CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 2003--U.S. Microbics Inc. (OTCBB:BUGS) today announced its financial results with record-breaking revenues for the first quarter of FY 2003 ended Dec. 31, 2002.
The company reported revenues of $183,098, which was approximately twice the run-rate of FY 2002 annual sales and this represents an 1,100% increase over the same quarter last fiscal year. This marks a record revenue quarter for the company, as well as a solid foundation for future sales growth.

Robert C. Brehm, U.S. Microbics CEO stated, "After several quarters of increasing revenue, it appears that we are on the right path for continued revenue growth and profits once we achieve an economy of scale which covers our overhead and project costs. Our project business model based on a Pay-for-Performance delivery system has shown itself to be more profitable than conventional Pay-for-Effort systems used by others."

To Aggressively Bid New Contracts

U.S. Microbics Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Sub-Surface Waste Management, over the next several quarters plans to continue to aggressively bid new contracts for bioremediation work in the State of South Carolina via the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).

The company has successfully completed or commenced five environmental remediation contracts for the State`s Underground Storage Tank Rehabilitation Program (UST). For the program, contracts have been awarded to clean up petroleum compounds, such as underground and groundwater contamination by MtBE, BTEX and Naphthalene.

With continued success, the company hopes to bid, win, bond and execute numerous additional contracts out of more than 3,800 Underground Storage Tank cleanup projects in South Carolina backlog, as listed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The average contract fee won by SSWM in the past has come in at approximately $200,000, and the company anticipates project fees to continue in this range.
