GlobeNet Resources Inc.: High Grade Gold at Cape Ray Project

Mr. Harvey Keats, President of GlobeNet Resources Inc., announces that the Company has received results from its recent diamond drill program on the Isle aux Morts area of the Cape Ray Gold Project. Management is extremely encouraged by the results and their impact on the potential of the Isle aux Morts area, and their implications for the viability of the overall Cape Ray Gold Project.
The Cape Ray Gold Project is an advanced stage exploration project with four known deposits related to the Cape Ray Fault Zone, located in southwest Newfoundland. The Project has three separate claim groups: 1) the Cape Ray claim group, which contains the 04 and 41 deposits; 2) the Big Pond claim group, which contains the Big Pond deposit; 3) the Isle aux Morts claim group, which contains the Isle aux Morts deposit.
The recent drill program was focused in the Isle aux Morts area where previous drilling in the 1990`s intersected two styles of mineralization. Gold mineralization occurs in metal rich quartz veins and gold bearing pyritic sediments at the base of a sedimentary package in contact with an underlying granite. The majority of the intersections in the previous drilling at Isle aux Morts are within 50 metres of surface.
The objective of the program was to further outline the known mineralization, to explore the open pit potential at Isle aux Morts and to test a one line IP anomaly to the northeast of the known deposit. Six drill holes were completed during the program, which was suspended on November 29, 2002 due to the onset of extreme winter conditions.
Five of the holes were drilled into the known Isle aux Morts deposit. All five holes intersected gold mineralization both in quartz veins and pyritic sediments. The best intersection in the quartz vein, and the best drill intersection at Isle aux Morts to date, is 17.76 g/t gold over 6.8 metres including 47.22 g/t gold over 2.0 metres. The best intersection in the altered pyritic sediments is 3.74 g/t gold over 8.0 metres.
One additional hole, IMR 2002-01, was drilled 275 metres to the northeast of the known deposit, into a one line geophysical IP anomaly similar to the IP response over the Isle aux Morts deposit.
The attached tables include assays for the recently completed holes (Table 1), the holes in the vicinity drilled by previous owners (Table 2) and trenching completed by previous owners (Table 3).
The following description of the new holes, and their relationship to previous work, is best understood in conjunction with the attached assay tables and with the surface plan and cross sections available on the Company`s website (www.globenetresources.com .)
Section 5 + 70 W
Hole IMR 2002-02 was drilled down dip of 8.05 g/t gold over 16.0 metres in quartz veins and pyritic sediments in trench 1, and down dip of 9.87 g/t gold over 10.79 metres in quartz veins and pyritic sediments in IMR 1990-09. IMR 2002-02 is up dip of gold mineralization in quartz veins in IMR 1991-03. IMR 2002-02 intersected 17.6 g/t gold over 2.1 metres and 2.3 g/t gold over 1.0 metre in quartz veins. The mineralization in IMR 2002-02 and IMR 1991-03 is offset by approximately 20 metres towards surface by a fault between IMR 2002-02 and IMR 1990-09.
Section 5 + 90 W
Hole IMR 2002-03 was drilled down dip of 10.5 g/t gold over 13.0 metres in a quartz vein in trench 2, and down dip of 6.12 g/t gold over 10.36 metres in a quartz vein in IMR 1990-06. IMR 2002-03 intersected 17.6 g/t gold over 6.8 metres and 1.81 g/t over 1.34 metres in quartz veins. Previously drilled IMR 1990-01, located beneath IMR 2002-03, intersected 1.70 g/t gold over 3.51 metres in pyritic sediments and 9.06 g/t gold over 3.05 metres in quartz vein. The mineralization in IMR 1990-01 is offset by a fault by approximately 20 metres towards surface from mineralization in IMR 2002-03.
Section 6 + 15 W
IMR 2002-04 was drilled down dip of 19.6 g/t gold over 6.0 metres in a quartz vein and 2.3 g/t gold over 3.0 metres in pyritic sediments in trench 3. IMR 2002-04 intersected 6.55 g/t gold over 5.0 metres and 13.33 g/t over 0.6 metres in quartz veins, and 3.74 g/t gold over 8.0 metres in pyritic sediment. Previously drilled IMR 1991-02, located beneath IMR 2002-04, intersected 1.85 g/t gold over 9.71 metres in quartz vein and pyritic sediments which appears to be offset by a fault by approximately 25 metres towards surface. IMR 1991-02 is interpreted to have been drilled down a fault zone and contains numerous barren quartz veins, and two mineralized quartz veins averaging 1.32 g/t gold over 4.27 metres and 2.03 g/t over 4.27 metres.
Section 6 + 50 W
IMR 2002-05 was drilled down dip of 3.82 g/t gold over 7.5 metres in a quartz vein and 1.65 g/t gold over 14.8 metres in pyritic sediments in trench 4, and down dip of a 10 metre barren quartz vein and 5.10 g/t gold over 16.0 metres plus 2.85 g/t gold over 0.92 metres in pyritic sediments in IMR 1991-06. IMR 2002-05 intersected 6.02 g/t over 2.0 metres and 4.5 g/t over 5.0 metres in pyritic sediments, immediately followed by 19.0 metres of pyritic sediments with assays pending, a 10 metre barren quartz vein and 1.38 g/t gold over 1.0 metre of mineralized quartz vein at the granite contact. Previously drilled IMR 1991-09 was drilled down dip of IMR 2002-05, intersecting 5 metres of barren quartz followed by 16.3 g/t gold over 1.0 metre in a mineralized quartz vein at the granite contact and 1 g/t gold over 9.76 metres in pyritic sediments.
The 2002 program has significantly advanced Management`s understanding of the Isle aux Morts deposit and its potential for low cost open pit mining. Additional exploration at Isle aux Morts will focus on drilling to the southwest and northeast using IP geophysics and geology to target the drilling.
The Company will also focus on identifying other geological settings with potential for Isle aux Morts type mineralization, throughout the Cape Ray Gold Project. The discovery of near surface open pit gold deposits have the potential to greatly enhance the viability of the Cape Ray Gold Project.
Future work on the Cape Ray Gold Project will also include drilling to expand the known mineralization at the 04, 41 and Big Pond deposits, all of which have underground potential. The Company will also explore for other environments geologically similar to 04, 41 and Big Pond.

ich glaube das sind ca 2 Mio m² am Cape Ray Projekt bisher!
momentan ist es schwierig zu sagen ob man einsteigen soll. Ich weiß nicht wie der kanadische Markt reagiert!
möglicherweise bekommt man billige Stücke, möglicherweise auch nicht!

Highlights of the program include gold mineralization both in quartz veins and adjacent pyritic sediments in five of the six holes. The Cape Ray gold project is an advanced stage exploration project with four known deposits related to the Cape Ray fault zone.
