Citrix Ranks in Top Five of FORTUNE Magazine`s List of Fastest-Growing Companies
      FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1999

Leader in Application Serving Software Achieves Revenue Growth of

      140 Percent Over Three Years

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS - news) has been ranked in the top five firms on FORTUNE magazine`s annual list of ``One Hundred Fastest-Growing Companies.`` Citrix, the market leader in server-based computing software, earned its number 5 ranking with earnings per share of 100 percent, revenue growth of 140 percent and total return of 65 percent, all over three years. In addition, when revenue growth was evaluated independently, Citrix ranked eighth.

``Our rapid growth is a direct result of tremendous marketplace adoption of the innovative application server computing architecture we pioneered,`` said Mark Templeton, Citrix president and CEO. ``Our software solutions offer the extended reach, deployment speed and operational predictability enterprise customers need to control costs and be more competitive. The net effect is a level of computing independence that reduces application ownership costs while enabling companies to have IT more focused on supporting business strategies.``

To be included in the FORTUNE list, companies must be U.S.-based, have been in operation for at least three years, and have a market capitalization of at least $50 million. Beyond these preliminary criteria, they need both sales and earnings per share growth of at least 30 percent each year over three years. The magazine also factored in each company`s stock market returns since 1996.

According to FORTUNE,``Not only have these 100 businesses posted staggering gains in profits and revenues, but many have also produced impressive returns for investors.``
