

Quizzed about the timing of an AltaVista IPO, which has already been delayed once, Hawrysz was hopeful that the deal would eventually take place.

"It`s really up to the market itself at this point," he said. "But it`s clearly something we have in our sights."

Wer sich mit den fundamentalen Zahlen, den Beteiligungen und dem Chart beschäftigt wundert sich wohl nicht.
CMGI wird zu Broadvision aufschliessen (40 Euro bis Jahresende). So wird es auch Intershop ergehen, allerdings können die nicht von 20 Euro steigen, sondern von 60 fallen. Aber alle erwähnten Aktien waren ja mal das 4-6fache wert.
Fundamental gibt es im Moment wohl nur einen Highflyer und das wird TFG sein. Gott sei Dank ist sie nicht am NM sondern im Smax. Das ist schon mal der Garant nicht vom Gesamtmarkt heruntergezogen zu werden. Aber wenn die kurzfristig anberaumte Analystenkonferenz Anfang November erfolgen wird gibt es neue Höchststände. Mein Tip nach den schon vorliegenden Zahlen bis Ende des Jahres 75 Euro.
